Chapter 394
Hearing that, Daisy looked at Victoria, clearly unsure what to do. But Victoria just smiled and said, “Sure“”
Geoffrey looked genuinely happy. He let out a sigh of relief, wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes, and forced a smile. “Thank you, Victoria.”
“So, where should we settle him now?” Alonso asked.
Daisy looked to Victoria for confirmation, let out a quiet sigh, and said, “Let’s have him stay at Silverwood Villa.”
Sirena used to live with her parents and never had a villa of her own.
“Yes, Mrs. Binder,” Alonso replied.
After Alonso left, Daisy looked at Victoria. “Victoria, are you really going to let him stay? The Clark family is ruthless. Geoffrey might be your cousin, but he clearly sides with them.
“And don’t let his all innocent and helpless act fool you; who knows if he’s just pretending? He could be here to settle the score for his dad and grandma.”
Victoria nodded. “Yeah.” She had no intention of saying more. If she was going to wipe out the whole Clark family, Geoffrey was part of the package.
Mara had already dug up everything there was to know about the Clark family. That included Geoffrey.
Up to now, he was just a spoiled young man who never had to worry about any of the Clark family’s business. Miranda hadn’t let him touch any part of the family’s operations yet.
But he wasn’t exactly clean. With his angelic looks, he’d been pretending to be all sorts of things since high school, messing with girls‘ feelings and using every pick–up artist trick in the book to make them fall for him completely.
He pretended to be broke, pushing his girlfriend to go to extreme lengths to support him and give him everything.
Once he lost interest, he shamed her and played the victim, driving her to a breaking point where she took her own life; something he saw coming but chose to ignore.
Or he’d target an inexperienced girl, draw her into a world far beyond her, and slowly push her toward vanity and self–destruction, until repeated cosmetic procedures became an obsession that ultimately cost her life.
And that was just the kind of thing he did. He never actually killed anyone himself, but there were six or seven girls who died because of him.
It was said that those girls shouldn’t be dismissed as weak or easily tempted. When someone had both the intent and the means to manipulate an ordinary person, it was almost effortless.
If a person hadn’t been targeted, it was simply because they hadn’t yet drawn that kind of attention. Now that Geoffrey had come knocking, Victoria was ready to have some fun and see what he was really made of.

When Hector got home, Daisy told him that Victoria had picked up Geoffrey after finding him injured and had settled him in at Silverwood Villa.
For once, Hector frowned. “Victoria, don’t let Geoffrey’s sad puppy routine fool you. He’s not nearly as innocent as he pretends to be
Before Victoria could say anything, Daisy started to get anxious. She set out the bowls of food that Mabel had served and asked, “Hector, what do you mean by that?”
Hector sighed. “Everyone knows Nathan is not someone you want to mess with, but almost nobody realizes Geoffrey is just as dangerous. He’s responsible for the deaths of several young girls; one of them was even his own cousin.”
Daisy suddenly realized, “You mean that girl from the Clark family who took her own life?”
Hector nodded. “Yeah.”
“Wasn’t everyone saying she killed herself for love?” Daisy asked. “What does Geoffrey have to do with it?”
Hector replied, “The Clark family tried to keep it quiet, but I still heard the story. That girl ended up dead, all because of Geoffrey.”
“What!” Daisy was completely shocked.
Hector explained, “That young girl from the Clark family ended up falling for Geoffrey.”
“Wait, that’s…” Daisy said, trailing off as the reason for the girl’s suicide suddenly clicked for her.
Hector continued, “Yeah, it’s something nobody could ever accept. For the Clark family, it was a huge disgrace. The girl couldn’t handle all the gossip and Geoffrey’s cold shoulder, so she finally broke down and ended her life.”
He added, “Everyone in the Clark family blamed her, but honestly, Geoffrey was the one who started it. He led her on, then bailed and acted like he had nothing to do with it.”
Daisy shot Victoria a worried look. “Hector, are you saying Geoffrey might try to pull the same stunt on Victoria?”
Hector nodded. “Wouldn’t put it past him.”
Victoria just gave a cool smile. “I know.”
“You know?” Hector was genuinely surprised. He knew his daughter was resourceful, but he never expected her to be aware of even the Clark family’s hidden scandals.
Victoria picked up her fork. “Geoffrey’s injuries? I’m pretty sure he did it to himself to get my attention.”
Daisy was stunned. “He did that to himself? If he can go that far with himself, imagine what he’d do to
others…”

Victoria picked up a piece of beef, her smile sweet but dangerous. “Relax, Dad. If Geoffrey wants to mess with my head, I’ll show him what it really means to have his heart shattered.”

After settling in at Silverwood Villa, Geoffrey walked over to the window and stared at the brightly lit Goldenwood Villa across the way. Before he even showed up, he’d already dug into Victoria’s background.
His take on her was pretty simple: She’s got a bit of talent. Money’s not a problem for her. And as for her getting together with Jackson, it seemed like it was all because of his good looks.
Jackson had good looks, and so did he, but while Jackson’s legs were crippled, he was perfectly healthy.
The idea of a forbidden romance would only have heightened her sense of excitement, and Geoffrey was convinced Victoria would inevitably fall for him.

After tending to the herbs in the herb garden and taking a shower, Victoria picked up her phone, about to video call Jackson, when she saw a friend request pop up.
Of course, it was Geoffrey: [Victoria, it’s me, Geoffrey.]
Victoria sneered. ‘Can’t even wait a day before trying to seduce me, huh?‘ she thought.
She was actually curious to see what Geoffrey was really capable of; how he got so many girls hooked on him, to the point they’d risk everything, even their lives.
After lying down on her bed, Victoria hit accept.
He messaged her right away: [I just saw you in the garden. Were you planting some rare herbs?]
[I’ve heard all about you, Victoria. You’re a legendary experienced doctor, and those rare herbs at Benwig City’s top auction house? They’re all yours.]
‘Seriously? Showering me with compliments already? That kind of flattery might work on someone insecure or starving for affection, Victoria thought, then fired back:
[I’ve heard your reputation, too. Word is, you’re cursed; most of your girlfriends end up dead.]
[Honestly, I think you’re not just a jinx for your girlfriends. Looks like you’re bad luck for your whole family, too. The Clark family’s almost wiped out thanks to you.]
[But whatever. At least you’ve got some Binder blood in you.
{Once the Clark family’s gone, as long as you behave, don’t go acting all high and mighty like your mom, and change your last name to Binder, maybe I’ll be generous enough to let you crash at our place and toss you a meal or two.]
