When Pierre brought it up, Victoria raised an eyebrow, completely unconcerned. “Yeah, that was me. So what?”
Pierre shoved his hands in his pockets and stepped closer to Victoria. “Nothing, really. Just thought you should know–Simon’s such a joke. When I asked if you were behind it, he just clammed up, acting all tough and refusing to say a word. Even when I was beating the hell out of him, he still wouldn’t admit you sent him. Isn’t that funny?”
He let out a short laugh, clearly amused. “Simon’s an idiot. He really thinks this makes up for everything.”
Victoria let out a mocking laugh. “It’s actually kind of funny. I mean, I can’t even help laughing. What was Simon thinking? That this would magically fix all the crap he messed up before?”
Pierre’s laughter cut off, replaced by a mocking edge. “Simon was this close to me beating him to death. He’s probably still stuck in a hospital bed. And you don’t feel even bad for your own brother at all?”
Victoria didn’t flinch. “After everything he’s done trying to get me killed, why would I feel sorry for him? I sent him to help Yvonne so you’d take care of him for me. Honestly, I’m just pissed you didn’t go all the way. If he’d died, you’d be the one locked up, and that would’ve finally made him useful. I would’ve felt a hell of a lot better.”
Pierre let out a low whistle. “Damn, that’s ruthless. If Simon heard you say that, would he still think it was worth getting himself half–killed just to stay on your side? Seriously, I almost feel sorry for him.”
Victoria curled her lips into a mocking smile. “Oh yeah? If you feel that bad for him, maybe I should beat you half to death too. That’d count as revenge for him, don’t you think?”
Pierre’s face went cold. “You wanna try? You’d better have the skills to back it up. And watch yourself at night. If you go missing, Jackson’s gonna go crazy.”
He glanced at Yvonne one last time, then strode away.
Victoria snorted. “Like he owns the night or something. Please. I like being out after dark. Let the freaks come out–I’ll deal with them one at a time.”
Jackson raised a brow. “Oh yeah? I’ll just hold the flashlight and be your little cheerleader on the side then?”
Victoria laughed. “Sure.”
As the other entertainment company reps saw the Gale Entertainment group leaving, they started to get up as well. But Victoria called out, “Lunch is on me at Mimiburg today. Order whatever you want.”
Since they were already there and it was lunchtime, everyone except the Sky Media and Starlight Media reps decided to stay for a free meal.
“Tracy, come over and sign the contract,” Victoria called out.
Tracy, still a little spaced out, snapped to attention when Victoria called her. She quickly grabbed Yvonne and hurried over.

Me Wander, we grav serieneby paying 150 million dollars for the rights to Chasing the Dream?”
wwwwwwar Kertainment did offer 70 million dollars before. Since Victoria refused to sell to Gale Kadettatattend as Viata, Brightstar has to put up 150 million dollars to buy the rights to Chasing the Dream!]
Victor really have that kind of cash?
(So what if she doesn’t? W’s just moving money from one pocket to another anyway!]
thats cfferent this is an actual transaction!]
Victoria replied, “Yeah, I’ll personally invest 150 million dollars into Brightstar Entertainment for the rights to Chasing the team‘
The repe who stayed behind were floored.
150 million dollars out of her own pocket? Where’d she get that kind of cash?”
“Seriously, wasn’t she just some small–town woman selling herbs and playing doctor? How much could she even be making out there? Even if she sold the rights to three novels, that still wouldn’t add up to 150 million dollars!”
“But she can’t just be bluffing for show, right? This is a live stream–if she’s lying, she could get sued!”
“If she really has 150 million dollars to buy the rights to Chasing the Dream, then we wouldn’t exactly be losing unfairly”
Everyone assumed that since Victoria was the original author, she’d just sell the rights to Chasing the Dream to her own company, Brightstar Entertainment, for next to nothing.
But now, it looked like she wasn’t planning to play dirty at all. She was actually putting down real, cold hard cash for the deal,
Seeing all this, the other entertainment companies couldn’t exactly accuse Victoria of wasting their time anymore. After all, she really was shelling out 150 million dollars to buy her own story rights.
“Alright, Tracy, head back and tell everyone to get the project started and start casting. And Yvonne’s officially our female lead,” Victoria instructed.
Yvonne looked at Victoria with gratitude and admiration in her eyes.
“Got it, Ms. Binder!” Tracy said, practically buzzing with excitement.
She couldn’t help but feel really guilty for ever doubting Victoria. She almost ended up as clueless as Marty, the business manager who jumped ship to Gale Entertainment and completely missed the bigger picture.
From that moment on, she decided that unless Victoria kicked her out, she was staying by her side no matter
What
After witnessing the whole event, Sophie was even more convinced of one thing.

Chapter 236
“No wonder Victoria’s got my idiot brother completely wrapped around her finger. She really is something else. Everyone thought that marriage was doomed, but now I bet half the circle thinks Jackson struck gordi
“Oh? So you’ve changed your mind and want Victoria as your sister–in–law now?” her friend teased
Sophie shrugged. “Forget it. Gavin could never measure up to Victoria. Honestly, in all of high society around here, Jackson’s probably the only one who could match her.”
“That’s quite the compliment.”
“Let’s see what kind of storm Victoria’s going to stir up in the city.”
Just then, they spotted Oliver strolling down the hallway outside the window.
Sophie’s friend said, “I heard Oliver refused to take over the Cooke family business. Instead, he’s been writing web novels under his real name, and he’s actually pretty well–known in male web fiction circles. He only recently came back to start getting involved in the family company.”
“Now that’s what I call headstrong,” Sophie sighed. “Both are elite families, but the Cookes are so straightforward—he won’t even take the whole fortune they’re offering him. And the Thorntons? The brothers are basically at each other’s throats, fighting for the heir spot.”
She laughed. “This just makes me even more determined–if I ever have kids, I’m only having one, no matter what.”
She didn’t want to end up with a son like her stupid brother and spend her life constantly bailing him out
After the contract for the rights to Chasing the Dream was officially signed over to Brightstar Entertainment the meet–and–greet came to an end, and the livestream was already shut down.
Outside Mimiburg, Curtis saw that Victoria had successfully wrapped up the meet–and–greet without being troubled by Nathan or the other entertainment companies. He couldn’t help but feel relieved.
It turned out that he’d been worrying for nothing.
As sharp and talented as she was, there was no way she didn’t have a plan up her sleeve.
Curtis pulled his cap lower, about to head out, when Nathan’s chilling voice rang out behind him, send shiver down his spine.
“Find a screenwriter immediately to come up with a knockoff script like Chasing the Dream. We’ve got to beat Brightstar Entertainment to the punch and get ours out first I want their version to flop hard and get buried
