After laughing to her heart’s content, Victoria let her smile fade, lifted her chin, and met Darell’s dark gaze head–on. She spoke cach word clearly, “That’s right. I will destroy your family. I won’t stop until I do.”

When he heard those words, Darell’s forehead veins popped.

Before, he’d only heard it from Julia, and it hadn’t really fazed him. But now, hearing Victoria say it to his face stung like

hell.

He’d spent all these years. He couldn’t possibly tolerate being threatened by some clueless kid.

And worst of all, that kid was his own daughter.

Feeling the icy tension coming off Darell, Zoe grew worried that something might happen to Victoria. She grabbed her phone, stepped aside, and called Hector, hoping to let him know Darell was giving Victoria a hard time and ask him to hurry home to protect her.

But nobody answered on the other end, which drove Zoe crazy with worry.

Dareil pointed at her, his smile twisted and mocking, speaking through gritted teeth. “Well, well. You really are my ‘good‘ daughter, aren’t you?”

Victoria shot back, “Darell, let me say it again. I’m not your daughter. I don’t have a heartless father like you.”

Darell dropped his hand behind his back, his expression frosty. “Fine! Maybe I was cold–hearted for not taking you back right away, but look at yourself now. What are you doing? Betraying your own family?

“Julia and I already regret it. We want you back, and we’ll do everything we can to make it up to you. But have you ever given us a chance?”

Victoria let out a cold laugh. “People like you, who could throw away your own daughter and let her suffer, what makes you think you deserve a second chance?”

Seeing that Victoria wouldn’t budge no matter what he said, Darell finally gave up arguing. He locked eyes with her and asked coldly, “Let me ask you one last time. Are you really never going to forgive us?”

Victoria’s

gaze was ice–cold. “I’ll say it one last time–never. I will never, ever forgive you.”

Darell let out a cold snort. “Fine, then don’t blame me for not acting like your father anymore. You stabbed Julia with those silver needles today, and you’re going to answer for it.”

With that, he barked at his bodyguards, “Grab her!”

Zoe stomped her foot in frustration. “Mr. Darell Binder, what are you doing? You should wait until Mr. Hector Binder and Mrs. Binder get back. How can you just take Victoria away without their say–so?”

Darell didn’t even bother to look at her. “You’re just the housekeeper. This isn’t your place to talk. Keep running your mouth, and I’ll have someone slap you.”

Zoe was scared, but she still rushed forward. “You can’t take Victoria away…”

“You meddlesome fool! Just a housekeeper, and you really think you’re one of the Binder family?” Darell sneered as he saw Zoe rush over. He had one of his bodyguards block her, then kicked her hard himself, sending her sprawling to the floor.

Zoe was no spring chicken. She couldn’t withstand a kick like that from Darell. She collapsed, the pain so intense she

couldn’t even make a sound.

“Zoe!” Victoria was genuinely surprised. She never thought the housekeeper would risk herself just to protect her.

What shocked her even more was Darell’s cruelty. He didn’t hesitate to hurt even someone as harmless as Zoe.

Victoria hurried to Zoe’s side, helped her up, and quickly checked her pulse to make sure she was okay. Relieved, she pulled out two silver needles and gently placed them in key spots, soothing Zoe’s nerves and helping her recover.

“Victoria, I can’t get through to Hector…” Zoe said.

“Zoe, stop talking. Don’t worry, they can’t touch me. And since you’re our housekeeper, Darell’s going to pay for hurting you,” Victoria said, her tone icy and protective. She helped Zoe up, then, step by step, walked with her straight toward Darell.

Just as Darell’s bodyguards tried to block her way, their bodies suddenly seized up and they started foaming at the mouth.

Julia’s eyes widened in shock as she pointed at the convulsing guards. “Darell, see? That’s exactly what happened this morning! That girl used the same trick on me!”

Darell saw it clearly. Victoria had actually flicked those silver needles from her hand.

Victoria cast Julia a cold glance. “So you already know I’m not someone you can mess with, but you still came to my house and hurt Zoe? Guess you two really aren’t afraid of dying. Alright, since you’re so eager for trouble, I’ll give you exactly what you want.”

Darell’s face darkened. ‘Is

own daughter really about to come at me?‘ he thought.

“Enough! We’re family. What are you doing, turning our home into a war zone? Are you really about to start throwing punches and getting violent?” Calvin’s commanding voice echoed from nearby.

Victoria froze, silver needles still in her grasp, and looked toward the source of the voice.

When Julia heard Calvin’s voice, she finally relaxed. She turned back, tears streaming down her face, and cried, “Calvin, you’re here! You have to stand up for me today. I swear, I didn’t falsely accuse Victoria!”

Calvin, leaning on Milton for support, slowly walked over. His eyes swept across Darell, Victoria, and Victoria helping Zoe.

He frowned deeply and snapped, “What is going on here? How could you let things get this chaotic in our own home?”

Julia clutched a silver needle wrapped in a handkerchief and walked over to Calvin, tears streaming down her face as she complained, “No matter what, Victoria is still Darell’s and my daughter.

“This mess isn’t helping anyone. So, I brought Curtis over early this morning to apologize. I even wrote her an apology letter and made her breakfast. But guess what happened?

“Victoria didn’t just refuse to forgive us. She ambushed me with this silver needle. It made me convulse and foam at the mouth, just like those bodyguards. I didn’t fully recover until half an hour ago. Man, she’s got a vicious streak.

“Darell and I just wanted to patch things up so our family could finally be peaceful. But she won’t even give us a chance. She’s dead set on making things ugly, splitting us apart.

“Think about it. Before she came back to the Binder family, we got along great with Hector and Daisy. But now, thanks to her, there’s all this tension, and honestly, we might end up enemies.

“After today, I don’t dare try to get on Victoria’s good side again. Look at her, she even went after her own mother. I still can’t figure out how she did it, but just one silver needle and I was convulsing and foaming at the mouth.”

The memory of convulsing and foaming at the mouth still made Julia shudder–just thinking about it freaked her out.

Calvin shot a glance at the silver needle Julia was holding, remembering Victoria had used that exact needle to help with his headache last night. He frowned, then turned to his granddaughter and asked, “Victoria, is what Julia said true?”

Victoria stood her ground, not a trace of guilt on her face. “I dealt with her using the silver needle because she was about to hit my mom. I won’t ever let anyone bully her.”

Julia fired back, “Oh, so now you’re blaming me? It was your mom–wait, your aunt–who slapped Curtis first. What kind of mother would just stand there and let her kid get smacked?”
