When Victoria’s name came up, Lexi, who was sitting next to Nathan and singing, stopped and gave Zachary a pointed look.
Nathan ignored Zachary, set his glass down, and turned to Lexi, expressionless. “Why did you stop singing?”
Timothy quickly chimed in, “Yeah, Lexi, why’d you stop? Mr. Clark was enjoying it. You’re ruining Mr. Clark’s mood here.”
Timothy’s tone was full of mockery.
Lexi’s grip on the microphone tightened. She knew Timothy was hinting that she was a plaything her father had handed over to Nathan to keep him entertained, for the sake of the company’s future.
Lexi set the microphone down. “My throat’s a bit dry. Anyway, Zachary, didn’t you have something to discuss with Nathan? I’ll stop singing, so I don’t get in the way.”
Zachary, realizing he’d been put on the spot, quickly said, “Sorry, Mr. Clark, for killing the vibe.
“It’s just that my bet with Victoria is almost up, and time’s running out. Plus, she came at me today, so I’m a bit anxious.”
Timothy chimed in, unfazed. “Zachary, what’s got you so worried? The deadline for your bet with Victoria isn’t even here yet. Relax, Victoria’s about to crash and burn.”
Zachary’s face lit up expectantly. “Mr. Clark, do you have a new way to take down Victoria?”
Timothy said with a flattering tone, “Of course, Mr. Clark has plenty of tricks up his sleeve for Victoria.
“Besides, my company poached Curtis from Brightstar Entertainment, and his new song is about to drop. You’ve seen how much hype he’s getting online.
“If Victoria’s new song turns out to be average and gets a lukewarm response, she’ll get roasted all over the internet. And if any new scandal about her breaks, Brightstar Entertainment will be dragged down with her.
“Plus, for Chasing the Dream, the male lead is Brian, and the second male lead is Stephen. Both of them are notorious for scandals.
“Victoria and that director, Frank, dared to cast them. Chasing the Dream is basically doomed with this lineup.”
Lexi wrapped her arm around Nathan’s, pretending to be casual as she asked, “Oh? Nathan, I’m really curious. What kind of plans do you have for Victoria?”
The assistant standing behind them glanced at Lexi, worry flickering in his eyes.
Nathan shot Lexi a sideways look, her arm still hooked around his, and said, “Since you want to know, I’ll tell
you.

“There’s going to be a major scene at Victoria’s birthday party. If she can’t deal with it, not only will Brightstar Entertainment take a hit, but she’ll be done for.”
Lexi felt a jolt inside, but her expression stayed perfectly calm. “Oh? Nathan, can you stir things up at Victoria’s birthday party? She wouldn’t invite you, right?”
Nathan gave a cold laugh. “Of course, I won’t do it myself. Some people will handle it.”
“I see,” Lexi thought, knowing she couldn’t dig any deeper without making Nathan suspicious.
Zachary’s eyes sparkled. “Seriously? Mr. Clark, that’s badass.”
He’d caught wind of it. Victoria’s birthday party was scheduled for the 21st this month, still before the two- month deadline for their bet.
If Nathan could ruin her at her own birthday party, Zachary wouldn’t have to be humiliated by Victoria ever again.
Right then, Nathan’s assistant’s phone rang.
The assistant glanced at the caller ID and reported to Nathan, “It’s Darell.”
Lexi tensed up inside. ‘Darell? Isn’t he Victoria’s real father? Word’s been spreading all over the elite circles that Calvin kicked Darell’s family out of the Binder family.
‘He’s actually in contact with Nathan? He must be plotting something shady.’
Nathan said coldly, “Take the call.”
The assistant nodded and put Darell through.
Lexi perked up, trying to overhear the conversation between Nathan’s assistant and Darell.
The assistant listened for a moment, replied with a quick “Mm,” and then hung up. Leaning in, he whispered to Nathan, “Darell said he can’t get an invite to Victoria’s birthday party.
“And Hector won’t let him cause any trouble that day. So Darell wants you to help him find a way to get into the Binder family for the event.”
Hearing Darell’s request, Nathan said, “Tell Darell I’ll give Sirena to him. He’ll have to figure out his own way and create an opportunity to attend Victoria’s birthday party at the Binder family.”
The assistant nodded. “Got it.”
Lexi heard everything loud and clear.
She thought, ‘So that’s what Nathan meant about a big scene at Victoria’s birthday party. It turns out it’s Darell who’s planning something shady.
‘I need to give Victoria a heads–up. She has to stay alert!’

“Damn! Zachary, check X!” Suddenly, one of the lackeys in the private room looked up from his phone and shouted.
Zachary pulled out his phone and saw the trending topic: [Victoria Walking The Dog]
Zachary angrily tapped on the topic, and the first post was a screenshot from a marketing account showing his chat with Victoria in the [E.C.E. Saga] group, where they’d made their bet.
Everyone online was losing their minds.
[Holy crap! This is insane. Victoria made a bet like this with someone.]
[One loser has to be walked on a leash like a dog, and the other has to lick the winner’s shoes. This is pure drama.]
[Come on, everyone, who are you rooting for?]
[Who even is Zachary?]
[I heard he’s the youngest son of the Davis family, who run the beverage empire in Benwig City. But he doesn’t have any real power at home. He parties all day and does nothing.]
[Looking at the date in the screenshot, the two–month deadline for the bet is almost up. Brightstar Entertainment doesn’t seem to be in any trouble at all. I think Zachary’s about to lose.]
[Not necessarily. I heard Zachary’s always hanging around Mr. Clark. Maybe he’s got Mr. Clark backing him up.]
[Victoria’s been busy lately. She went head–to–head with Curtis, and now she’s taking on Zachary!]
[She’s only been back with the Binder family for a short while, and she’s already made enemies with a bunch of big shots in Benwig City. But honestly, her drama is way more entertaining than most TV shows.]
Staring at the leaked chat logs, Zachary thought it must have been someone in the group who wanted to stir things up. But it turned out that Victoria had posted them on X.
He opened up Victoria’s comment section.
Sure enough, the comments under her post with the screenshots were buzzing.
[Queen Victoria, you’re so brave. As your fan, I’m cheering for you to win.]
[Of course, Queen Victoria’s gonna win. She’s the absolute queen of clapbacks. I knew she’d crush Curtis, and I’m sure she’ll crush Zachary, too.]
[I’m really worried about Queen Victoria. If she loses even once, the whole internet will tear her apart.]
There were also plenty of haters and trolls going after Victoria.
[The more you show off now, the harder you’ll fall later.]

[I have no idea if you’re any good, but Curtis’s talent is obvious to everyone. Your arrogance made Curtis even more famous.]
