Sirena snapped, “You really think I’d believe you? Victoria, if anything happens to my son, I won’t let Even if it means trading my life for yours, I’ll drag you down with me!”
Victoria was getting irritated by Sirena’s threats.

off!
Sirena couldn’t stir up any real trouble for her, but if she kept pestering her every few days, it would be a real pain.
She paused to think, then said, “Alright, since you’re so desperate to see your son, I’ll take you to him. If, after seeing him, you still want to stay together, I won’t stand in your way.”
With that, she flicked a silver needle right at Sirena.
Just before Sirena passed out, Victoria told 001, “Throw her in the trunk.”
001 stepped forward, caught the staggering Sirena, slung her over her shoulder, walked to the back of the car, popped the trunk, and dumped her in.
Once Victoria got in the car, she called Mara. “Send someone over to have Sirena reunited with Geoffrey.”
“Got it,” Mara replied.
Victoria wasn’t the least bit worried that anyone would notice Sirena had gone missing.
After all, except for her father who still had lingering feelings for her, nobody else on earth gave a damn whether Sirena lived or died.

Jackson had just returned to the old house when he ran into Gary at the door.
Gary was bundled up in a thick army–green coat, a windproof hat, and gloves, his hands stuffed in his pockets as he stood outside.
It looked like Gary had been waiting for him.
As he got closer, Jackson smiled and asked, “Gary, were you waiting for me?”
Gary typed something on his phone and showed it to him. [When are you planning to bring your brother. back?]
Jackson read it and said, “Didn’t Stephen tell you? He doesn’t plan on moving back to the old house.”
Gary waved his hand and kept typing: [No, now that his identity’s out in the open, it’s safer to bring him back here. Your family’s pretty cutthroat, who knows if someone might try to kidnap him to get to you?]
Jackson pretended to think for a moment, then said, “That makes sense. So, what are you suggesting, Gary?”

Gary typed: [I want your grandfather to go get your brother himself and apologize to him in person. And as compensation, he should give him five percent of the Thornton Group’s shares.]
Jackson thought it over and didn’t see any reason to disagree. “Alright, when I see Grandpa later, I’ll tell him what you suggested. I think he’ll agree, he’s always felt guilty about sending my brother away all those years
ago.”
Gary nodded, looking a bit conflicted. He didn’t say anything else, just turned and left.
Jackson watched as Gary got on his bike and pedaled away, his expression turning pensive.
Once Gary was out of sight, Jackson finally looked away and said to Ollie, “Alright, I’ll try walking the rest of the way myself.”
After Victoria finished her treatment today, she told him he should start walking for at least half an hour every day.
From now on, no more treatments, just regular massages.
Ollie nodded and handed him the cane. “Alright.”
He pushed the empty wheelchair and said, “Gary specifically waited here to talk to you about this. Guess he’s finally ready to do something about it.”
“Yeah, if he doesn’t act soon, Felix and Xavier will start getting restless,” Jackson said, struggling to walk with his cane.
But no matter how hard each step was, nothing could compare to the joy of being able to walk again.
Ollie followed at a respectful distance, and seeing Jackson like this, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement.
‘He is finally walking completely on his own!‘ Ollie thought. ‘Meeting Ms. Binder was honestly the best thing that ever happened to him!‘
“Jackson?” Gerry, who was chatting with Felix, looked up in surprise as Jackson walked in. “You can your own now?”
Felix watched as Jackson really did walk in, relying only on his cane, and his smile faltered slightly.
‘Jackson’s really walking like a normal person now!‘ Felix thought, a bit stunned.

Pierre, who had been sitting off to the side, idly scrolling through his phone and watching a live stream, heard the commotion and looked up. When he saw Jackson walking in, his eyes went wide.
‘No way! That cripple actually got his legs working again thanks to that bitch Victoria!
‘Shit! Doesn’t that mean Felix’s chances just dropped a few notches?‘ Pierre thought, anxiety gnawing at him.
Jackson caught the hostile looks from Felix and Pierre, but just smiled and said, “Yeah, Vickie told me to start walking for at least half an hour every day, starting today.”

“That’s wonderful!” Gerry was so excited he started to get up to help Jackson, but then stopped himself. ‘Better let my grandson finish the walk on his own,‘ he thought.
After sitting down under everyone’s gaze, Jackson set his cane aside and looked at Felix. “So, what brings you two back to the old house today?”
Felix put on a forced smile. “Heard you finally found your real brother, so we came by to celebrate. And now your legs are almost back to normal, guess that’s two pieces of good news for you!”
“Actually, it’s three,” Jackson chimed in. “Nathan got caught. That’s one less headache for the Thornton family.”
Felix’s smile stayed fake. “Yeah, three. And if you end up as the next head of the Thornton family, that’ll make it four.”
“Thanks for the good wishes,” Jackson said with a smile. “Recently, there was some trouble with the Afriska non–ferrous metals business that Uncle Felix’s family manages. We had to pull some strings to fix it, but it still caused a pretty big loss.
“I hope you and Uncle Pierre can keep the Thornton family’s new energy business running smoothly. Let’s not have another mess like the one you just went through.”
Felix just stared at him, lost for words. ‘So we do all the hard work, and he gets to swoop rewards?‘

Pierre couldn’t help but blurt out, “Wasn’t it your fiancée, Victoria, who caused all that mess for Felix’s family?”
“Pierre, shut up!” Felix snapped at his brother, then turned to Jackson. “Anyway, I just heard from Grandpa. Stephen, or should we call him Cassian now? He still hasn’t come back to live at the old house.”
Pierre, grumbling to himself, picked up his phone and went back to watching his live stream.
Jackson didn’t bother responding to Pierre’s interruption and simply told Felix, “Grandpa will go pick him up himself tomorrow.”
Gerry was stunned. ‘How come I didn’t know anything about this?‘ he thought.
“Grandpa’s going to pick him up?” Felix blinked in surprise. “Did Stephen ask for that? Seriously, your brother hasn’t even come back yet, and he’s already acting like a big shot.”
Jackson just shrugged. “Grandpa owes my brother an apology, so he should show some real sincerity by going to get him himself.”
Felix glanced at Gerry, who didn’t say a word. He could tell right away that Gerry was fine with it.
Just like Xavier said, Grandpa really spoils Jackson, Felix thought.
This time, the Afriska business got dragged into a huge mess because Victoria pissed off the big shots behind the Clark family. But instead of blaming Jackson, Grandpa was always covering for him and taking his side.

They were all Gerry’s grandsons, but the difference in treatment was night and day. The favoritism was so obvious, it could drive anyone crazy with envy.
“Since your brother hasn’t come back yet, I’ll wait until the next family meeting to welcome him into the family,” Felix said, glancing at Pierre, who was watching a live stream on his phone. “Pierre, let’s go.”
“Oh… okay.” Pierre said quietly, closing the stream, pocketing his phone, and getting up to follow Felix out.
They hadn’t walked far before Pierre blurted out, “Felix, Jackson’s legs are almost fully recovered. If we don’t do something soon, we’re going to lose any shot at the Thornton family inheritance.”
