Grace reached out and gave the man a sharp pinch at his waist. “Knock it off. I’m serious.”
He sighed and finally rolled off her.
Grace got up, grabbed a robe, and tossed it over her shoulders before answering her phone. “Lucinda? It’s late. What’s up?” Her voice was still a little husky from earlier, which made Lucinda assume Grace had already gone to bed.
“Grace, did I wake you?”
Grace hesitated for a moment, then said, “Yeah, I just dozed off. It’s fine. What’s going on?”
Lucinda paused, sounding uncertain. “We just got back from the Robinsons, but Lydia slipped out on her own. I think she went to meet someone. Could you ask around for me, see if you can find out what she’s up to tonight?”
Lucinda was basically convinced Lydia had snuck off to see some guy. If she could catch Lydia in the act, her engagement with the Jeffersons would be finished. Connor would never marry someone who cheated on him.
Grace’s curiosity was instantly hooked. “Really?”
“Mhm.”
Grace actually did know a few people who were good at digging up secrets. “Alright, I’ll make some calls and see if anyone can track her down.”
“Thank you, Grace. I really appreciate it.”
“I’ll always help you.”
After the call ended, Lucinda let out a quiet, smug laugh. Lydia better not slip up, or she’d make sure Lydia wouldn’t even see what was coming for her.
Meanwhile, Lydia drove straight to the Lowe family’s old house. She didn’t stop at the main entrance, but instead parked behind the house. Soon, Lincoln crept outside, clearly trying not to draw attention.
“Lydia, finally, you’re here. We were starting to freak out.”

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
