Ophelia felt like all the strength had been sucked out of her as she stumbled into the room. She tried to act normal, forcing a weak smile as she said to Justin, “Honey, you’re off today?”

Before she could finish, Lexi, lounging on the couch, let out a scornful laugh. “Yeah, my dad took the day off just for you. Does that make you happy or what?”

Ophelia pushed through her fear and replied, “Really? I’m just so happy.”

Justin’s face was dark and menacing. He glared at Ophelia and said coldly, “You’re not leaving the house today. Stay put.”

Ophelia hurried to say, “That’s what I was planning anyway. I just want to spend some time with our son, one last time.”

As she spoke, tears streamed down her face like a flood.

Lexi smirked, her lips curling with mockery. “Are you sure that’s really your son with my dad? Or is he actually Ted’s kid?”

Ophelia stared at Lexi in disbelief, her face full of hurt. “Lexi, how could you say that?

“I know you’ve always resented me, and you think I killed your mom, but I swear I didn’t. Your dad and I truly loved each other. Why can’t you just believe me?”

“Oh, truly loved each other so much that you gave birth to another man’s child while married to my dad? I’m honestly so moved,” Lexi said, her voice thick with sarcasm.

This time, she didn’t even bother to get angry at Ophelia’s act because she knew Ophelia was truly finished this time.

No matter how much Ophelia tried to put on a show for Justin, it was useless now.

She’d crossed the one line no man could ever forgive.

Ophelia didn’t want Lexi to keep controlling the drama, so she turned to Justin, tears streaming down her face, and cried, “Honey, you know how much I care about you.

Justin’s face stayed cold as he replied, “I trusted you because I believed you loved me. I never even questioned if Timothy was really my son.”

Ophelia sobbed, “He is your son…”

“Then why is he crying like his heart’s being torn out?” Justin roared, hurling his phone at Ophelia in a fit of rage.

Ophelia threw up her arms to shield her head, barely avoiding getting knocked out. But the blow to her elbow still hurt like hell, showing just how hard he’d thrown it.

“I’ve already sent the samples for a paternity test. The results will be out tomorrow. You’re staying home today. Let’s see if Timothy is really my son, or if he’s actually Ted’s kid. Justin finished and then kicked Ted, who was one his knees.

Ted let out a muffled groan and rolled across the floor.

“If he’s Ted’s son, you both know what’s coming.” Justin snapped, his anger finally spent. Then he turned to Lexi.

Lexi smirked, her lips curling with a hint of sarcasm. “Dad, why are you staring at me? What, you think I’m not your real daughter too? Honestly, I wouldn’t mind doing a paternity test right now if you’re so paranoid.”

His face turned even darker as he warned, “Don’t air our dirty laundry outside.”

Lexi burst out laughing. “Do I even need to? Dad, the netizens already dug up everything. Isn’t that how you finally realized Ophelia played you?”

She gave a pitying smile. “Karma’s a bitch, huh? You cheated on my mom with a woman who knew she was the side chick and still went for it, then called it true love? That’s hilarious.”

Justin slammed his hand on the armrest, his face twisted with rage. “Lexi!”

“Why are you so mad? Don’t tell me you still expect me to respect you.” Lexi’s eyes went cold, her lips curled in a mocking smile.

She continued, “Did you really think I went along with your schemes, including marrying Nathan, because I actually care about you as my father?

“If I got Nathan to fall for me, the first thing I’d do is make him help me take back the company my mom fought for against you. Not help you grow it just so you can hand it over to your illegitimate kid.”

Ignoring Justin’s face getting uglier by the second, Lexi kept twisting the knife. “Oh, and now you find out Timothy isn’t even your real son. You almost ended up making another guy rich.”

Justin was so choked up by Lexi’s words that he could barely get a word out. He pointed at her, stammering, “You…”

Lexi didn’t even flinch. “Stop stammering and actually think for once. Ophelia’s just after your money.

“Why else would she risk having another man’s kid? Do you really believe a woman as greedy as her could ever truly love you?

“Did it ever cross your mind that maybe you can’t father a child anymore, so Ophelia had to do what she did?

“So, don’t kid yourself about having a son at your age. I’m your only daughter. If you still won’t hand the company over to me, then you can watch everyone else carve it up for themselves.”

With that, Lexi stood up, shot one last mocking look at the pale–faced Ophelia, and walked out of this suffocating, toxic house with a smirk.

“Honey, you have to believe me. I risked my life for you.” Ophelia tried to walk over, but Justin kicked her so hard she was knocked to the ground.

Ophelia was caught off guard and hit the floor hard.

She looked up in disbelief, staring at Justin, whose eyes were icy cold, all the warmth from before completely gone.

“Get out! If it weren’t for you saving me once, I’d have finished you off right now–wouldn’t even bother waiting for tomorrow’s test results. Ted already confessed. You really did hook up with him,” Justin snapped.

Ophelia was stunned and then looked at Ted in utter despair.

Ted cowered on the floor, not daring to meet Ophelia’s eyes.

With all the evidence and confessions piling up, there was no way Justin could still be fooled by Ophelia.

Victoria answered after a moment.
