Simon and Curtis noticed the commotion around their father, Darell, but to keep Victoria from being upset, they decided to let things slide and didn’t step in to help him out.

Darel had no choice but to swallow his pride and get up from the floor, grudgingly dragging his chair back to his seat.

Before sitting down, he shot a glance at Jackson, making sure he wasn’t about to do anything else.

Simon handed over his gift first. “Vickie, happy birthday. I really put a lot of thought into this gift for you. I’m honestly just grateful you were willing to invite me to your birthday party.”

Victoria smirked, her tone teasing. “So, is this one pricier than the gift you gave Angelica back then?”

Simon’s face went pale, and he didn’t know what to say.

After a long pause, he said awkwardly, “Vickie, I’m a bit tight on money right now, every year–double.”

Victoria took the gift from him with a blank face, a disdainful sneer curling at her lips.

She tossed it aside without a second thought, as if it were nothing but something trivial.

Her gaze shifted to Curtis, fixing him with a cold, piercing look. “So, Curtis, what did you bring for me?”

Curtis hadn’t expected Victoria to call him out like that. He fumbled in his pocket for a while before finally pulling out the gift he’d prepared. Nervously, he handed her the prayer beads bracelet and explained, “This… this is for you. It’s a blessed prayer bead bracelet. I hope it brings you peace and protection always.”

Victoria’s lips curled into a mocking smile as she cut Curtis off. “Oh? You want to protect me for life? Honestly, if it weren’t for your family, I wouldn’t have to worry about my life in the first place.”

Curtis’s face turned deathly pale, his lips trembling as he tried to defend himself, but he couldn’t find the words.

After a long, awkward silence, Curtis finally managed to choke out, his voice bitter, “I… I’m sorry, Vickie.”

But Victoria clearly wasn’t having it. She waved him off coldly, telling him to just drop it.

Seeing Victoria’s cold, ruthless attitude, Curtis and Simon looked like the life had been drained right out of them. They slumped back to their seats, totally crushed.

Darell stared at his two sons, so frustrated he could scream. He just couldn’t believe how useless they were.

Once Jackson and the others returned to the table, Victoria handed the gift back to her beautiful mom, Daisy. She scanned the familiar faces around her and said, “Thank you all for coming to celebrate my twenty–second birthday.”

“This is my first birthday since coming back to the Binder family, so my parents really pulled out all the stops. They started planning a month ago, and as you can see, the whole place–even the outside walls–has been decked out,” she continued.

“Even this evening gown I’m wearing was designed by my mom herself. It’s unique. There’s nothing else like it in the world.

“And my mom has decided to get back into fashion design and open her own studio. So if anyone ever wants something custom–made, just reach out to her!” she proposed.

Annie couldn’t help but exclaim, “Wow, really? Your mom designed it? It’s gorgeous! I’m definitely getting my next evening gown from her, and I’ll totally spread the word. My girlfriends are gonna love it!”

Hearing her daughter praise her at the birthday party, and seeing the guests immediately respond with support, Daisy felt her eyes well up with emotion.

Victoria went on, “Everyone here is someone I truly care about, so tonight, just relax, eat, drink, and say whatever you want. No need to hold back.”

“Don’t worry, Victoria! We’re not gonna stand on ceremony with you! We’ll make sure not a single dish goes to waste tonight!” the folks from the village shouted out.

Then, the Binder family’s kitchen staff and servants started bringing out the dishes, and everyone grabbed their forks and started eating.

Her eyes were burning with spite as she waited for the chaos to unfold.

Nathan held his wine glass, his usually icy expression tinged with anticipation. A barely noticeable smirk played at the corners of his lips.

“No one touched the AC. The temperature’s still normal,” someone else said.

“Crap it’s getting even hotter,” another guy muttered.

“Zachary, your face looks really flushed,” Angelica said, tilting her head back, her forehead slick with sweat.

“Is it?” Zachary touched his face–it was burning up. He glanced at Nathan. “Mr. Clark, your face is pretty red, too.”

Angelica was already squirming in her seat, unable to sit still. “What’s going on? Is it just me, or is the booze hitting way harder than usual tonight?”

Nathan started feeling it himself–the heat, the restlessness.

Watching Angelica squirm, a sudden sense of dread washed over him.

He recognized those symptoms; he’d seen them before in the women he’d tested the drug on.

Suddenly, the door to the private suite burst open, and the manager of Midnight Blue rushed in, looking panicked.
