Xavier’s tone was deadly serious. “So, Faye, if you don’t want to end up exiled to Afriska, I can’t afford to fail

this time.”

Faye gripped her phone tightly. “That’s right. Xavier, you absolutely can’t fail this time.”

After hanging up on Faye, Xavier headed back to the private room where he was meeting Felix.

He sat down and glanced at Felix, who was lounging comfortably across from him. “Jack showed up at my door asking about his dad, Donald.”

Felix replied with a lazy grin, “Oh? Xavier, you’d better keep Donald hidden well.

“If Jack finds him, our whole plan to have his real brother take revenge on Grandpa will go up in smoke.”

Xavier snorted. “I can make sure Jackson never finds Donald, but are you certain you can get Jackson’s brother and that guy Gary to start suspecting Grandpa and make a move against him?”

Felix said, “Relax. At the very least, Gary would never let anyone who might have killed Jackson’s mom, Chloe, off the hook.

“As long as I cook up a bit more so–called evidence that Grandpa was behind Chloe’s death, Gary will go after Grandpa like a rabid dog.”

Xavier said, “Deal. I’ll make sure Jackson doesn’t find Donald before the old man officially announces the Thornton family heir.”

Felix raised his glass. “Here’s to a successful partnership. Let’s celebrate early.”

Xavier raised his glass, too, clinking it against Felix’s.

They drained their glasses, each secretly plotting their own moves.

After leaving Thomas’s villa, Victoria glanced at Jackson with a half–smile. “Jack, by showing up in person today to put pressure on Faye, you’re going to make Xavier even more anxious.”

Jackson flashed a confident grin. “That’s what I want. Time’s running out. If he and Felix don’t take some drastic measures soon, they’ll be out of options.”

Victoria smiled warmly. “Alright, since we’re not going to Stephen’s place today to treat Gary, I’ll head back to the office to handle some business.

“Tomorrow at noon, I’ll give you Stephen’s invitation letter, and we’ll go together then.”

Jackson nodded. “Okay.”

After dropping Victoria off at Brightstar Entertainment, Jackson didn’t ask Ollie to drive him back to the

“Ms. Binder…” Tracy hurried over when she saw her.

Victoria raised her hand to stop Tracy. “I need to take this call first. Come to my office in five minutes.”

Tracy nodded. “Okay.”

Victoria sat down on the sofa in her office and answered Mara’s call.

Mara’s cool voice came through the line. “Boss, Darell went over to the Clark family’s place, caused a big ruckus, and stormed out, dragging Sirena with him, looking pissed off.”

“Oh?” Victoria was a bit surprised. “Darell really caused a scene at the Clark place before taking Sirena away?”

Lexi had told her that Nathan would hand Sirena over to Darell, so he could figure out how to bring her to the Binder family’s birthday bash.

Victoria wondered, ‘How do Nathan and Darell plan to use Sirena to get to my birth party without my permission?‘

But Victoria was finally starting to piece together what Nathan and Darell were going to do with Sirena.

Mara said, “Yeah, Darell showed up with a bunch of guys, and they almost got into a fight with the Clark family’s bodyguards.

“Miranda finally lost her patience and had Sirena thrown out the door, yelling that she was kicking her out for good and that she’d never be allowed back.”

Victoria thought for a moment. ‘Are they playing the victim here?‘

She wasn’t sure. There was still a week until the birthday party, so she’d have to wait and see how things played out.

“Alright, keep an eye on Darell and Sirena,” Victoria said, about to hang up when a thought suddenly struck her.

She added, “Wait, when your people were watching Darell. What about his wife, Julia? What was she up to?”

Mara replied, “Boss, my people said they didn’t see Julia at all.”

“Didn’t see Julia?” Victoria echoed.

“That’s right,” Mara confirmed.

A thought flashed through Victoria’s mind. She said, “I see. Keep tabs on every move Darell makes.”

Victoria hung up, tossed her phone onto the sofa, and frowned a little.

It had been a while since Julia caused a fuss to find out where Simon was.

Knowing what kind of person Julia was, if she went to Mullinran Village to look for Simon, Julia wouldn’t stay away from Benwig City for so long, even if Simon didn’t want to go back with her.

Victoria was always sharp about anything fishy. Once she got suspicious, she called Stephan to check on

Simon.

“Hey Victoria, what’s going on?” Stephan answered.

“Hey Stephan, did Simon’s mom come by the village looking for him lately?” Victoria asked.

“Oh, yeah, she did. But she couldn’t handle it, got into an argument with Simon, and headed back to Benwig City. Why do you ask?” Stephan replied.

Victoria’s eyes grew serious. “Stephan, are you sure she went back to Benwig City?”

Stephan replied, “I can’t say for sure. I heard Simon and his mom arguing that day.

“She said she was leaving, and after that, I didn’t see her again. I guess she must’ve gone back. Why? Is Simon’s mom missing or something?”

Victoria said, “Julia may be missing.”

She paused and then asked, “What about Simon? Doesn’t he care at all about what’s happening with his mom?”

“Not at all. He’s too busy trying to win over your uncles and aunts in the village. Every day, he’s either helping with the carts or fertilizing the fields.

“Honestly, he probably wouldn’t notice if his mom dropped dead,” Stephan said, his tone dripping with

sarcasm

Stephan’s last words were dripping with sarcasm.

“Alright, got it,” Victoria said.

“Victoria, you care if Julia’s alive or dead?” Stephan asked.

Victoria replied, “I don’t care what happens to Julia, but if anyone tries to use her disappearance to ruin the birthday party my parents planned for me, my first one with the Binder family, I won’t let it happen.”

“So that’s it. Julia really is missing, and someone set this up,” Stephan said.

Right then, there was a knock at the office door.

Victoria said, “Yeah, that’s almost it. Anyway, Stephan, I’ve got things to take care of. We’ll talk later.”

After hanging up, Victoria called out, “Come in.”

Tracy pushed the door open and walked in. “Ms. Binder.”

Tracy said, “Curtis posted on X half an hour ago. Have you seen it, Ms. Binder?”

Victoria replied, “No, I’ll check it now.”

She pulled out her phone and opened X, checking Curtis’s feed.
