Kylie knew Lydia had been running on empty lately, so she made sure no one bothered her. After a quick shower, Lydia finally grabbed her phone and saw a bunch of messages from Connor waiting for her.
[Are you awake yet?]
[Still in bed? I’ll come get you at ten. Grandpa wants to take you out for lunch.]
[If you say no, he might actually break my legs. He’s that serious.]
Lydia couldn’t help but smile as she slipped her phone into her pocket and headed downstairs. She hadn’t even made it to the bottom step when she heard voices drifting up from the living room.
“We should have come by to thank you sooner, but Violette really wanted to be here with us, so we waited for her to recover. I hope you don’t mind,” a woman’s clear, graceful voice said, full of gratitude.
Kylie smiled warmly. “Of course not. The only thing that matters is that Miss Davis is okay. You didn’t need to make a special trip, really.”
“Is Lydia not home?” Violette asked, looking lovely in a white dress.
Kylie paused, about to answer, but then Lydia’s voice floated down from the stairs. “I’m here.”
Violette turned, just in time to see Lydia coming down, looking as cool and confident as always. Anthony and his wife Avery turned as well. They’d met Lydia once before, but even now, they were struck by the way she seemed to light up the room.
“Lydia!” Violette practically ran over, her excitement bubbling over. “Thank you for saving me.”
Lydia smiled, easy and genuine. “You don’t have to thank me. It wasn’t all me.”
Anthony stepped forward too. “Miss Norwood, we actually had another reason for coming today.”
“This… this can’t be…” he stammered, then rushed off to the main house to report.
“Mr. Norwood! Mrs. Norwood!”
Cameron and Kylie had just gotten back inside when they heard the butler hurrying after them. Kylie looked over, a bit confused. “Ryan, what’s going on?”
“Madam, you should come out to the gate right away,” Ryan said, his expression a mix of excitement and nerves.
Kylie and Cameron hurried outside. When they reached the driveway, they saw a large group of people walking up from the main gate. Kylie stopped in her tracks, staring at the man at the front of the group. For a second, she couldn’t believe her eyes.
She whispered, almost to herself, “William?”

thank u!...
thank u for the upload...
the next chapter is exciting...
the next upload is exciting. i cant wait....
Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
