Victoria shot a look at Angelica, whose eyes were full of unwillingness. She curled her lips into a sly smile, her words loaded with meaning. “See? A fake is always a fake. No matter how well you pretend, you can never turn it into the real thing.”
Before anyone noticed her, Angelica slowly loosened her clenched fists, trying to swallow her resentment. She still kept up her graceful facade.
Victoria explained, “Anyone who’s been following this dress probably knows the design concept. The designer, Ms. Brianna Hamilton, said in an interview that her inspiration came from dawn. So, the real one actually glows in the dark.”
One of the socialites chimed in, “Yeah, I saw that interview with Ms. Hamilton, but I never knew about this hidden detail.”
“How did they even pull that off?” someone else asked.
“Seriously, it’s gorgeous!” another person added.
Angelica’s face went pale as she looked at Curtis.
Curtis looked totally lost. He genuinely had no clue the dress had any special feature.
But there was no way he’d admit he got a knockoff, so he shot back, “So what if it glows? Maybe you just put some fluorescent paint on it yourself, just for show!”
As soon as he said that, all the rich men and ladies who were tight with Angelica jumped in to back him up.
“Yeah, I bet she just painted some glow powder on it herself!” one of them said.
“She’s just using cheap tricks to cover up the fact that she’s wearing a fake!” another chimed in.
Victoria let out a soft laugh, totally unfazed. “Curtis, you really won’t admit defeat until the bitter end, huh? But relax, I wasn’t just bluffing about having proof.”
Curtis snorted, not even a little scared. “If you’ve got it, then show it!”
‘No way Victoria actually has anything that could really bury me,‘ Curtis thought.
Victoria pulled out her phone. “I’ve got a video. This is the proof.”
As she spoke, her phone screen was already projected onto the big screen in the hall.
On the screen, a woman in a white suit and pencil skirt was talking to a gorgeous blonde foreigner.
“So, how’s it going?” the woman asked,
“Sorry, Ms. Hamilton said her latest evening gown has already been reserved. Once she finishes the final touches, she’ll have it sent out,” the blonde replied.
“I know. That’s exactly why I’m here. I want you to sell me the real one. Money’s not a problem. Just swap it with a knockoff and give that to whoever reserved the dress,” the woman pressed.
The blonde looked stunned. “No way. If Ms. Hamilton finds out, my career is toast!”
“Come on, you’re only in this job for the money, right? Just do this for me and you’ll get three million dollars, just like that. Why keep being someone’s sidekick, always waiting for scraps?” the woman in white coaxed.

Chapter 46
ppp.
Julia gasped and rushed over, her heart aching as she caught Curtis. “Curtis…”
The crowd buzzed with whispers.
Angelica was rooted to the spot, not daring to move.

“just look at the mess you’ve made! I’ve told you over and over to focus on your career and stop wasting your energy on useless things. But no, you had to go and make a fool of me in front of everyone!” Darell was livid with Curtis.
‘Unbelievable! He’s tripped up over Victoria not once, but twice, he thought, seething.
This time, the scandal had spread through the entire elite circle.
Never in all his years had Darell been this embarrassed.
With the evidence now irrefutable, Curtis was left speechless. All he could do was hang his head in shame, letting the blood drip from the corner of his mouth.
Calvin slammed his cane hard against the floor, his voice cutting through the silence. “Enough! Either really beat him to death, or if you can’t bring yourself to do it, stop letting him disgrace us in front of everyone!”
Darell clenched his fists, his face twisted with fury. “Fine, Dad, I’ll finish him off right now!”
With that, he moved as if to go after Curtis again.
Julia rushed to block his way, her voice trembling. “Darell, he’s your son! Don’t lose control!”
Angelica saw what was happening and knew she couldn’t just keep pretending she had nothing to do with it. If she kept quiet now, she’d probably be kicked out of the Binder family for good.
