Victoria finished drying her hair and picked up her phone. Another message from an unknown number popped up.
[Victoria, if you block me again, you’ll lose your chance to be my woman forever. This Saturday night, I’m going to a welcome party for the Binder family’s real daughter.
[You’ve never been to something that grand, have you? If you still want to be with me, come find me. I’ll pick you up at Benwig City train station and take you in as my personal assistant. Remember, this is your last chance.]
Victoria stared at the message and fell into a rare moment of self–doubt.
She wondered why she had saved Gavin back then. If she could go back, she’d leave him on the side of the road and let him die.
What made it worse was that she’d actually thought he seemed decent at the time and had even dated him for two months.
This would probably be the most embarrassing mistake of her life.
But what a coincidence. She hadn’t expected Gavin to show up at her own welcome party.
She was suddenly curious to see what his face would look like when he found out she was the Binder family’s real daughter.
This time, she didn’t call him an idiot or block him.
Instead, she replied: [Sure. Meet me at the station tomorrow at noon.]
She almost smiled. He could stand there until he turned into a skeleton, and he still wouldn’t see her.
Leaning back against the headboard, she was about to put her phone down when a news notification popped up.
[Secret News: Rumor has it that a certain heir from a wealthy family in Benwig City can’t have children.]
Victoria had no interest in gossip like this. She tried to delete it, but accidentally tapped into the article instead.
Just as she was about to close it, she realized. It was about Jackson.
She raised a brow and forwarded the link to him.
A moment later, Jackson replied with a simple question mark.
Then another message came right after. [Don’t believe it.]
Victoria had already typed out a reply telling him not to worry, that even if it were true, she could fix it.
But after reading his message, she paused and deleted her words.
She could feel his unease through that short sentence.
Actually, she didn’t really care whether he could have children or not. To her, even if they got married and never had kids, it wouldn’t matter.
The world was big. There were plenty of other things worth living for.
She sent back a simple smiling emoji.

Jackson replied quickly: [Did you settle things with your family?]
Victoria
got up, opened her drawer, and took a picture of the severance agreement. She sent it over. [All done.]
Jackson looked at the message and couldn’t help but smile.

She really didn’t hesitate. She had only been back with the Binder family a few days, and she’d already cut ties cleanly with her biological parents.
If that was the case, he had no reason to hesitate either. Cassian and Sibley had already crossed the line. He might as well deal with them completely.
He asked: [You cut ties with them, and Darell didn’t kick you out of the Binder family, huh?]
Victoria replied almost immediately: [Uncle Hector and Aunt Daisy adopted me. They’re amazing. I don’t care what anyone says. To me, they’re my real mom and dad now.]
Jackson let out a quiet laugh. [That’s true. Not all biological parents really love their own children.
[Same here. I can tell my father doesn’t actually like me. Since Cassian came back, he’s been paying more attention to Cassian.
[I never cared before. Cassian suffered out there, so it made sense for my father to make it up to him. I just didn’t expect he’d want me dead.]
Victoria read the message, her eyes softening slightly. She typed back: [Hugs. After we get married, if anyone dares bully you, I’ll destroy them.]
Jackson laughed under his breath. He didn’t doubt her for a second. He knew no one could bully a girl like her.
He replied: [Alright. I’ll rely on you to take care of me from now on.]
Victoria didn’t miss the chance to tease him. [Don’t worry. I’ll take very good care of you. I just hope you’ll serve me well in return.]
After ending the chat, Victoria called Mara.
‘Boss, how does it feel being back with the Binder family?” Mara asked.
‘Interesting, Victoria said. “Mara, look into the Binder family’s businesses. I want to know what they have, who’s running them, and how they’re doing.”
‘Got it, Mara replied.
“Jack, your abs feel pretty nice. You must’ve worked out a lot before.” Victoria had him pinned beneath her, her lingers gliding over his firm muscles.
Her hand slid from his chest down to his abdomen, tracing every line. Each touch made his body tense slightly
Jackson’s breathing grew uneven, his eyes dark with heat as he looked at her. “Vickte, if you like it, then touch as much as you
want.
A playful smile curved on Victoria’s lips. “Yeah, I like it. I’m going to touch it every day from now on.

His voice dropped, low and husky. “Alright. Anywhere you want, it’s yours.”
Victoria blinked. “You’re such a good boy.”

His gaze deepened. He leaned closer, his breath brushing her ear. “Since I’m being so good, shouldn’t I get a reward?”
“Sure. She leaned in slowly, her lips grazing his neck before she gave it a light bite.
His breath hitched. His arms tightened around her, pulling her closer as if he wanted to fuse her into himself.
Then, something soft brushed against her face. It was ticklish and annoying.
Still half–lost in the moment. Victoria frowned and opened her eyes, only to see three little snakes rubbing their heads against her cheek.
She was speechless. Her dream shattered instantly.
She let out a quiet sigh, yawned, and pushed them away.
The three little snakes grew excited the moment they saw she was awake. They bobbed their heads eagerly, clearly asking for food.
Victoria dragged herself out of bed. Under their eager stares, she walked to the cabinet and checked their food supply. There wasn’t much left.
She poured the last of the freeze–dried spiders onto her desk and pushed them toward the snakes. “Eat up. Tonight I’ll take you out for a proper feast.
The three little snakes nodded enthusiastically and started eating.
Victoria pulled out a chair and sat down, resting her chin in her hand as she watched them. Her mind drifted back to the unfinished dream.
She closed her eyes, trying to pick it up where it left off. But it was no use.
She opened her eyes again, a little annoyed.
Still, once she married Jackson, she could do whatever she wanted.
The next morning, Victoria was having breakfast with Hector and Daisy when Milton arrived. “Mr. Calvin Binder would like Miss Victoria Binder to come to the main hall shortly
Hector frowned. “What for?”
Milton answered calmly, “It’s about the marriage alliance between the Binder family and the Thornton family.”
Victoria raised a brow. So it was finally happening.
