Lydia was actually a little younger than most of the other girls, so why did she always seem to be ahead of the pack?
Marilyn folded her arms and curled her lips into a sharp, cold smile. “Seriously? She sorts out a couple of school issues and suddenly everyone’s acting like she’s some kind of superstar. Is that all it takes? Just wait until the international competition starts. That’s when all the real medical geniuses show up. She probably won’t even make the list.”
Yara, standing nearby, jumped in with a mocking tone. “I checked out the International Medical Association’s rankings yesterday. Most of those top students from other countries are already members. If Lydia’s really all that, why don’t she bring home first place? That’s what real talent looks like.”
Collin, who secretly admired Lydia, just kept quiet. Sure, he thought she was impressive, but he was still a guy, and guys his age had a soft spot for the pretty girls on campus. He glanced at Marilyn and Yara but said nothing.
Marilyn’s annoyance only grew as she watched Lydia getting all the attention. She scoffed again. “On that global ranking, Miracle Hands is at the very top. And rumor has it, Miracle Hands is from our country. Now that’s someone who’ll shape the future of medicine here.”
Yara nodded, totally on board. “Exactly. Miracle Hands can literally bring someone back from the brink. That’s who our country’s future rests on, not someone who just likes to show off at school.”
Their voices were low, but the office wasn’t big and the door was wide open. They were basically standing in the doorway, making no effort to hide it.
Lydia didn’t react, just listened quietly with a faint, knowing smile at the corner of her lips.
But Dominick couldn’t keep quiet. He spun around, his face serious, and his brows knit. “Do either of you even realize what you’re talking about? Lydia’s talent is rare, even across the whole country. The problems she’s solved have pushed our school’s research forward by leaps and bounds.”
Mr. Russo added, looking at the two girls, “You’re both talented, yes, but when someone’s better than you, it pays to be humble and learn from them. Don’t let pride get in the way of improving yourself.”

thank u!...

Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
