Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 410

“Hey, did you notice? Blake and Lydia don’t seem to recognize each other at all. They haven’t even said a word to each other.”

One of the maids, eyes glued to the TV, broke the silence. That got everyone’s attention back on the screen.

“Yeah, Lydia’s never met her brother, and Blake’s never seen her either. They have no idea they’re related,” Kylie said with a sigh.

Right then, Lucinda felt the urge to storm upstairs and toss every single piece of LYLX she owned. Clothes, shoes, bags, all of it! She never wanted to see that brand again. Just thinking about it made her wanna poke.

She remembered how, right before Lydia left for France, she’d gone on and on about LYLX and how Miss L was this huge deal internationally. She’d even said, right to Lydia’s face, that Miss L was her absolute idol. Lydia must have been secretly laughing at her, looking down on her. The thought made Lucinda want to slap herself. Of all the people to admire, why did she pick Miss L?

Just then, her phone buzzed. It was her friend Paige. Lucinda’s mood lifted a bit. A distraction was exactly what she needed.

“Paige,” she answered.

“Lucinda, guess what? LYLX just dropped a new batch of Miss L’s exclusive fall collection. There aren’t many pieces, so let’s go check them out before they’re gone.”

Lucinda’s face turned cold. The last thing she wanted was anything to do with LYLX. But hanging around at home, watching Lydia show off on TV with her family, sounded even worse. “Okay, Paige, wait for me. I’ll be there soon.” She made her voice sound rushed, then quickly hung up.

Kylie looked over. “Lucinda, is everything okay?”

“Mom, Paige just called. She wants me to meet her, so I can’t stay and watch the rest of the show with you.”

Cameron chimed in, “That’s alright. If you want, you can always watch the replay later. Go ahead.”

“Miss Norwood, welcome. Your friend is inside, trying on some dresses.”

Lucinda nodded stiffly, not meeting their eyes, and walked in with her arms folded. The two salesgirls exchanged glances. Miss Norwood was definitely in a mood today. Usually she smiled and chatted with them, but not today. Still, the customer was always right. No matter what, they were determined to give her the best service.

Inside, Paige was already twirling in a dress from the new fall collection—something elegant and powerful, with that confident boss-lady vibe. The salesgirls were piling on the compliments.

“Wow, this dress is just perfect for you. It looks custom-made.”

“That color really suits you. You look so radiant, confident, and charming.”

“It shows off your figure so beautifully. You look so classy, so elegant.”
