After leaving the ward, Geoffrey pulled out his phone and stared at photos of Victoria he found online. ‘What’s so great about this woman anyway?‘ he thought, rolling his eyes.

‘I’ll make sure to deal with her for Nathan! Since going head–to–head doesn’t work with her, maybe it’s time to play it smart, he mused. ‘When it comes to handling a woman, the best move is to mess with her mind.‘

That evening, on her way home from work, Victoria saw a badly injured man lying in the middle of the road. She hit the brakes, got out of her car, and went over to check on him.

He was alive, but his face was covered in blood, hair a tangled mess, making it impossible to see what he looked like; only that he seemed pretty young.

“Help… please… save me…” the man gasped, his voice barely above a whisper. With his eyes barely open, he weakly grabbed Victoria’s arm.

Victoria mused, ‘Well… this reminds me of when I saved Gavin. Yeah, this was almost the same.‘

She always felt this kind of thing was such a bother. Back then, the village’s medical care was awful. If she hadn’t helped, Gavin probably wouldn’t have survived.

But the hospitals here in Benwig City are really good. ‘Whatever, I’ll just let the professionals take care of it, Victoria thought.

After making sure he wasn’t about to die, Victoria gently pulled his hand off her arm, stood up, and dialed 911. “Hello, there’s someone injured on Grotto Road…”

After all, she did love a good game. “Sorry for the trouble, he said he just wants me to help him,” Victoria said, hanging up the phone. She turned to 001 and ordered, “Load him into the trunk.”

001 stepped forward, expressionless, hoisted the young man onto his shoulder, walked to the back of the car, opened the trunk, and placed him inside.

Geoffrey had gone through all that pain to win Victoria’s sympathy, but her move left him utterly dumbfounded. Once the trunk closed and everything went dark, he was left speechless.

‘Isn’t Victoria supposed to be some doctor? How can she treat an injured guy like this?‘ Geoffrey thought. ‘Where’s her conscience?‘

At Goldenwood Villa, Daisy was busy working on a new design when she saw 001 walk in carrying a man covered in blood. Her eyes widened in shock. “Victoria, what’s going on?”

Victoria explained, “I found him on the road. He’s hurt. I tried to call 911, but he wouldn’t let me. Looks like he’s afraid someone might recognize him.”

Daisy frowned. “Alright then, let’s get him cleaned up first. He’s filthy.” With that, Daisy turned to the butler. “Alonso, take a few people and get him cleaned up. Make sure he’s spotless.”

“Yes, noted,” Alonso replied, then quickly led a few servants over to the blood–soaked man, carefully lifting him and carrying him away.

After the young man was taken away, Daisy set her tablet aside, worry written all over her face as she walked up to Victoria. “Victoria, it’s way too weird to find some random injured guy lying in the middle of the road.

“I really think he’s here for you. For your own safety, maybe we should have Alonso toss him out. No point in inviting trouble.”

Victoria grabbed Daisy’s wrist. “No need, Mom. Honestly, I’m pretty interested in who this guy is and what he’s trying to pull by getting close to me.”

“Victoria, you really don’t have to take such a gamble…” Daisy said.

“Mom, I’ve already got my guard up. Nothing’s gonna happen to me, trust me,” Victoria said, reassuring her.

Daisy knew Victoria always had her own plans, so she didn’t push it. “Alright, just make sure you stay safe, okay?”

When the young man was finally cleaned up and brought back into the living room, Daisy took a closer look and gasped in surprise. “Wait, isn’t this Sirena’s son, Geoffrey?” Her voice was full of disbelief.

Victoria, standing nearby, caught Daisy’s words, and her eyes flickered slightly. ‘Oh? Someone from the Clark family?‘ Victoria thought.

‘So Nathan got blown up so badly this time that he can’t even show up himself, so he’s using his cousin as bait?‘ she mused. ‘That’s pretty ruthless!

Just then, Geoffrey slowly opened his eyes. His face was as pale as a sheet, and he looked incredibly weak. His gaze landed on Daisy, and he looked so pitiful that one couldn’t help but feel bad for him.

“Aunt Daisy, it’s me,” Geoffrey said, his voice hoarse, making him sound even more pitiful.

His address caught Daisy off guard and made things a little awkward. After all, Geoffrey rarely visited the Binder family. Even on holidays, it was usually just Sirena who came back alone. Geoffrey never really left much of an impression on Daisy.

Geoffrey had an almost delicate face. When he looked all sad and wronged, his eyes would go red and watery, like an adorable puppy one just wanted to scoop up and protect.

He was a whole different vibe from Nathan. If Nathan was the kind that made people run for cover, then Geoffrey was the complete opposite: soft, endearing, and entirely harmless.

“Aunt Daisy, is my mom here?” Geoffrey’s voice trembled, his big, bright eyes glistening with tears, like he might start crying any second.

Before Daisy could answer, Victoria arched her brow and said coolly, “She’s not here. I threw her out myself.”

Victoria replied coolly, “There’s no mistake. If you’re here to find your mom, you can leave now.”
