After finishing Gary’s treatment, Victoria and Jackson left the neighborhood.

On the way back to Brightstar Entertainment, Victoria asked, “By the way, Jack, do you know how your mom ended up saving Gary?”
Jackson thought for a moment. “My mom mentioned it to me before. I remember a bit.
“All I know is that someone forced Gary to drink toxic chemicals, which severely burned and damaged his throat. My mom rescued him and arranged for someone to teach him sign language.
“From what my mom told me, she originally wanted to find him a position suited for someone with hearing and speech impairments, but Gary refused. He insisted on becoming her bodyguard instead.”
Victoria said, “Wait, could it be that all twenty–four bodyguards your mom left you are people she once helped?”
Jackson replied, “I’ve wondered about that too, but I never actually asked them.”
Victoria thought about her own crew. A lot of them had been helped by her as well, which is why they were so loyal and willing to stick by her side.
And then there were those with hidden talents, people she’d discovered and given a real shot to show what they could do.
After Victoria and Jackson left, Gary used sign language to ask Stephen. [Are you going to Mr. Binder’s birthday party?]
He had overheard Stephen and Jackson chatting earlier while he was in the room.
Stephen had already tucked away the birthday invitation. He nodded. “Yeah.”
He didn’t admit that he was really going just to see what his grandfather was like.
Instead, he made up an excuse. “Mr. Binder gave me a shot at acting, and I’m really grateful. I want to celebrate her birthday and wish her well in person.”
Gary looked at him thoughtfully and sighed, [Then why didn’t you get me an invitation too?]
Stephen looked troubled. “Like I said, I’m really grateful to Mr. Binder. I really don’t want anything to mess up her birthday party.
“Gary, if you’re planning to settle the score with Gerry for your mom, maybe you should pick another time.”
Gary didn’t say anything more after hearing that.
He wondered, ‘Should I look for another chance?

‘Gerry hardly ever left his place these days, and whenever he did, he was always flanked by a pack of bodyguards. How could I ever get a shot at him?
‘Maybe the only chance is at Jackson and Victoria’s wedding. Works for me.’
He could use that moment to finally confirm if Gerry was the one who orchestrated Chloe’s death.
If it really was him, no matter how hard it got, he would never let Gerry get away with it.
After a long pause, Gary finally signed, [I understand. Mr. Binder helped me recover. I won’t repay kindness with betrayal by ruining her birthday party and making things difficult for her.]
Stephen let out a quiet sigh of relief. “Thank goodness Gary accepted that reason. At least now I’ve got a bit more time to find out for myself if my grandfather really had anything to do with my mom’s death,‘ he thought.
“Victoria, your evening gown is ready.” As soon as Victoria walked in, Daisy rushed over, grabbed her hand, and pulled her to the sofa, pointing at the dress lying there. “Come on, take a look. What do you think?”
Hector couldn’t help but add, “You weren’t home, and your mom must’ve stared at that dress a thousand times, just hoping you’d come back and tell her if you liked it.”
Victoria glanced down. It looked just like the design she’d seen before–a light blue, shimmery, embroidered strapless gown. The material felt super luxurious, so the whole thing had an amazing vibe.
Daisy watched Victoria, looking a bit anxious.
After checking it out, Victoria couldn’t help but gush. “Wow, this is absolutely stunning. It looks even better than the design. Mom, you really have an amazing eye for style.”
Daisy blushed at the praise. “As long as you like it, that’s all that matters.”
Victoria sat down next to her, gently running her fingers over the dress. “Mom, I’m totally going to hype up your designs at my birthday party.”
Daisy looked even more embarrassed. “No need, you’re the star of the show.”
“Mom, how’s your fashion design studio coming along?” Victoria asked, turning to her.
Daisy replied, “I just picked out the location and signed the lease. I’m getting someone to draw up the renovation plans in the next few days, and then we’ll start the renovation.”
“With your taste and talent, Mom, your studio is going to be swamped with orders. If you keep at it, I really think you could turn it into a new luxury fashion brand,” Victoria said, her tone full of conviction.
Victoria’s praise made Daisy feel her confidence coming back after being away from fashion design for so long. “I’m definitely going to stick with it.
“I meant what I said–no matter what event or party, I’ll always design a unique evening gown just for you.”

Hector gave Daisy his most pathetic look. “Daisy, any plans to design men’s clothes? How about making me some custom suits too?”
Daisy shot him a glare. “I don’t have that much energy.”
Hector let out a dramatic sigh, looking utterly forlorn. “Ever since we had a daughter, I’m not your favorite anymore.”
Daisy couldn’t help but say, “You’re getting more and more shameless.”
Hector shot back, “Picked it up from our daughter.”
Victoria immediately said, “Yeah right. Dad, you’ve always been a closet goofball. Now you’re just letting it show.”
Daisy burst out laughing. “Whatever, you two.”
Once she’d had her fill of laughter, Daisy carefully hung up the evening gown herself, making sure it was safe. “We’ll bring it out again for your birthday party.”
Victoria blinked playfully. “Yeah, I’ll wow everyone again.”
“Miss Binder, Mrs. Binder, Mr. Binder, dinner’s ready,” Mabel called out from the kitchen, beaming at the happy family of three.
Ever since Victoria came back to the Binder family, the villa felt so much warmer and livelier.

After dinner, Victoria went to the herb garden to tend to the Immortal Herb and the other plants. As soon as she got back to her room, Mara called her.
She had the results of her investigation into Timothy and his mother.
“Boss, you asked me to look into Justin’s illegitimate son, Timothy, and his mother. I’ve got the info,” Mara said.
Victoria walked over to the window, gazing down at the thick layer of snow blanketing the ground. “Tell me what you found.”
Mara said, “Timothy’s mother, Ophelia Lowe, was actually pretty impressive. Back in her day, she got into a top–tier university as a poor student sponsored by Justin.
“She met Justin at a scholarship party, and her innocent looks quickly caught his eye. Her biggest scandal was becoming Justin’s mistress and climbing the ranks.
“After that, she kept her head down and never did anything to betray him. In fact, she even hooked him up with other young female students just to keep him happy.”
Victoria let out a cold laugh. “Timothy’s mom really knows how to play the long game. She even helped her man find other women.”

Mara replied, “Well, she already had a son. As long as she didn’t mess up, her son would inherit Justin’s fortune.
“She was terrified that if she did anything to betray Justin before her son took over Gale Entertainment, all her hard work would go down the drain. So she did everything she could to keep Justin happy.”
‘Looks like Ophelia isn’t the easy target I hoped for, unless I have Mara set a trap for her,‘ Victoria thought.
Victoria asked, “What about Timothy?”
Mara continued, “Timothy’s involved in a sensational murder case.”
