When Jackson noticed Gavin walking toward him, his eyes darkened for a moment. He then turned to Gerry and said, Grandpa, you go in first!

Gerry instantly recognized Gavin as he approached. He gave Gavin a cool glance, said nothing, and let Alonso help him as he slowly walked toward the Binder family’s main door.

Gavin walked up to Jackson and stopped in front of him. His expression was terribly dark, carrying a hint of hostility.

“Jackson, I must admit I’m not your match right now,” Gavin said, his voice thick with resentment. “But I’ll never give up on Victoria. If you ever treat her even a little badly, I will definitely take advantage and make her my woman again.”

Jackson stayed perfectly calm in the face of Gavin’s challenge. The corners of his lips lifted in a faint, confident smile as he replied, “I’m afraid you won’t get that chance.”

Jackson’s calm only made Gavin even more furious. “What makes you think so? Can you really promise you’ll treat her well for the rest of your life?”

Jackson’s smile remained. His gaze was steady and confident. “I don’t need to make any promises. If I ever lost her, it’d be like losing every bit of wealth I have; she’s everything to me.”

“What do you mean?” Gavin asked, puzzled.

Jackson explained. “I’m thinking just like you. I plan to give her something practical for her birthday. You’re just offering her a slice of your shares, but I’m putting my entire fortune on the table.”

Gavin was stunned. “Wait, are you saying if you ever cheat on her, she’ll get everything you own?” Jackson just smiled and didn’t say a word.

“Jackson! No way you’d actually go through with that!” Gavin scoffed, unable to believe the heir to Benwig City’s top family would make such a promise.

Then realization dawned on him. “I get it now. You dare make such a promise to Victoria because it’s nothing more than an empty promise you can’t possibly fulfill.

“Because it’s not certain you’ll be the heir of the Thornton family. If you fail to become the heir, what assets could a cripple like you possibly have?

“This is nothing but an empty promise. Great, so you’re actually extremely cunning! Victoria won’t get any benefits from being with you!” Gavin said with righteous indignation.

But Jackson just smiled, totally unfazed. “It’ll be written in the contract. If I become the heir to the Thornton family, the promise kicks in. Otherwise, my engagement to Vickie can be called off.”

Gavin’s eyes instantly lit up at that. If Jackson really loses out on the Thornton family inheritance, I’ll still have a chance, he thought.

“Guess you do have some balls! Well, I hope you never become the Thornton family heir and keep rolling around in that wheelchair, crippled for life!” Gavin scoffed, pushing the suitcase right at Jackson.

“These are the gifts I wanted to give Victoria previously, but mostly she didn’t accept. I tossed in this year’s birthday present, too. Just hand them over to her for me.”

With that, without waiting for Jackson’s reply, Gavin spun around and jumped into his sports car. The engine roared, and he was gone in a flash.

Ollie, pushing Jackson’s wheelchair, watched Gavin’s car peel out and said, “Jackson, he talked to you in such a manner, want me to rough him up a bit?”

Jackson just smiled faintly, totally unfazed by Gavin’s rudeness. “It doesn’t bother me. I’m a guy in a wheelchair right now,

“So, what about these gifts?” Ollie asked, looking at the suitcase Gavin had dumped.

Jackson replied. “I never agreed to deliver for him.”

Just then, a clear, lively voice sounded, “Jackson!” Jackson turned to see a girl in a white down jacket running toward them. She had a red scarf wrapped around her neck, standing out vividly against the snow.

Jackson waved her over and called out. “Annie, come over.”

Hearing Jackson call out, Annie sped up and jogged over to him. She adjusted her red scarf, stuffed her hands into her down jacket pockets, and flashed Jackson a bright grin. “What’s up, Jackson?”

Jackson pointed at the suitcase before him and said, “Gavin just tossed these gifts here. Can you deal with them?”

“Are these for Victoria?” Annie asked.

Jackson nodded. “Yeah, the gifts Victoria once declined.”

“He actually brought back the gifts Victoria declined? As usual, what a I weirdo! Don’t worry, Jackson, I’ll handle this junk!” Annie said, dragging the suitcase over to her car and stashing it in the trunk.

After that, Annie headed back and walked inside with Jackson, following him into the Binder family’s residence.

“Mr. Thornton, Miss Thornton, please come in,” Patrick said, taking their invitations, casually glancing at them, and handing them right back.

Annie walked alongside Jackson, passing through the carefully and beautifully decorated courtyard, all the way to Goldenwood Villa.

This birthday party was somewhat different from the previous welcome party. The welcome party was held in the central hall of a dedicated event venue, whereas this time it was held directly in the living room of Goldenwood Villa.

Last time, it was mainly a buffet–style setup, whereas this time, it was arranged with seated tables. There were far fewer people than last time, and there were only five tables in total.

For this birthday party, a professional music ensemble had also been invited to perform on site. The music was elegant and pleasing, and the whole atmosphere was warm and harmonious.

“Grandpa’s over there!” Annie said excitedly, pointing at Gerry, who was sitting with Calvin. Her face was all smiles, but as she glanced at the rest of the table, she suddenly gasped, “Wow, Curtis and his family members are at Grandpa’s table too!”

At Gerry’s table, besides him, were Darell, Simon, Curtis, and Sirena. Stephen was there as well, sharing the table with them.

Jackson glanced at the people around the table, a faint smile playing on his lips, “This seating arrangement is indeed intriguing, he thought. “Let’s go check it out,” he said.

“Sure!” Annie replied cheerfully, bouncing over to the table. Jackson slid into the vacant seat next to Gerry, and Annie settled in right beside him. As soon as they were seated, Annie glanced around the table, her eyes eventually settling on Stephen.

Stephen caught her gaze and looked right back at her. Feeling a little self–conscious, Annie quickly looked away, then turned to whisper to Jackson, “Jackson, isn’t that Stephen Scott, the star from the entertainment world? What’s he doing here? Is he
