Chapter 375
Calvin looked down at his second son, Darell, who was sprawled at his feet, desperately begging for mercy to avoid punishment. He couldn’t hide his disgust.
“Idiot!” Calvin kicked Darell so hard that he knocked him flat on the floor. “Is that what you care about? The real issue is that you and Nathan did this to your own wife! Who cares if you hired the killer or not? You’re an animal! You’d sacrifice your own wife just to frame your own daughter! You’re worse than a dog!”
Julia closed her eyes.
Scalding tears slipped silently from the corners of her tightly shut eyes, falling onto the cold floor.
‘For his son?‘ she scoffed inwardly.
‘What a pathetic and disgusting excuse,‘ Julia thought.
He was only chasing his never–ending thirst for power.
And her? She was nothing but the most insignificant ant, ready to be crushed at any moment by his ambition.
She felt utterly dead inside.
“Didn’t you hear what Mr. Calvin said? Take this bastard back to the Binder estate tonight, and hand him over to the police tomorrow,” Victoria instructed the bodyguards her grandfather brought.
“Yes, Miss Binder,” the bodyguards replied. They moved in, grabbed Darell by each arm, and hauled him out roughly.
Darell’s desperate pleas and excuses faded away outside the door as he was dragged off.
The room fell into a heavy, deathly silence.
Calvin seemed utterly drained, his already hunched back bending even further.
He didn’t look at anyone, his gaze drifting out the window to the deep night and the glow of countless homes.
He was silent for a moment, then spoke slowly, his voice weary and frail, like a withered leaf trembling in the autumn wind. “Victoria…”
Victoria stepped forward, replying calmly, “Grandpa.”
Calvin still didn’t look at her, his eyes fixed on the night outside. “At my age… It’s time to rest. My heart is worn out.”
Finally, he turned to her, his cloudy old eyes filled with relief and deep trust. “Tomorrow morning, I’ll go with other elderly people to Mullinran Village to spend the rest of my days.”
He paused, then gently patted Victoria’s shoulder with his age–spotted hand. The touch was heavy, as if he was passing on a burden he’d carried for a lifetime.

Chapter 375
“From now on, the Binder family is truly in your hands. I’m old now, I can’t carry it anymore. It’s all up to you.” There was no sadness in his words, only the relief of finally letting go.
With that, Calvin didn’t linger or glance at anyone else. Using his cane for support, he walked toward the door, each step slow and heavy.
Under the bright crystal chandelier, his back looked especially frail and lonely.

The steady, clear sound of his cane striking the floor echoed through the room, growing fainter as he walked
away.
Daisy let out a silent sigh, her gaze tangled with complex emotions. She glanced at Victoria. “Victoria, your dad and I will go back with your grandpa.”
“Alright,” Victoria said, her voice flat and emotionless.
Inside the room, Julia’s sobs were muffled and suppressed, Curtis leaned dazed against the wall, his breath rough and heavy, while Simon’s fists were clenched so tight his knuckles were white.
Victoria slowly turned around, her eyes falling on the killer bound in the shadowy corner.
The killer stared back, his gaze icy and fierce, sizing her up with the cold calculation of a pro, and a hint of fury from his failed mission.
Victoria’s lips quirked upward in a barely noticeable smirk.
“I know Nathan sent you,” she said.
The killer stayed silent.
“This isn’t your first time working with him, is it?” Victoria pressed. “If you want to go out easy, spill the jobs you did for him.”
To completely destroy the Clark family, Victoria needed solid evidence.
The killer gave a cold laugh, but stayed silent.
“There was someone called Mrs. Tooth who used to work for Nathan. She thought she could keep her mouth shut and never betray him,” Victoria said, already holding a pill in her hand. “Let’s see if you’re any tougher than she was when it comes to keeping secrets.”
With that, she jabbed a silver needle into the killer’s neck. Taking advantage of his pain, she shoved the pill into his mouth. “You wanted to end it yourself? Well, I’ll give you a taste of what dying feels like.”
Victoria gave with Darell.”
her orders. “Mara, take this killer for questioning tonight. Tomorrow, turn him in to the cops
“Got it,” Mara replied, slinging the killer over her shoulder and heading out.
After Mara left, Jackson finally looked away from her and said, “I think I know your friend.”

Victoria didn’t bother to correct him about the “friend” part. She just smiled and asked, “Oh? When was that?”
Jackson thought for a moment. “Three years ago, at a private party.”
He paused, as if recalling the memory. “She was the host’s special guest from the East. I heard she was…
“The second–in–command of the world’s biggest alliance,” Jackson finished with a light laugh, his eyes locked on her, watching every flicker of emotion on her face.
Victoria hadn’t expected that.
That party really did happen.
Back then, Mara had to briefly show her true colors to win over a Lithvanian banking prodigy.
But after the party, the organization erased every trace of Mara’s existence.
So, except for the people who were there, nobody knew Mara’s real identity.
“Were you at that party?” Victoria asked, but then she quickly realized that couldn’t be right. If Jackson had really been there, there’s no way Mara wouldn’t have recognized him.
Jackson smiled. “No, it was a friend of mine who was there.”
Victoria’s curiosity was piqued. “Another friend? Who is it? Some heir from a powerful family?”
“Not some heir. Just an ordinary person,” Jackson replied.
“You’re the eldest son of the most powerful family in Benwig, and your friends are just nobodies?” Victoria teased.
By now, Victoria pretty much knew all the big–name families in Benwig.
Families like the Fairbank family, Clark family, Cooke family, Vaughn family, Fisher family, and Binder family…but none of Jackson’s friends were from any of them.
Jackson grinned. “Guess it’s my mom’s influence. I like making friends with regular folks, not those big shots from the elite circles.”
Victoria suddenly remembered something. “Hey, about what happened at Midnight Blue last night. Don’t tell me one of your bros got dragged into that mess?”
Jackson chuckled. “Nah, but one of my buddies accidentally witnessed the whole debauchery firsthand. He gave me a call after he got back to his room last night, so that’s how I heard about the whole mess at Midnight Blue.”
“That kind of drama would’ve tanked the Clark family’s stock,” Jackson said. “Too bad it wasn’t streamed live, otherwise…”
“I was at a birthday party, so I couldn’t exactly tune in. Besides, if anyone tried to stream something like that, the channel would get shut down in a heartbeat. Better to let the rumor mills do their thing and let it simmer,”

Victoria flashed a dazzling smile, playfully running her fingers down Jackson’s cheek. “Don’t you think so, Jack?”
“You’ve got a point,” Jackson laughed.

Victoria pulled her hand back. “Anyway, we’ve got plenty of dirt. Tomorrow morning, we’ll have the gossip accounts drop everything. The Clark family won’t walk away unscathed this time. Even if they survive, they’re gonna take a serious hit.”
“Yeah,” Jackson suddenly said. “Vickie, if I’m not mistaken, you’re actually the leader of the world’s biggest alliance, aren’t you?”
