The assistant was also burning up and weak, unable to even support Nathan. He could only reply weakly, “Ms. Lowe just went out to take a call.”
Just then, Nathan’s phone rang.
Secing it was Lexi calling, Nathan answered with a trembling hand. “Come back to the private room and find me.”
But Lexi seemed not to hear him and continued, “Sorry, Nathan. Something happened with my dad. I need to go back and check on him. I can’t stay with you tonight.”
“I’m telling you to come back-,” Nathan said.
Before Nathan could finish, Lexi hung up.
“Damn it!” Nathan cursed to himself.
“The one time I need Lexi, she’s nowhere to be found!‘ Nathan thought bitterly.
He crushed his phone in his hand and glared at the assistant. “Bring me the antidote.”
“A–Antidote? What antidote?” the assistant stammered, confused.
“What do you think? The antidote for that new drug we just made!” Nathan nearly roared the last words.
The assistant panicked. “Mr. Clark, are we under the effect of that drug? But… we don’t have a specific antidote…”
The manager who came to report was stunned. “T–Then what do we do? With such a serious problem, Midnight Blue is in big trouble…”
Nathan was in no shape to deal with the crisis at Midnight Blue, Realizing this, he quickly called Jane.
Soon, the call connected.
“Grandma, something’s wrong at Midnight Blue. I–I can’t handle it. You need to come and take care of it…” Nathan said.
After giving the instructions, Nathan hung up.
He was burning up inside, and there was no time to explain any further.
Before he completely lost control, Nathan’s gaze locked onto Angelica, who was being kissed by Zachary. He rasped, “Angelica, come here and take care of me…”
Hearing this, Angelica, still holding onto a shred of sanity, was thrilled. She happily shoved Zachary aside and sauntered over to Nathan, her eyes sultry as she straddled him. “Alright, Mr. Clark…”
The girl Zachary almost had slipped away, and his last bit of reason kept him from going up against Nathan. Restless, he headed out of the private room like the other lackeys, eager to find someone else to take care of his needs.

After hanging up, Lexi turned to Mara in the driver’s seat and let out a sigh of relief. “Thanks for the heads–up. If you hadn’t warned me, I probably would’ve fallen for it too.”
From Nathan’s voice just now, Lexi guessed he had already been drugged.

Half an hour ago, not long after Victoria’s birthday party started, Lexi got a call. She used the excuse that the private room was too noisy and stepped out into the hallway to answer.
The caller warned her. “Ms. Lowe, the drinks in your private room are about to be spiked with a new drug developed by the Clark family. Don’t drink any, and make sure you find an excuse to leave before Nathan feels the effects.”
So, when Lexi noticed Nathan and the others‘ faces turning red, she immediately made an excuse to step out for some air and left.
Mara said coolly. “No need to thank me. The boss made sure of it.”
Hearing that, Lexi’s worry melted away, her eyes lighting up with joy as she couldn’t help but smile.
It looked like there was no problem on Victoria’s side.
It wasn’t that there was no problem at all. On the contrary, she had turned the tables on Nathan. She really was as formidable as ever.
“I’m heading out now. After all, I just told Nathan I was going back to check on my dad,” Lexi said, slipping her phone away with a resigned shrug.
If she had the chance, she’d love to catch a glimpse of Nathan making a total mess of himself right now.
Too bad she couldn’t completely cut ties with Nathan just yet.
Mara’s expression stayed cool. “Alright, I’ll keep an eye on things at Midnight Blue.”
Once Lexi got out of the car, Mara called one of her men.
“How’s the situation inside Midnight Blue?” Mara asked.
“Fifty–six people got dosed, including Nathan and the others. The rest are all clients tied to the Clark family, just like the boss wanted. Now the drug’s hit full force. Guys and girls are all desperately trying to satisfy their urges, and the place has turned into a total orgy. I’ve recorded everything and uploaded it to the cloud in real time. Tomorrow, it’ll blow up online,” the man replied.
“Good,” Mara said.
After hanging up, Mara glanced at Midnight Blue.
They really had the nerve to use that drug on my boss and her friends? They have no idea who they’re messing with, Mara thought coldly.
Just wait, Midnight Blue is going to get shut down tomorrow!‘ Mara thought.
With that, Mara looked away, slammed on the gas, and sped off.

Simon and Curtis froze, both turning toward the door. “Mom…” Simon called out.

Julia barged in, jabbing her finger at Victoria and yelling. “You cold–blooded wretch! You even kidnapped your own mother and had them torment me!”
Simon jumped up and rushed over, grabbing Julia’s arm. “Mom, it’s Vickie’s birthday party. Why are you causing a scene here?”
Julia yanked her arm free from Simon. “Causing a scene? You’re my son, and you dare ask me that?”
“I went all the way to Mullinran Village to find you, but you wouldn’t come back with me. So when I went home alone, that evil brat Victoria had me kidnapped! Do you even know what I’ve been through these past few days?” Julia shouted.
At that. Julia pressed her hand to her eyes in agony, not even daring to remember what had happened to her.
She wasn’t pretending; her pain was genuine, coming straight from the heart.
Victoria kept trying to explain that she wasn’t the one behind the kidnapping; it was actually her husband, Darell.
But Julia refused to believe her.
Simon pleaded, “Mom, what reason would Vickie have to kidnap you out of nowhere?”
Curtis hurried over as well. “Yeah, Mom, it’s Vickie’s birthday party. Don’t make a fuss here.”
“All you ever say is I’m making a scene!” Julia cried, her voice trembling with anger. “Will you only believe me when I’m dead?”
Just then, Darell stepped forward and said, “Didn’t you notice how thin your mother has gotten?”
Simon and Curtis were stunned, only now realizing just how much weight their mother had lost.
“Wait…” Simon hesitated.
“Mom, is that why you haven’t been back? Were you really kidnapped?” Curtis asked.
“Why would I lie to you?” Julia said, pulling off her scarf. “Look at these wounds. I was abused nonstop, day and night. If I hadn’t kept thinking about you, I never would’ve had the strength to escape and make it back.”
She wiped away her tears and jabbed her finger at Victoria, shouting again, “It was her–your sister! She went out of her way to have me kidnapped and tortured!”
