After a moment, Tracy asked, “Should I try to get your new song up on a few more music platforms at the same time?”

Victoria replied, “No need to let those other platforms benefit from it.”

She knew the CEO of Redberry Music, and her company owned some shares under Mara’s name.

So from the very beginning, she never planned to release her song anywhere else. It wasn’t that she couldn’t get a deal with other platforms. She just didn’t want to.

Tracy was stunned.

Julia disappeared at such a crucial time, Victoria thought. ‘It’s hard not to think it’s connected to whatever Nathan meant by his “big scene.”

‘No matter how crazy Darell gets, last time, he had someone kidnap Daisy, but that was another one of his schemes. He wouldn’t use his own wife as bait, would he?‘ Victoria wondered.

But then again, it was possible. Darell had always been arrogant, and even losing a finger didn’t slow him down.

Victoria nodded. “That’s right.”

Daisy asked, “Is he a friend of yours?”

Victoria answered honestly, “No, he’s Jack’s biological brother.”

Daisy was stunned. “His biological brother? Wait, does that mean the Cassian we heard about before…”

Victoria answered without missing a beat, “That was a fake.”

Daisy was stunned, but then everything clicked. “That explained it. Jackson was so nice to Cassian and the adopted daughter, Sibley.

“Who could’ve guessed Cassian would join forces with Sibley to plot against Jackson? Talk about not knowing right from wrong. Turns out, Cassian wasn’t even Jackson’s real brother.”

Hector looked worried. “Victoria, are you sure it’s okay to tell us something so important?”

Daisy caught on, too. “Yeah, are you sure?”

Victoria smiled. “You’re my parents, and I trust you completely. There’s no reason to hide this from you.

“Besides, everyone who needs to know about Stephen’s connection to Jack already does.”

Victoria replied, “It’s all smears cooked up by his rivals. Stephen was an orphan, raised by Gary, a scrap collector.

“He got noticed for his looks and landed a shot in the entertainment industry. When he shot to fame overnight, those powerful rivals got jealous and twisted the truth, spreading lies about him.

“Once Chasing the Dream officially starts filming, I’ll make sure to set the record straight for him.”

They lost track of time, and before they realized it, it was already ten o’clock. Victoria finally headed back to her room.

Blackie was nowhere to be seen, probably hiding somewhere again.

Victoria ruffled the little heads of Greenie and Whitey, and even though Blackie was nowhere to be seen, she included him as she whispered, “Thanks for all your hard work lately.”

With that, she grabbed her pajamas and headed off for a shower.

After her shower, Victoria saw that Jackson had tried to video call her, but the call had been canceled.

She flopped onto her bed and started a video call with him again.

As soon as the call connected, Jackson said, “Hey, I talked to a few of my buddies today. We’re thinking of having you join us for dinner sometime when you’re free.”
