**Night Whispers Forgotten Names – Colin Shah 291**
**Chapter 291**
**Sienna’s POV**

The last encounter I had with Amelia was far from pleasant; it had left a bitter taste in my mouth that lingered long after our words had faded into silence. That rift was primarily my doing, driven by a deep-seated resentment that I harbored towards her. When we parted ways, I had convinced myself that it was for the best, that I could simply erase her from my life. I had resolved never to lay eyes on her again, nor to exchange another word for as long as I walked this earth.
However, life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way, and here I was, drawn back into her orbit once more. A part of me desperately wished that Jeffery would remain immune to her charms, unlike everyone else who seemed to fall under her spell. Yet, I was all too aware of the reality; it was only a matter of time before he too succumbed to her allure, just like the rest.
“Sienna,” Amelia exclaimed, her voice tinged with surprise as she spotted me.
Damien’s reaction mirrored hers, his eyes widening in disbelief. “What are you doing here?” he questioned, a hint of suspicion lacing his tone.
Jeffery’s demeanor shifted, his protective instincts flaring as he interjected, “She’s my assistant. I invited her to come.”
That wasn’t entirely accurate; in truth, I had practically insisted on being here. But it felt oddly comforting to have him defend me for a change. More often than not, I found myself abandoned and exposed.
“I didn’t know,” Damien replied, his voice softening slightly.
“Is that going to be an issue?” Jeffery asked, surprising me with his boldness. I had never seen the bookish Jeffery stand up to an Alpha before. Yet, almost immediately, he seemed to deflate, his confidence wavering. “If it is, we can leave.”
“No,” Damien said, but his gaze shifted toward Amelia, revealing a flicker of uncertainty.
Amelia appeared troubled, her brow furrowing as she spoke. “Sienna, what I’m doing here… it’s a secret from Jake. Can you keep it that way?”
The temptation to spill everything to Jake and watch Amelia face the consequences was strong, but I was acutely aware of the weight of my past mistakes. Even if I revealed the truth and Jake confined her to the house, there was no guarantee that her memories wouldn’t resurface on their own.
The only viable course of action I had was to ensure those memories remained buried.
“I won’t, Annette. I promise,” I assured her, forcing a sweet smile. Gaining her trust was paramount; it was the only way my plan could unfold successfully. If she believed in me, if she hung on to my every word, then I could finally set things right.
To my astonishment, Amelia interpreted my words as a sign of reconciliation. She rushed toward me, enveloping me in a tight embrace. “Thank you, Sister. I hated our fight. I love you so much,” she whispered into my ear, her voice laced with sincerity.
For a fleeting moment, doubt crept in. Was I making a grave mistake?
But then I shook off the thought. Annette may have been the kinder sister, the one who seemed to embody all the traits I wished Amelia possessed, but if she continued down this path, the memories would inevitably come flooding back, and Amelia would resurface in all her flawed glory.
The world would be worse off for it.
I needed to cling to my anger; I needed to ensure that my plans came to fruition.

Everything around me felt like it was crumbling, and I was the only one capable of keeping the pieces from scattering completely.

**Amelia’s POV**
**+25 Bonus**
The joy that surged through me at the sight of my sister was indescribable. Not only was she physically present, but it felt as though our sisterly bond was also beginning to mend. After our last confrontation, I had been certain that she loathed me. Yet here she stood, ready to reconcile and willing to keep my secret from Jake, even at the cost of her own comfort.
I couldn’t have wished for a better sister.
Her presence was especially comforting as I prepared to face the daunting unknown.
