Lydia just said, “Stick to your own training plan if you want, but I checked out last year’s competition. There were already some questions about robotic surgery. If you can, you should learn a bit about how to use robots in surgery. It’ll open your mind a little.”
Marilyn and Yara looked even more annoyed at her words.
What was Lydia getting at? Was she just calling them clueless, but in a roundabout way?
Collin, who admitted Lydia was better than them, wasn’t thrilled with her attitude either. He jumped in. “Lydia, can you even do robotic surgery?”
A few professors turned to look at Lydia, clearly waiting for her answer.
The past couple of years, other countries had started researching things like robot doctors and robot-assisted surgeries. There was some research happening here too, but most people didn’t think robots could really pull off complicated surgeries the way humans could.
Marilyn let out a cold laugh. “Even if she can, it’s probably just the basics. There’s no way a robot could ever be as precise as a real surgeon.”
It just sounded impossible.
Yara chimed in, “Maybe that’s where things are heading in the future, but right now, you barely even hear about successful robotic surgeries here.”
Yara had heard her grandpa talk about it. Sure, the research was happening, but it was nowhere near ready. Lydia was just getting ahead of herself.
Lydia expected this reaction.
“That’s exactly why you need to open your minds a bit. If something like this comes up in the competition, at least you won’t be totally blank.”

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
