“She sounds so confident. I’m almost convinced,” someone whispered.

“Honestly, she’s a bit different from what I thought at first. Things are getting more and more interesting,” another guest chimed in.
Victoria’s over–the–top confidence made Angelica, who’d already gotten played by her once, feel uneasy. She instinctively glanced at Curtis.
After finding out which gown Daisy had reserved for Victoria, Angelica dropped a hint to Curtis that she really wanted that dress.
But since Victoria had already claimed it, Curtis offered to snag it for her right away.
Curtis handled the whole gown arrangement himself. Angelica wasn’t involved at all. So if anything happened, it had to be Curtis’s fault.
Curtis felt a flicker of doubt, but there was no way he believed his agent, Leslie, would ever screw him over with a knockoff gown.
His confidence snapped right back as he challenged, “Alright, Victoria, let’s see you prove that the dress you’re wearing is
authentic.
‘And while you’re at it, show us your so–called proof that we set you up just to make you look bad.”
The guests were all on the edge of their seats, waiting for the drama to unfold.
Most people were waiting for Victoria to embarrass herself, but some couldn’t wait to see her fight back.
‘I’ll prove it,” Victoria said, not biting back at Curtis right away. Instead, she looked over at Gerry and suggested, “Why don’t we let Mr. Thornton and his family sit down first?”
Calvin blinked and then chuckled. “Oh, right, I almost forgot!”
Hector nodded politely. “Mr. Thornton, please, take a seat over here.”
Gerry nodded. He hadn’t spent much time with Victoria, but he was starting to get a feel for her.
And he understood why Jackson, his favorite grandson, looked at her differently from everyone else.
Victoria always stayed cool under pressure, handled things methodically, and never lost her composure.
That kind of guts wasn’t something you saw every day, especially not in a woman who came from a small village.
Once everything was settled, Curtis impatiently urged her, “Victoria, stop stalling.”
He was getting more sure that Victoria was bluffing.
Victoria didn’t even bother with Curtis. She just told Milton, who was right next to Calvin, “Milton, make sure all the lights in the hall get turned off in a bit.”
The guests were thrown for a loop by her sudden request. It was risky. Milton glanced at Calvin, waiting for his go–ahead.

A soft, radiant glow emanated from Victoria, making her stand out in the darkness, like a brilliant firework blooming in the endless night, instantly drawing everyone’s attention.
The light was gentle, not blinding, and under its glow, her features appeared even more refined and beautiful.
Back when the lights were bright, people just saw her bronzed skin, not the delicate complexion everyone expected at these events. Most folks wrote her off as some country girl at first glance.
But with that soft glow washing over her, her features suddenly popped, sharp, striking, and impossible to ignore. Paired with that gown, she looked so stunning that she stunned everyone.
‘She’s drop–dead gorgeous. Is she some goddess of the night?” someone gasped.
‘How could I have been so blind? I never noticed her hidden beauty. At this moment, I’m totally head over heels for her,” another guest blurted out.
With a dress this stunning, who would even dare claim hers isn’t the real deal?” someone else chimed in.
Hearing all those rich young guys showering Victoria with praise, Jackson just gave a subtle smile in the darkness.
He knew Victoria was bound to stand out. Her brilliance was impossible to hide.
He wasn’t there to get jealous. He just wanted to become stronger, so he could always be by her side, her one and only.
Suddenly, the lights came back on, and everyone blinked back to reality, feeling like they hadn’t had enough.
That minute had flown by.
The guests hadn’t had their fill. They hadn’t had enough time to marvel at her beauty.
At that moment, every eye in the room was locked on Victoria. No one even glanced at Angelica, whose face had twisted with jealousy and rage.
The hatred in her eyes was practically spilling out, but nobody noticed.
Angelica clenched her fists so tight that her nails dug into her palms, her glare at Victoria downright poisonous,
Once everyone snapped out of it, the socialites started buzzing.
Wait, could Victoria’s gown be the authentic designer piece?” one of them blurted out.
Yeah, what else could make it glow in the dark? Angelica’s gown didn’t even react,” another chimed in.
I’ve been keeping an eye on Brianna’s latest collection, but I had no idea it had such a secret feature!” a third girl exclaimed.
Victoria’s expression stayed perfectly calm, unfazed by all the admiration swirling around her.
For her, this wasn’t about showing off, so there was no reason for her to feel triumphant.
She turned to Curtis, who was still stunned. “Curtis, did you get a good look? I’m wearing the authentic designer gown, and what Angelica has on is just a fake.”
