Victoria just shrugged, totally unfazed by Julia’s dramatic accusations. “Julia, do you have any proof? Why would I go out of my way to have you kidnapped and tortured?”

I heard the kidnappers talking to you on the phone myself!” Julia shot back.

“Seriously? Victoria would hire kidnappers to snatch you, and then make sure you knew she was behind it? Use your head, Julia. Stephan couldn’t help but snark.

Simon was mortified. He grabbed Julia’s hand and whispered, “Mom, even if I want to believe you, without any proof, it’s hard for us to believe Vickie did this. Can you please stop making a scene?”

Julia’s eyes were full of disappointment. “Simon… I’m so disappointed in you. Are you really going to trust Victoria–the one who ruined me like this–over your mother, who’s cared for you for twenty–seven years?”

“It’s not that I don’t want to believe you, but your side of the story just isn’t convincing,” Simon said, gripping Julia’s wrist tightly. “Mom, please, I’m begging you, stop making a scene and just leave now, okay?”

Julia yanked her hand away. “I’m not leaving! If Victoria doesn’t give me an explanation today, no one’s getting off easy!”

“That’s enough! Julia, today is Vickie’s birthday banquet. If you were really kidnapped, you should be at the police station, not stirring up drama here!” Daisy scolded her sternly.

Hector’s voice was icy as he barked, “Milton, get your people and kick her out!”

The villagers all stood up, yelling at Julia.

“Get out! Don’t mess up Vickie’s birthday!”

“What kind of mother are you? You’re not even fit to be Vickie’s mom!”

“Too bad the kidnappers didn’t finish you off!”

The shouting from all sides pushed Julia to the brink of a breakdown.

“Shut up! You bunch of riffraff. I bet you’re all accomplices!” Julia snapped.

Simon was in no better shape. He felt completely drained, unable to move a muscle.

Darell just stood there, watching everything unfold with a cold, detached look.

‘Good, that’s exactly what I want, Darell thought.

‘Go on, Julia, make a scene. The bigger, the better,‘ he kept thinking.

“That way, when you die, everyone will think our little black sheep Victoria was the one who set it all up,‘ he wished inside.

Your death will finally serve a purpose, he hoped eagerly.

“Fine… Since none of you believe me, I’ll call the police and let them handle it. Victoria, you won’t get away with this!” Julia shot a look at Simon. “Simon, hand me your phone. I’m calling the cops!”

Simon said weakly, “Mom, you’re really embarrassing me!”

On the screen. Julia was on her knees, looking utterly disheveled as she ate scraps and drank swill. Her hair was a mess, her clothes were tattered–nothing like the elegant, refined woman everyone was used to seeing.

The whole room was stunned into dead silence.

Simon and Curtis stared at the screen in utter disbelief, unable to accept that the woman drinking swill was their mother, the one who always carried herself with such dignity.

Juha saw herself in that humiliating state, exposed in front of everyone. Her pride was crushed, and she broke down completely.

“Victoria! I hate you! I’m going to kill you!” Julia let out a piercing scream, her voice echoing through the living room and sending chills down everyone’s spine.

Before anyone could react, with all eyes glued to the screen, Julia suddenly shoved Simon and Curtis aside with surprising strength and charged at Victoria with a crazed fury, like a wild beast.

As she rushed forward, everyone was shocked to see her pull a knife from her clothes–a blade she’d been hiding all along. The knife flashed dangerously in the light, making everyone’s blood run cold.

Annie clutched Jackson’s sleeve, her voice shaky. “Jackson, Vickie’s in danger!”

Jackson just looked totally unfazed.

With Julia charging in like that, there’s no way she’d even scratch Vickie. She couldn’t hurt her even if she tried.

Vickie was just letting Julia go wild for now.

If Vickie hadn’t allowed it, Julia wouldn’t have even set foot in this place.

Victoria didn’t even need to do anything herself. Before Julia could get close, Calvin–standing right by her–struck with his cane, knocking the fruit knife clean out of her grip.

“Darell, get a hold of your wife!” Calvin barked, slamming his cane down on the floor.

The cane hit the floor with a loud crack, his anger echoing through the room.

But Julia wasn’t finished yet. She quickly pulled a glass bottle out of her bag, popped the stopper, and brandished it, poised to hurl it straight at Victoria.

But before she could let it fly, Ollie rushed over and snatched the bottle right out of her grip.

Ollie glanced down at the colorless, odorless liquid inside.

“I’m pretty sure this is sulfuric acid,” he said.

Calvin, absolutely livid, shot to his feet and swung his cane hard at Julia, striking her without hesitation.

“If you dare lay a finger on my precious granddaughter. I’ll make sure your whole family goes down with you, straight to hell!” he roared.

As everything unfolded, Daisy hugged Victoria close, while Hector stood in front of them, shielding thern.

Victoria quietly set down the silver needle she’d been holding.

Honestly, if Victoria had acted, Julia wouldn’t have even gotten close. She couldn’t have hurt her in the slightest.

But seeing her gorgeous mom and cool dad risk everything to protect her, Victoria felt truly touched.

“Grandpa, please, stop hitting her! If you need to take it out on someone, take it out on me. Mom’s already suffered enough.” Curtis pleaded.

As soon as Curtis realized what was happening, he spun around and rushed over, throwing himself in front of Julia to protect het.

Julia froze for a second. After everything she’d been through, she’d nearly lost all hope, but seeing her second son still care about her. her hope in her family sparked back to life.

That’s right! My boys and my husband really do care about me!‘ Julia thought.

Victoria must be lying to me!‘ she told herself.

It had to be Victoria who set me up. There’s no way Darell would do that!‘ Julia was sure of it.

But Calvin didn’t stop for a second. He had Milton shove Curtis out of the way and just kept whacking Julia with his cane, not holding back one bit.

Julia, ignoring the pain, kept shrieking like a lunatic, “Victoria, you ungrateful brat! Unless I’m dead, I’ll get my revenge on you, even if it kills me!”

“And those two shameless parents you picked. I won’t let either of them off the hook!” she shouted.

“If I’m going down, I’m taking all of you with me!

“I’ll haunt you for the rest of your lives! You’ll never know a moment’s peace!” she yelled.

Julia’s screams echoed through the living room.

The villagers all shot to their feet, pissed off at Julia’s threats.

“Seriously? Can’t you even treat your own daughter right? Getting kidnapped and tortured? You totally had it coming!” someone shouted.

“You think you can get revenge on Vickie? With what skills? Don’t make me laugh!” another jeered.

“If you really dare mess with Vickie, I’ll kill you myself!” someone else threatened.

The whole scene turned chaotic.

“You piece of trash! You got the guts to talk about revenge? Get her out of here!” Calvin roared, so pissed he grabbed his chest, nearly stumbled, and dropped into a chair.

“Mom, let me go for a sec. I need to check on Grandpa. I don’t want him getting too upset,” Victoria said.

Daisy reluctantly released her grip, her gaze fixed on Julia being dragged away.

Victoria gently patted Calvin’s back until he calmed down, then pulled out two silver needles and stuck them right into his temples.

Curtis got to his feet. “Grandpa, are you alright?”

He tried to approach, but Milton Lambert held him back.
