Chapter 296
“Sure Jackson repled without a second thought
That caught Gary off guard He’d expected Jackson to object or at least think it over
But Jackson’s immediate agreement left Gary momentarily stunned, not sure how to respond
Jackson seemed to notice Gary’s surprise and smiled as he explained. “After all, you’re the one who saved and raised Stephen You know him better than I do. If you think this is best for him. I’ll trust your judgment.”
Then he added. “But don’t worry, Gary. I’ll make sure Stephen has all the resources, connections, and money he needs From now on, no one’s going to mess with him anymore.”
“If he ever sees something wrong, he can stand up for what’s right without hesitation, just like he did with Daniel today. And I’ll have his back and clean up any mess. From now on, his life will be smooth sailing.”
Jackson’s words left Gary feeling truly comforted. He could see that Jackson genuinely wanted to help Stephen.
Gary turned to Stephen with a questioning look in his eyes.
Stephen understood what Gary meant and nodded, indicating his full agreement with Jackson’s arrangement.
Honestly, if Stephen was certain he was Jackson’s real brother, his biggest wish would be to protect Gary and himself.
Now that Jackson was giving him real support and protection, that wish would finally be within reach.
When it came to money, Stephen knew he could make it through his own efforts.
But reality was brutal. Even if he had ways to earn, those with power and influence could easily shut him down.
Just like after he offended Daniel, his career in showbiz hit a wall.
Daniel wasn’t even that big a deal in the industry, but just one word or decision from him could derail Stephen’s entire
career.
Unless a director with more influence than Daniel was willing to overlook his history of assaulting a director, it’d be tough for him to make it in this business.
Like with the show Rising to the Top from Gale Entertainment, Kevin had originally wanted him for the lead role.
That should’ve been a golden opportunity, a chance for him to prove himself all over again.
But in the end, he got booted because of all those malicious rumors and slander.
Stephen looked at Jackson Thornton, the capital’s golden boy who had always seemed so far out of reach. He never imagined that one day, he’d suddenly find out he was Jackson’s brother.
He couldn’t help but feel a wave of complicated emotions inside.
He knew Jackson was probably his real brother, but right now, he just had no idea how to address him.
After hesitating for a moment, Stephen finally spoke up. “Mr. Thornton, sorry, but even if it turns out I really am your brother, I’m just not used to calling you ‘brother‘ yet.”
Jackson understood completely. He didn’t look disappointed at all, just gave a small smile and said, “No worries. Call me

whatever you like -even just Jackson is fine”
This tone was so easygoing and natural like it was no big deal at all
Stephen finally relaxed a but He took a deep breath and asked. So, when will the results be our
Even with Gary as a witness showing he was probably Jackson’s real brother, Stephen still wanted solid medical proof to be absolutely sure about then relationship.
Jackson replied. Ollie will put a rush on it at the hospital. We’ll know by tomorrow”
Alright Stephen said, turning to Gary. “Gary, let’s move out of here.”
Gary nodded
acksen told the bodyguards to pack up the place, while Victoria used the time to work on Jackson’s leg.
As Victoria expertly worked her needles, she asked, “Jack, Nathan’s probably going to figure out who Stephen really is pretty soon. If we just let him out there on his own, it’s definitely risky.”
ackson glanced at Stephen, who was packing up outside the room, and said, “I’ll have twelve of the most trusted bodyguards ny mom left me guard him closely. Unless someone tries to pull off a scheme like Sibley and her brother did last time, no one will be able to hurt him.”
Absolutely.” Victoria said, feeling genuinely relieved. “It’s wonderful you found your real brother so easily, and he’s being ooked after so well.”
the suddenly thought of herself–when she first came back home to the Binder family, her own brothers weren’t nearly as aring.
the wondered why, in such a happy moment, those two killjoys, Curtis and Simon, popped into her mind.
Yeah, we really have Gary to thank for keeping him safe all this time,” Victoria said.
before Jackson found his real brother Cassian, he’d imagined a thousand different scenarios.
le couldn’t help but wonder just how much Cassian had gone through in those twenty–two years here.
Luckily, really luckily, his brother was safe–and had grown into a guy brave enough to stand up for others.
Noticing Victoria had been quiet for a while, Jackson glanced back at her and, beneath her relieved gaze, glimpsed a hint of nelancholy.
de reached out, letting his fingers softly graze her brow.
Vickie, his voice gentle.
Victoria looked up. “Hmm?”
Come on, give me a smile,” Jackson said.
‘Huh? Victoria blinked, a little puzzled.
“You look really good when you smile,” Jackson said, his tone earnest.
Victoria blinked again, finding his request a bit random, but she still gave him a smile.

Jackson nodded in satisfaction Just as I thought you look great
Victoria’s sile grew even brighter at his compliment Honestly, you look even better when you smile Why are you so Jocused on me I’m not cold or anything -I smile all the time”
Jackson said softly. I just suddenly wanted to see you smile”
Then I want to see you give me a smile too,” Victoria said as she finished with the needles.
“Alright, Jackson replied, his face turning serious for a moment as he prepared, then gave her a big, toothy grin.
Victoria couldn’t help but laugh. “You look a bit goofy when you smile like that.”
Seeing her laugh, Jackson’s expression softened even more.
Outside. Stephen heard laughter coming from the room and couldn’t help but peek inside. He saw Victoria and Jackson talking, both of them laughing together, looking so happy and relaxed.
Man, those two really are made for each other,‘ Stephen thought to himself.
Once the treatment was done and everything in the house was packed up, Victoria said, “Jack, I’m not going with you guys. I’ll head back to the office first.”
“Alright.” Jackson replied, gazing at her gently. “Vickie, thanks for working so hard today.”
So, Stephen and Gary got into Jackson’s car and moved into the upscale gated community Jackson had arranged for them.
This place had top–notch security, you had to register your face, and every time you entered or left, the security guards would only let you through after a facial recognition check.
After moving all the luggage inside, Jackson didn’t linger. He wanted to give Stephen and Gary some space to process everything. “You guys get some rest if you need it. I’ll head out now.”
Before leaving, Gary grabbed Jackson’s hand and started signing.
Seeing Jackson’s puzzled expression, Stephen translated, “Gary wants to know how you’re planning to deal with that scumbag Donald. He wants to see Donald get what he deserves with his own eyes.”
