Ran Away Pregnant Came Back Alpha Heiress (Amelia and Damien) novel Chapter 10

**Night Whispers Forgotten Names – Colin Shah**
**Chapter 10**

“Don’t fret, Amelia. You’ll still have the privilege of residing in that grand, opulent house, and catering to your Alpha’s more… primitive needs. Claire won’t mind having a little parasite like you quietly nestled away in the basement—a place I hear you’re quite accustomed to—as long as you remember your place,” she spat, her voice dripping with disdain.

“I refuse to believe you,” I muttered, my mind racing to process the shocking revelation. “Damien would never permit this. It’s—it’s simply impossible.”

Victoria’s lips curled into a mocking smirk as she retrieved her phone from her pocket. “Oh really? Where do you think your precious ‘mate’ is at this very moment?”

She stepped closer, thrusting her phone in my direction, forcing me to look.

There he was—Damien—sitting next to Claire, a bright smile plastered on his face. Behind them, a banner proclaimed, “Congratulations!” and the room was festooned with cheerful party decorations. It was unmistakably a baby shower.

My husband was celebrating Claire’s impending motherhood while I languished here, confined like—yes, like a parasite.

The implications of the party and the decree were staggering; the entire pack would soon be aware of the situation. They would have already embraced Claire as the new Luna, fully accepting her into their midst.

Victoria tucked her phone away, feigning sympathy with exaggerated sounds. “Aw, poor Amelia. Did you truly think this would unfold any differently? Did you really believe you had any chance at all?”

“He’s still my husband,” I insisted, my voice trembling with a mix of anger and desperation. “He’s my mate!”

“Or so he claimed. How would you know, human? All you had to rely on was what Damien told you. My brother is quite the master of deception. Or haven’t you figured that out yet?”

She scrutinized my face, searching for comprehension, but I remained lost in the whirlwind of my thoughts. With an exasperated roll of her eyes, she continued.

“Events like this don’t come together overnight. Damien was fully aware that key members of the pack would be invited to this shower, just as he knew he’d announce his decree on the very same day. He’s been weaving a web of lies around you all along. He orchestrated this entire charade without you even realizing it.”

Victoria leaned in closer, her presence intimidating.
