“What are you afraid of? I’m just here to see how tough your skull really is,” Victoria said.

As she spoke, Victoria grabbed Timothy’s head, her fingers digging into his skull like she was seriously testing how hard it was.
Timothy tried to fight back on instinct, but realized he couldn’t move a muscle.
“Victoria, what are you trying to do?” Timothy asked, his voice shaking with fear.
The others heard the commotion, but in the pitch–black room, they couldn’t see a thing.
They could tell Victoria was only targeting Timothy and had no intention of messing with anyone else, so they all kept quiet, just hoping nothing bad would happen in the dark.
Lexi was the only one in the room who wasn’t scared, because she knew Victoria would never hurt her.
But unexpectedly, a large hand pulled Lexi close, and Nathan leaned in, saying in a low voice by her ear, “Are you scared?”
It was Nathan.
Lexi paused for a moment, then said quietly, pretending to be scared, “A little.”
“If you’re scared, come closer,” Nathan said.
“Alright,” Lexi replied, and she had no choice but to move closer, acting like she was scared, ending up right next to him.
‘Did it move her?‘ Lexi thought to herself. ‘Ha, of course not.
She knew exactly what Nathan was like. He only saw her as something he owned.
This kind of fake, cheap concern? Lexi wasn’t about to be touched by it.
Meanwhile, Zachary was getting nervous about his own safety. He’d had his arm around Angelica, but now he was curled up on the couch, putting Angelica between himself and whatever trouble might come.
Angelica clenched her jaw, cursing him in her head, ‘Just a minute ago, he was vowing to get revenge on Victoria for me. Now look at him–such a chicken.’
Victoria answered Timothy’s question, acting like she didn’t care who was watching. “Nothing, really. Like I said, I’m just here to test how hard your skull is.”
“Why are you even testing my skull?” Timothy stammered, his voice shaky with fear.
“Obviously, it’s for…” Victoria dragged out the words, then leaned in and whispered so only Timothy could hear, “that innocent kid you accused of not having a tough enough skull.”

Chapter 328
Timothy was stunned for a moment.
At first, he didn’t get it, but when it finally dawned on him, he went completely rigid.

‘Is she talking about that night two years ago, when I was drunk driving and crashed into that family of three?‘ Timothy thought.
‘But… how the hell does she know about that?‘ he wondered.
“Are you… are you trying to get revenge for them?” Timothy asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
Victoria kept pressing down hard on Timothy’s head, sometimes even smacking or knocking it. “Yeah, so what? Scared now?”
“Who were those three people to you?” Timothy asked.
“I don’t know them,” Victoria replied.
“Then why are you getting revenge for people you don’t even know?” Timothy just couldn’t understand why she’d bother with some strangers.
“Well, I happened to hear about it, and I just needed a reason to go after you,” Victoria said, knocking on his head again.
Timothy gritted his teeth. “Victoria, do you really think you’re still that small–town girl you used to be? Why get your hands dirty for people you don’t even care about?
“It’s not worth the trouble. Just let me go, and I’ll make sure all the dirt about Brian and Stephen gets wiped from the internet.”
Victoria let out a soft laugh. “Timothy, is that all the backbone you’ve got? Guess your bones aren’t as tough as your big mouth after all.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Victoria let go of Timothy’s head. He was drenched in sweat, and he let out a huge sigh of relief.
But before he could even catch his breath, something heavy slammed into his head.
Timothy screamed in pain.
At the same time, the sound of glass shattering echoed through the darkness.
Judging by the sound, Timothy had just gotten hit in the head with a bottle.
There was a collective gasp in the room, but nobody dared to utter a word.
In the darkness, they could barely move, and none of them were a match for Victoria. Making a move would only put themselves in danger.
Even Nathan stayed silent.

“Alright, Timothy, I’ll let you keep your life–for now,” Victoria said, straightening up. Even though the room was pitch black, she moved unerringly toward the door, not hesitating for a second.
As Victoria stepped out into the hallway, the darkness outside suddenly lit up with a faint glow.
It turned out to be fireflies.
The fireflies clustered together, forming a glowing signpost that showed Victoria the way, letting her slip out of the darkness with ease.
Nathan shouted, “Stop her!”
No one answered him. Victoria just snickered. “Nathan, have you even looked at where you stand right now?
“You think you can stop me? Why don’t you worry about keeping the guests at Midnight Blue under control tonight before you try anything with me?”
Her footsteps echoed down the hallway, growing fainter with every step.
On the first floor, the dance hall was buzzing with anxious guests.
“Where’s Mr. Clark? What the hell is going on tonight? Why hasn’t he come out and given us some answers?” someone shouted.
“Yeah. Why did the power just cut out all of a sudden? Is this some kind of twisted game or something?” another person chimed in.
“Someone better tell us what’s going on tonight.” someone else demanded.
The crowd, who’d been restless and complaining, suddenly stopped and stared as a faint light appeared in the distance, getting brighter as it came closer. Everyone craned their necks, curiosity all over their faces.
“What is that? Why is it glowing?” someone blurted out.
“I think I saw this in a book once,” another person muttered.
“Wait, it’s fireflies. Yeah, they’re called fireflies,” someone shouted.
“Wow, so fireflies really exist? I’ve never seen one before, not in all my years,” another person said, totally amazed.
“Where did these fireflies even come from?” someone asked, sounding confused.
“Beats me,” another person replied.
Amid all the chatter, a shadowy figure showed up near the glowing light.
“Hey, there’s someone,” someone shouted.
“Yeah, I see them,” another person called out.

Victoria followed the fireflies, gliding confidently under the gaze of the crowd, and walked out of Midnight Blue’s territory.
“Is it just me, or does that look like Victoria?” someone said.
“Yeah, that’s definitely her. She came to Midnight Blue looking for Timothy, didn’t she? And remember, there were rumors she could control poisonous bugs, snakes, and ants.” another person added.
“Holy crap, she’s insane,” someone else blurted out.
“So, she’s the one who caused the blackout at Midnight Blue tonight,” someone exclaimed.
“That’s even more insane. This is Mr. Clark’s turf. She just made the whole place go dark with a snap of her fingers. How the hell did she pull that off?” another person asked, totally blown away.
“Only Victoria knows for sure, but if she can control bugs, snakes, and ants, maybe she used some of those weird things to cause the blackout,” someone else suggested.
“That actually makes sense,” another person agreed.

Inside the exclusive VIP suite, after Victoria left, everyone was still too terrified to utter a single word.
Nathan was the only one who moved. He kicked the coffee table over in a fit of rage and stormed out of the suite.
Outside the suite, Nathan glared at his bodyguards as they struggled to get up off the floor. He slammed his foot down on one guy’s chest and snarled, “Useless.”
Nathan raged inside, ‘Victoria just waltzed out of my territory like it was nothing.
‘That’s a straight–up slap to my face. This is going to wreck my reputation–and Midnight Blue’s standing in Benwig City is gonna take a serious blow.
‘I need to get to the bottom of how Victoria pulled off that blackout at Midnight Blue.‘
The assistant, using his phone as a flashlight, gave Lexi a look and rushed after Nathan.
After what seemed like ages, the suite suddenly lit up again. Everyone finally saw the mess right in front of them.
Timothy was curled up on the couch, clutching his head with both hands. Blood was smeared all over his head and dripping onto the couch, making the whole scene look nasty and brutal.
