Jackson grinned. “If you crash at my place, you’ll have to sleep with me. But when I stay at yours, at least I get the room next door. I can handle that.

“Sharing a room with you… I’m not sure I could keep my hands to myself. My legs are almost healed, and I don’t want to mess up our perfect first night together.”

Victoria shot him a sly look, her smile full of mischief. “Aren’t you worried that, without a rehearsal, our first time might totally flop or just be super awkward?”

Jackson chuckled at her teasing, then said seriously, “Trust me, I won’t let our first time be anything less than amazing. I promise, I’ll make it unforgettable for you.”

He paused, then flashed a wicked grin. “But hey, if it really does go sideways, I’ll just have to make it up to you big time.”

Victoria burst out laughing. “Wow, so there’s even a compensation package? Not bad.”

Just then, Victoria’s phone rang, shattering the flirty vibe in the room. She fished it out and saw it was Mara calling.

Victoria answered, “What’s up?”

Mara’s voice came through, sounding a bit exasperated. “Sirena’s crying and yelling, saying she wants to leave.”

Victoria curled her lips into a sly smile, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Heh, she’s already falling apart? Alright, I’ll go deal with her in a bit.”

“Alright,” Mara said.

After hanging up, Victoria put her phone away and stretched lazily. “Jack, it’s getting late. I should head out and deal with the situation with Geoffrey and Sirena.”

Jackson grabbed his crutches and stood up. “I’ll walk you out, it’ll count as rehab for my leg.”

Victoria glanced at his leg, glad he was walking more lately. She smiled. “Alright.”

As Victoria reached the door where Geoffrey and Sirena were locked up, she could hear the sound of yelling and crying coming from inside.

“Why are you crying? If you hadn’t pissed off Victoria, would the Clark family have been ruined by her? You’re a total jinx! My dad marrying you was the worst mistake he ever made!” Geoffrey, spat, beating and kicking Sirena mercilessly.

Sirena kept sobbing, trying to tug at his heartstrings. “What kind of man is your father? He never cared about you since you were a kid. I was the one who struggled to raise you. How could you treat me like this?”

“You raised me? How? Did you ever have the money to raise me? It was always the Clark family who took care of me! I’m a Clark, I belong to the Clark family! If you weren’t my mom, the Clarks wouldn’t be in this mess!

“My dad, my grandma, and my brother wouldn’t be in jail! You’re a total jinx, a bad luck magnet! Why don’t you just drop dead already?” Geoffrey shouted.

Victoria pushed the door open and walked in, her gaze falling on Sirena, who was getting beaten and kicked. “Aunt, do you still want to see your son and have a family reunion?”

Sirena scrambled up from the floor, tears streaming down her face, and threw herself at Victoria’s feet, clutching her leg and begging. “No… Geoffrey’s just an ungrateful brat! I swear, I’d rather have given birth to a chunk of barbecue than to him!”

“Heh. glad you finally get it,” Victoria said, kicking Sirena aside. “Since you’re my aunt, and you never really did me any real harm, I’ll give you one last chance. Go take care of my grandpa.”

Hearing she could leave, Sirena sighed in relief, dropped to her knees, and sobbed. “Yes, yes! I’ll take good care of Dad. My sweet niece, it was all my fault before. I’m sorry, truly sorry. I promise I’ll never go against you again.”

Victoria turned to Mara and ordered, “Take her away. Send her to Mullinran Village, and bring Geoffrey along with her.”

On her way over, Victoria had thought it over.

The Clark family was toast. Even if she let Geoffrey loose, he wouldn’t be able to make any waves.

However, a leopard never changes its spots. He might still try to scam girls if he got the chance.

Just thinking about being forced to go to Afriska and live with Xavier and his family for twenty years, not even allowed to come back, made Pierre feel sick to his stomach.

He’d been hoping that Felix would become the Thornton family heir, so he could take advantage of the situation and finally mess with Victoria.

But now, all his plans had gone up in smoke.

The more he thought about it, the more pissed off he got.

‘No way. Before I leave, I’ve got to stir up some trouble for Victoria, at least a little. Pierre grabbed his phone, fuming, and got ready to head out.

Felix, who was still recovering from his injuries, called out, “Where are you going?”

“Before I leave, I’m going to get someone to teach Victoria a lesson,” Pierre replied.

Felix was way too messed up to care, he was so banged up he couldn’t even move.

After Jackson had Pierre and Xavier hauled off, he made sure they got the crap kicked out of them, leaving them half dead.

Out of nowhere, just after Pierre had stepped outside, his screams suddenly echoed from the yard.

Felix hurriedly sent someone out to check what was going on with him.

Before long. Pierre shuffled back inside with the servants, and Felix saw his whole body was dotted with angry red welts from mosquito bites.

Felix frowned. “What was that just now?”

Pierre, still rattled, said, “I just got to the door, and suddenly this swarm of bugs came out of nowhere and started biting me like crazy.”

As he spoke, his skin broke out in a rash, and the itch was driving him insane.

“It itches so bad!” Pierre whined, clawing at the red welts like he was losing his mind.

Felix’s frown deepened. “Why would a swarm of bugs just show up out of nowhere?”

Then it hit him, Victoria could control all kinds of venomous critters. This must be her.

Felix told him straight, “Pierre, don’t even think about messing with Victoria again. We just can’t beat her!”

This time, he said “we“, not just Pierre. Even Felix was admitting defeat.

The Clark family was just as strong as the Thorntons, and they’d already been crushed. If Pierre still didn’t wise up, those bug bites would be nothing compared to what could happen next.

Pierre realized right away, this had to be Victoria’s doing.

“But…” he started.

But Felix cut him off sharply. “No buts! If you don’t want to end up wishing you were dead, just keep your head down and behave. Once I’m healed up and after the family meeting, we’re all heading to Afriska.”

Pierre was itching so badly he couldn’t even think about revenge anymore. His skin was streaked with bloody scratches, and he was desperate. “Alright, alright, just help me stop this itch! I’m itching to death here!”
