Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 190

“But…” Dr. Hady’s forehead was damp with sweat.

The continuous knotting technique was the trickiest part of cardiovascular surgery. It called for a steady hand and absolute precision. Every stitch had to be smooth and exact, each knot pulled tight just right. Too much force or the wrong angle could ruin everything. Even the tiniest slip could tear the blood vessel or cause dangerous bleeding.

“You’ve got this. I know you do.”

Suturing a blood vessel after it tore a second time was even harder than the first, but Lydia never doubted him. She trusted Dr. Hady completely.

With Lydia guiding him and cheering him on, Dr. Hady nodded, determination shining in his eyes. He focused on every movement, blocking out everything else.

Lydia kept her instructions calm and steady, matching his pace with patience, almost like she was leading him through the darkness one careful step at a time.

An hour later, Dr. Hady finally finished. The blood vessel was perfectly sutured. Around the room, everyone let out a quiet breath of relief.

They all glanced at the young lady on the video call. Who was she? She not only directed Dr. Hady through one of the hardest surgeries they had ever seen, but she did it with such confidence that even Dr. Hady called her mentor.

Dr. Hady could hardly believe it himself. He had just pulled off a surgery he’d once thought impossible. He realized now just how much difference it made to have his mentor guiding him.

“Thank you. I’m sorry to have put you through this,” he said.

Lydia smiled. “No, thank you. You did all the hard work.”

Dr. Hady was one of the best surgeons at Capital Hospital. If he hadn’t been there when her grandfather’s heart problem flared up, things could have gone so much worse.

He shook his head, a little flustered. “Really, it’s nothing. This is my job.”

Could someone in his state really be saved? The hospital had already told his relatives to prepare for the worst.

Yet here was this young doctor, calmly promising she could bring him back. Who was she, really?

Lydia ended the video call and glanced at the clock. It was already 11:45.

Just then, Josef came in with a stack of resumes. “Ms. Norwood, here’s the list we narrowed down this morning. Please take a look.”

Lydia nodded and took the stack. There were more than thirty names, bringing the total to over sixty with the earlier batch.

“I’ll go through these this afternoon. Please have these three come in for the second interview. I’ll handle it myself.”
