Victoria walked to the door and, as expected, saw Julia standing at the gate with Curtis and Angelica.
Daisy was blocking them from coming in.
Curtis looked reluctant, while Angelica looked gloomy.
Only Julia looked visibly excited.
Victoria scoffed. ‘Curtis coming to apologize is just a front. Julia’s real goal is to reclaim me as her own,‘ she thought.
Daisy said coldly, “Do you really want Curtis to apologize to Victoria? Looks to me like you have an agenda.”
Julia shot back, “Daisy, you sure know how to talk tough. What do you mean, ‘ulterior motives‘? Is it wrong for a mother to visit her own child?
“I think you’re the one with a hidden agenda. You just want to keep Victoria all to yourself, so you’re purposely keeping me away from her!”
Daisy’s face grew even colder, her voice turning sharp. “What do you mean, ‘keep her for myself? Victoria is my daughter now. Her name is officially listed as my daughter with Hector!”
“Just because her name’s on a piece of paper makes her your daughter? She’s got my and Darell’s blood in her veins. That kind of bond is something you’ll never understand,” Julia purposely poked at Daisy’s sore spot.
Victoria’s eyes grew cold and steely at those words.
To Victoria, Daisy was her real mom.
She would never let anyone take a jab at her mom.
Just then, Julia spotted Victoria at the villa entrance. She waved excitedly and called out, “Victoria, I brought Curtis to apologize for last night’s dress fiasco!”
Daisy turned around, waved her hand, and said, “Victoria, Zoe should have breakfast ready. Go eat, I’ll take care of this.”
Victoria knew Daisy was still too soft–hearted. Whenever Julia got aggressive, Daisy would just try to reason with her, never really winning against her.
But Victoria was different. If Julia came here to make trouble for her and Daisy, she’d make sure Julia and her crew left with their tails between their legs, grumbling all the way home.
Victoria smiled and said, “Mom, let them in.”
Daisy was taken aback.
Julia turned her gaze back to Daisy, looking smug. “Did you hear that, Daisy? Victoria actually wants to see us.

Hurry up and let us in already.”
She continued, “See? My own daughter did all that–signing that so–called severance agreement, making a scene at the welcome dinner–just to get our attention and earn our approval. She really went out of her way for it!
“Now I finally understand. As her birth mother, I won’t let her down again!”
Julia said all this deliberately, just to put Daisy in her place.
No matter how hard Daisy tried, she’d always be seen as just the foster mom.
Daisy glanced at Victoria, a hint of uncertainty flickering in her eyes, but it disappeared almost instantly. Whatever Victoria decided, she would stand by her.
“Okay,” Daisy replied softly.
Then she turned to the bodyguard standing nearby and said, “Open the gate.”
Julia gave Curtis a stern reminder. “Curtis, remember what I told you. When you see Victoria, apologize properly. No matter what she says or asks for, just say yes to whatever she wants, alright?”
Curtis grumbled, “Mom, do we really have to do this? We were dead set on cutting her off before, and now we’re shamelessly coming back with our tails between our legs. Isn’t that humiliating?”
Julia knew he was just too proud to let it go, so she tried to reason with him. “Curtis, don’t be so stubborn. She’s your real sister.
“As long as you can make up with her, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. It’d only be humiliating if you couldn’t patch things up.”
She knew Curtis was just worried that Angelica might feel left out, so Julia turned to Angelica, took her hand gently, and said, “Angelica, you’ve always been so understanding. You can understand your mom, right?“,
Angelica forced a smile, her voice soft and obedient. “Mom, I get it. I never wanted to fight with Victoria over anything. If she can come back to you, Dad, and Curtis, that’s the best outcome. Just promise you won’t send me away. That’s all I care about.”
Julia nodded, clearly pleased, and gently stroked Angelica’s hair. “I knew it. You’ve always been such a good girl. Your dad and I have never loved you in vain. Don’t worry, we’ll treat you just like Victoria. Whatever she gets, you won’t miss out on anything.”
Angelica shook her head, saying, “Mom, you don’t need to say all that. As long as I can stay with you and Dad, I’m happy.”
Julia looked at her with relief and affection. “Alright, later you and Curtis will apologize to Victoria together.
“Okay,” Angelica nodded, but her eyes darkened with resentment.
After everything that happened, she realized she never truly mattered to Julia and Darell.

She used to believe she had their love, but now she saw it wasn’t as genuine as she thought.
If anything, it paled in comparison to the love Daisy and Hector showed Victoria.

Once the gate swung open, Julia didn’t even spare Daisy a glance. She took Curtis by the hand and hurried ahead toward the villa.
“Victoria, did you sleep well last night? Have you had breakfast yet? If not, come back with us. I’ll make something for you myself!” Julia called out warmly.
Daisy watched Julia’s actions, feeling uneasy inside.
Angelica, who had been left behind, walked up and stood beside Daisy, gently comforting her. “Mrs. Binder, are you okay?”
Daisy turned to look at Angelica. “Why would anything be wrong with me?”
Angelica continued softly, “I just thought you might be worried that Victoria would go back to her real parents. But even if she does, I’m sure she won’t forget about you and Mr. Binder.”
‘Figures,‘ Victoria thought.
She’d just mentioned last night how impressive Victoria was, and sure enough, Julia and her crew wasted no time stirring up trouble.
Daisy replied with conviction, “No, Victoria’s not going back to Julia and the others. Don’t worry.”
With that, she ignored Angelica and headed back into the villa.
Angelica’s gentle look faded as she watched Daisy walk away, her face turning utterly speechless and full of
contempt.
‘She’s not even Victoria’s real mom. What’s with all the pretending?‘ Angelica thought. ‘She can’t have kids of her own, so she’s just settling for Victoria to get a taste of being a mom.’
Angelica didn’t believe it for a second. If Daisy ever had her own child, she’d definitely push Victoria aside without a second thought.
Victoria watched Julia’s over–the–top enthusiasm, then glanced at Curtis, who looked like he’d rather be anywhere else but had no choice but to follow.
She curled her lips into a sly smile and said, “The welcome party last night was a total success, so I slept like a log. As for breakfast, I haven’t eaten yet. Since you’re so eager, Julia, how about you personally make me breakfast today?”
Julia just assumed Victoria was still venting her anger by calling her by her name, so she nodded quickly. “No problem. I’ll head back and cook for you right away.”
Victoria wagged her finger. “No need to go back to your place, Julia. Just make it here in my house.”
