Seeing this, Daisy and Hector felt relieved. Honestly, even though they knew Victoria was outstanding and could take care of herself, as parents, they still didn’t want their daughter to get hurt after marriage.

Angelica, who had been leaning against Zachary, finally gave a dismissive snort and sat up straight. She honestly could no longer stand Zachary, who was just a spoiled rich kid with no real power and stingy to the bone.

But what really blew her mind was that Jackson would actually go this far for Victoria. She actually agreed with Zachary that Jackson’s brain really is busted as his legs.

After seeing Jackson’s gift, Annie handed over her own. “Victoria, this is my gift. It’s just a small token; hope you like it.”

She scratched her cheek and said, “Honestly, I had no clue what to get you. I figured you’re probably not short of anything, so I went with something simple. It’s a complete set of Christian Louboutin lipsticks, with every color they carry!”

“Perfect timing, I’m running out of lipstick,” Victoria said as she took the gift. Then she carefully looked Jackson up and down, appreciating his strikingly handsome looks. “You look very handsome today, Jack; so handsome it really caught my eye.”

“As long as you like it, that’s all that matters. I dressed up just for you,” Jackson replied with a gentle smile. “You look gorgeous, too, Vickie.”

At this moment, the villagers who had already returned to their tables started teasing and cheering, saying, “Victoria, you and your man are looking at each other so affectionately that I feel like shouting for you two to kiss.”

Victoria wasn’t shy at all. She shot back, “If you guys want to see it, just wait for Jack and my wedding. You’ll get your fill then.”

“Really? Make sure it’s a five–minute kiss!” someone shouted.

Everyone cracked up. Annie showed a thoroughly delighted expression. ‘Man, the villagers are so unrestrained,‘ she thought. People like them wouldn’t normally shout out so high–profile. But of course, she enjoyed seeing it, too.

While she was snickering, she caught a glimpse out of the corner of her eye of Stephen standing diagonally behind Jackson. She saw that he lowered his gaze, but had no idea what he was thinking.

“Hey, aren’t you going to give your gift?” Annie reminded him. Stephen snapped back to reality, glanced at Annie, then stepped forward and handed over the gift bag.

He gave her a pair of his–and–hers mugs, each printed with a cute cartoon version of Victoria and Jackson. He sincerely hoped that Victoria and Jackson would be happy for a lifetime, a couple bound together, inseparable.

Victoria shifted her gaze from Jackson to Stephen, accepted the gift with a polite smile and a nod. “Thank you.”

After handing over his gift, Jackson led Annie back to their table. Stephen also followed them back to his seat.

Just then. Simon turned to Curtis and said, “Let’s give our gifts.”

Curtis nodded and stood up. Seeing that their father, Darell, and their aunt, Sirena, didn’t move, Simon asked, “Dad, Aunt Sirena, aren’t you guys going to give your gifts?”

Darell replied. “No rush. I’ll give my gift later.”

The “gift” he planned for his troublesome daughter was to release the video of his wife, Julia, being kidnapped and abused, hoping to escalate the conflict between Julia and Victoria.

Sirena said straight out, “I don’t have any money to buy gifts. If it’s too cheap, I’m afraid my niece would turn her nose up at it, so forget it.”

“Dad, don’t say that. I really don’t have any money now,” Sirena replied, clearly annoyed. Then she added with biting

“Well, that’s what happens when you hand over all the family fortune to your precious niece.”

‘Anyway, Darell has said he’d deal with Victoria at this birthday party and return to the Binder family. When this old man has no one to lean on, I won’t have to deal with his moods anymore,‘ she thought.

Calvin shot her a frosty look and said, “You really have the nerve to say that? No matter how much I give you, you burn through it all.” Sirena just pouted and stopped retorting.

Just as Jackson sat down at the table, Darell pretended to be all sincere, but his face was full of suspicion as he asked, “Jackson, you’re being so generous to my daughter, willing to hand over your entire fortune as a gift. Did Gerry actually agree to it?”

His words cut straight at Jackson like a knife, obviously trying to stir up trouble between him and Gerry. Annie flared up instantly. She slammed on the table and snapped, “What do you mean? Are you seriously trying to mess things up between Jackson and Grandpa?”

Darell quickly waved his hands and explained, “No, no, really, that’s not what I meant. I was trying to give some friendly advice. Trust me, ending up with nothing as I did? That’s rough.”

He looked genuinely bitter and helpless, as if he were reliving his own sad history. But Annie wasn’t having any of it. She snapped, “You made your own bed! Why did you abandon your own daughter? Don’t play the victim; Jackson’s nothing like you!”

Even though Annie sounded tough, she wasn’t so confident deep down. She really didn’t know if Grandpa would actually agree to what Jackson was doing.
