Simon’s smile disappeared in an instant, his expression turning icy. “You really lost this time. She’s simply better than you, so it’s no wonder she thinks you’re weak.”
Curtis was left speechless.
After a while, Curtis was still confused. “Do you think she’s ever attended such a grand event before? How can she dance so skillfully?”
Simon shook his head, with a thoughtful look in his eyes. “I have no idea. She seems to be hiding a lot of
secrets.”
“A lot of secrets? Simon, you’re really overestimating her. Sure, she did catch my attention tonight, but that’s about it,” Curtis said, still full of disdain for Victoria. “And don’t forget how nasty she can be. She bullied Angelica, and messed up your right leg too!”
At the mention of his right leg, Simon frowned but didn’t say anything more.
Thinking back, he realized it was him who tried to teach Victoria a lesson, but he just wasn’t good enough and ended up getting completely owned by her.
“Where do you think you’re going? Just sit down and stay out of trouble!” Preston barked, spotting Gavin getting up and instantly guessing he was about to go find Victoria.
“Dad, you said you brought me here to help me network. But if you make me sit here all night and not let me go anywhere, how am I supposed to meet anyone?” Gavin protested.
“You’ll meet plenty of people when I throw your welcome party. Tonight, just stay out of it,” Preston replied, clearly worried his son might cause some drama and end up clashing with the Binder family.
Gavin had no choice but to sit back down, feeling more and more restless.
‘Forget it!‘ Gavin thought to himself. ‘If he won’t let me go find Victoria now, I’ll just wait until the party’s over and sneak off then.
‘It’s not like I don’t know where she is. She’s right here in Benwig City, and she’s the Binder family’s heiress!”
Meanwhile, after dancing with Cassian, Angelica was feeling a bit bored and decided to head back to sit with Curtis and Simon.
“I never thought Victoria would be this impressive. I can’t help but feel a little outshone,” Angelica said. deliberately sounding a bit envious as she watched Simon and Curtis’s reactions.
Simon just replied offhandedly, “She’s alright.”
Curtis, being his usual rebellious self, scoffed, “It’s nothing special. She just caught us off guard, that’s all. Compared to you, Angelica, she’s still way behind.

“You’re a pro at everything–music, chess, and painting. All she can do is dance a little. There’s nothing to brag about, right, Simon?”
Simon stayed silent.
Angelica kept quiet, but she could tell that Simon and Curtis were starting to change their opinion about Victoria.
This was exactly what she didn’t want.
“Feeling good?” Jackson grinned as he saw Victoria walk back, looking pleased and refreshed.
Victoria nodded with a satisfied smile. “Yeah, feels great! Glad I didn’t let Angelica show off at my welcome party.”
Jackson loved her honesty. “Keep going!”
Seeing how laid–back he was, Victoria joked, “You really are in a good mood, just waiting for me to put on a show for you, huh?”
Jackson’s lips curled into a smile as he lifted his phone, gave it a little shake, and turned the screen toward Victoria so she could see what was on it.
“I didn’t just watch. I made sure to record it too,” he said.
Victoria’s eyes went wide. “Wait, what?”
Jackson grinned. “You looked gorgeous, so I thought I’d keep it and play it at our wedding someday. What do you think?”
Victoria snatched the phone from him and checked out the video of herself. “You really have way too much time on your hands!”
Jackson chuckled softly. “What can I do? When I can’t see you and I start missing you, all I can do is replay the video to help me deal with it.”
Victoria teased, “Uh–oh, I’m starting to think you might have a bit of a creepy streak.”
Jackson didn’t get offended at all. Instead, he replied seriously, “If loving you and missing you makes me a weirdo, then I guess that’s exactly what I am.”
Victoria finished watching the video and shoved the phone back into his hand. “Ugh, I can’t out–talk you
Jackson took his phone and asked, “What’s up next?”
Victoria smirked. “Now it’s Angelica’s turn to put on a show. She’s always boasting in front of me about how she’s a master at music, chess, and painting. Meanwhile, the only thing I can do is grow veggies, and she even said she’d teach me.”

With that, she made her way to the big screen. “Once again, thank you all for coming to my welcome party tonight! Of course, we can’t just eat and drink. We need some entertainment to spice things up!”
Everyone turned their attention to Victoria.
“Wait, is Victoria about to show us what she can do?” someone whispered.
“What talent could she possibly have?” another guest scoffed.
“Hard to say. We all thought she couldn’t dance, but she turned out to be even better than Angelica!” someone else chimed in.
“Yeah, that’s true! I’m actually starting to get curious about her now!”
Victoria scanned the crowd and went on, “The Binder family has this place called Everspring Building.
“I didn’t know much about it at first, but Angelica, who was adopted into our family, explained that it’s where all the young ladies and gentlemen of the Binder family go to learn arts and skills.”
As soon as she heard that, Angelica’s face turned pale in an instant, like all the blood had drained away.
‘Damn it, Victoria’s not seriously planning to play that recording and wreck my reputation in front of everyone, is she?‘ Angelica thought.
Angelica’s hands balled into fists, desperate to stand up and stop Victoria, but her courage failed her.
With a shaky voice, she turned to Curtis. “Curtis, why is Victoria bringing up that day right now? Is she really going to play that recording and embarrass me in front of everyone?”
“Angelica said she’s been studying all sorts of arts at Everspring Building since she was little, with high–paid private tutors. She’s mastered music, chess, painting, and is fluent in several foreign languages…” Victoria’s words lingered in the air.
Curtis immediately realized what was happening and jumped up, shouting, “Victoria!”
Victoria glanced calmly at Curtis as he stood, then continued, “Angelica was worried I wouldn’t know anything, so she generously offered to teach me.
“She claimed to be really modest. She said she couldn’t grow vegetables, cook, or do laundry, and even said she’d like me to teach her those things.”
As Victoria finished, the guests exchanged glances. Some were shocked, some amused, and others just plain
awkward.
Darell and Julia looked so embarrassed, it was like they wished the floor would open up and swallow them whole.
Curtis gritted his teeth, trying to defend Angelica. “Angelica’s not wrong, is she? She’s mastered music, chess, and painting. You grew up in the countryside, so of course you know how to grow veggies, cook, and do laundry, right?”

Victoria nodded. “Yeah, I do! Since Angelica’s mom switched us at birth, I got to learn all those skills. If it weren’t for that swap, I’d never have had the chance. Lucky me, huh?”
Curtis was left speechless.
With all those curious and judgmental stares coming her way, Angelica was biting her lip so hard she nearly broke the skin.
Victoria kept smiling. “So, Angelica, I’m genuinely hoping you can teach me a thing or two about music, chess, and painting. How about giving everyone a demonstration right here at my welcome party tonight?”
