Ran Away Pregnant Came Back Alpha Heiress (Amelia and Damien) novel Chapter 156

Chapter 156

“Then don’t,” I told him, with more confidence than I felt. It would be so much easier to have him at my side. I wasn’t even sure where we were now, let alone how to get back to the capital. “Go back to your pack, or do whatever you want. But I’m going.”

Turning from him, I immediately started walking along the side of the street. I made it a few yards before he called out.

“Wait! Amelia, wait!”

I paused, allowing him time to catch up. As he walked over to me, he placed his hands on his hips and shook his head.

“I can’t believe I’m doing this, but fine. I’ll help you.”

“You will?” I ask.

“I don’t think I have a choice,” he said. “You are my friend, and if I don’t help you, you probably wouldn’t even make it to the capital.”

Guests? Who could possibly want to see me here?

Uncertain, I rose from the bench and walked toward the door. All the other prisoners gave me a wide berth. They’d been frightened of me since they met me.

Good. I wasn’t here to make friends.

To my surprise, Claire and Victoria were waiting on the other side of the door. They looked around themselves fearfully while they clutched each other.

This dark and dirty place was not somewhere a pair of refined werewolf ladies should be.’

“You shouldn’t be here,” I told them.

“Neither should you,” Victoria said. “Brother, please, apologize to the King. Beg him for your life if you have to.”

“I have my pride,” I said.

“Please, Alpha,” Claire said. She placed a hand on her growing stomach. “For your heir. She’ll need her father.”

I huffed a breath. “Then find someone to raise her, Claire. I will not be swayed in this.”

Unwilling to hear anymore, I turned away from them and returned to my
