“Sorry, but Midnight Blue is closed for the night,” Miranda said to the rowdy customers.

“Mrs. Clark, what’s the deal with Midnight Blue? Who just shuts down business out of nowhere?” A burly man stepped forward, his face twisted with anger as he demanded an explanation.
“Yeah, we came all this way, and now you tell us it’s closed? Are you just playing us for fools?” another person chimed in. “Or is Midnight Blue hiding something shady?” someone else shouted, his tone full of sarcasm.
Miranda’s face darkened instantly. “Cut it out! Midnight Blue has always operated legally. There’s nothing shady going on here! The power outage issue from before still hasn’t been fully resolved, and it’s a potential risk, so we’re still investigating. We really can’t let anyone in tonight.”
“The power outage? Seriously, it’s been ages, and you still haven’t fixed it?” someone complained, sounding frustrated.
Miranda explained, “We’re already doing our best, but this kind of thing can’t be rushed. It takes time. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience tonight. But to show our sincerity, if you all come to Midnight Blue tomorrow night, everything will be free!”
“Everything’s free?” A chorus of surprised voices rose from the crowd.
Miranda nodded firmly. “That’s right, everything’s free! Just come by tomorrow night, and Midnight Blue will pick up the tab for all your expenses!”
Hearing this, the once–rowdy customers fell silent. They exchanged glances, clearly considering the offer.
“Alright, since Miranda said so, we’ll let it slide this time and come back tomorrow night,” someone finally spoke up.
The rest of the crowd chimed in, agreeing to return tomorrow night.
Miranda nodded in appreciation. “Thank you all for your understanding and support. Tomorrow night, we’ll make sure to give you the best service possible.”
Once the crowd had cleared out, Miranda turned and headed back inside Midnight Blue, instructing the bodyguards to lock down every entrance and exit.
“Stand guard at the doors. No one goes in or out, no exceptions!” she ordered.
From the manager, Miranda learned the full extent of the situation.
It turned out that, including her precious grandson Nathan, there were as many as fifty–six people who had been drugged with a new type of aphrodisiac secretly developed by the Clark family.
“This is outrageous!” Miranda exploded with anger. “Pull up the security footage right now! I want to see who had the drug our guests at Midnight Blue!”

“What else can we do? If they’ve already taken care of it, just leave them be. For those who haven’t, get someone to help them burn off the effects!” Miranda ordered. “Under no circumstances are we letting any guest die here!”
The drug was extremely potent. If they didn’t find a way to deal with it, it could be fatal.

“Yes, Mrs. Clark,” the manager replied, picking up his walkie–talkie to pass on her instructions.
Miranda asked, “What’s going on with Nathan?”
The manager wiped the sweat from his brow and answered honestly, “Mr. Clark is in a private room with Angelica, the former heiress of the Binder family.”
No one needed to ask what they were doing in there.
Miranda took a deep breath. “Alright, take me to the security room.”
‘I need to see for myself who was crazy enough to pull this stunt at Midnight Blue, Miranda thought, her eyes narrowing.
Miranda went to the security room herself and checked the footage from an hour before the drug took effect up until now, but she didn’t spot a single suspicious person.
Is it even possible for someone to drug our guests at Midnight Blue out of thin air?‘ Miranda wondered, her anger simmering.
This time, Miranda was truly furious.
The Clark family’s authority had just been seriously challenged.
The manager was trembling, too scared to say a word.
Just then, a panicked voice crackled over the manager’s walkie–talkie. “Manager, it’s bad! The guests who weren’t drugged are causing a scene. They’re yelling and demanding to leave!”
The manager’s brow furrowed in worry. “Mrs. Clark, these are our VIP guests. We can’t just hold them here against their will…”
Miranda’s face grew serious. “Let them go. With their status, they won’t risk leaking what happened tonight. If they do, they’d only invite trouble and unwanted attention,” she said.
The manager nodded and quickly told his staff to let them go.
Then, Miranda ordered the manager to gather all the staff on duty tonight.
Miranda scanned the room, her voice cold as ice. “Not a single word leaves this club tonight! If anyone dares to spill what happened, I’ll personally rip your tongue out! Got it?”
Once the staff had left, Miranda made her way to Nathan’s private room.
Inside, Nathan had finally gotten what he wanted, and now he was slumped weakly on the couch, completely spent.
Miranda’s face was grim as she sat down beside him, her voice sharp. “Spill it. What the hell happened tonight? How could something this serious slip through the cracks?”
Nathan was still out of it, his limbs limp as he lay on the couch, barely able to speak. “I don’t know…
“You don’t know? As the heir to the Clark family, how can you say something like that?” Miranda was in utter disbelief. Is this really the grandson I’ve always counted on?‘ she thought.
Nathan stayed silent.
Miranda took a deep breath, her expression grave. “I checked the security footage myself. There wasn’t a single suspicious

person. And honestly, drugging so many people at Midnight Blue all at once? That’s no easy feat.

Nathan pushed himself up from the couch, his voice weak but determined. “Grandma, I’ll get to the bottom of this tonight.”
“Even if you don’t investigate, you probably already have someone in mind, don’t you?” Miranda fixed him with a piercing
stare.
Nathan picked up a cigar from the table, lit it, took a long drag, and blew out a smoke ring. “Yeah, odds are it’s Victoria.”
Just as he was about to use Angelica as his pawn to slip the Clark family’s new sex drug to the guests at Victoria’s birthday party, suddenly he and a bunch of Midnight Blue’s customers ended up getting dosed themselves.
But everyone at Victoria’s birthday party? They were totally fine–nothing happened to them at all.
He couldn’t believe Victoria had nothing to do with this.
“Victoria again, always Victoria!” Miranda gritted her teeth in fury. “She’s really something else, stubborn as hell! Does she really think the Clark family can’t put her in her place?”
Nathan’s chiseled face was half–hidden in the haze of smoke. “Grandma, I’ll handle the rest. It’s late. You should head home.”
Seeing how drained he still was, Miranda couldn’t bring herself to scold him any further.
She just gave him a stern warning. “After what happened with your Uncle Bater, the Clark family already took a huge hit. If word of tonight gets out, it’ll be a disaster for us! I’ve already warned everyone at Midnight Blue. No one breathes a word about this. You need to have someone monitoring the internet nonstop. If even a whisper surfaces, shut it down immediately!”
After Miranda left, Nathan took a hard drag from his cigar and called the manager. “Send me the list of everyone who got drugged tonight.”
After hanging up, he turned to his assistant.
“Finn, bring Angelica here,” he ordered.
