Stephen was stunned when he heard the name. He followed Daniel’s gaze and spotted a man standing by the stairs

The man was tall and broad–shouldered, with sharp, chiseled features. He radiated such a powerful presence that it felt like he owned the place, making everyone instinctively wary of him.

But what really made Stephen shiver was the bone–chilling, innate anger etched into the man’s face.

That anger burned like a wildfire, threatening to swallow Stephen whole.

Stephen’s heart clenched as he recognized the man. It was Nathan Clark, the heir of the Clark family.

Why is Nathan here all of a sudden?‘ Stephen wondered, his mind racing.

And from the way Nathan was looking at him, it was obvious he was here for Stephen.

Stephen’s mind flashed through every possible reason, but none of them explained what was happening right now.

The door was yanked open by two thugs, and Stephen instinctively backed away into the house, his guard up.

Nathan’s bodyguards swarmed in, lining up on either side of the room.

Only then did Nathan step inside, his gaze cold and menacing, fixed right on Stephen.

Stephen felt a chill crawl up his spine under that stare, but he refused to flinch or avert his eyes.

Just then. Daniel bowed respectfully to Nathan and said, “I know you’re here for Stephen because he got picked by Brightstar Entertainment to star in Chasing the Dream. But you don’t need to dirty your own hands dealing with him. Why not let me handle it for you? I’ll give him a beating and ruin his face, all for you.”

If I pull this off, maybe Mr. Clark will actually take notice of me and give me his favor,‘ Daniel thought, his heart pounding with anticipation.

Nathan stared at Stephen, his face expressionless, a cold smirk curling at his lips. “Of course I brought you here to get revenge on Stephen. What, did you think I needed you just to show me around?”

Daniel’s heart soared with excitement. He quickly fawned, “Rest assured, Mr Clark! I’ll make sure you’re more than satisfied”

Stephen’s heart skipped a beat. He snapped, “You’re breaking into my house! That’s illegal! I’m warning you, get out of here right now, or I’m calling the cops!”

But Nathan remained completely unfazed by Stephen’s warning. He just stared back, his eyes turning even colder

This broke nobody actually thinks he can scare me with the cops?‘ Nathan mocked to himself.

Daniel burst out laughing, like Stephen had just cracked the biggest joke. “Call the cops? Please. You think you’ll even get the chance? And don’t forget about that mute old man lying in bed–do you really want him to live? I’ll take him out before the cops even show up!”

At the mention of the mute old man, Stephen clenched his fists and fell silent.

Stephen had learned some self–defense moves from his uncle, so usually, he could handle himself in a fight.

But with all these trained bodyguards in front of him, outnumbered and outmatched, Stephen was no match. He was quickly restrained and held down.

Stephen spat hard in Daniel’s face, full of disgust. “Scum like you? I’d rather die than beg!”

Daniel’s expression twisted as he wiped the spit off. “You fucking want to die that badly, huh?”

He raised his fist, ready to smash it into Stephen.

But just then, there was a heavy groan and a dull thud from outside the door.

The next second, a woman’s voice called out from the hallway.

Who’s got a death wish?” Victoria pushed Jackson’s wheelchair right into the room.

Daniel spun around and saw the two bodyguards who’d been guarding the door sprawled out on the floor, foaming at the nouth and twitching uncontrollably.

He recognized Jackson Thornton and Victoria Binder at the doorway, and fear flooded his eyes.

Victoria wasn’t the problem–the real threat was Jackson Thornton, the man backing her.

Even Nathan couldn’t stand up to Jackson Thornton, so what hope did a small–time director like Daniel have?

After a moment’s hesitation, Daniel reluctantly lowered his fist, swallowed hard, and moved to stand beside Nathan.
