Chapter 105
LUMINA

I drove home through blurred vision as tears were flowing down my face as held on tightly to the steering wheel with white knuckles.
Riley was Xenois’s son. My husband had a child with another woman, and I’d been caring for that child in my own home, loving him like he was my own
nephew, while his mother plotted against me from the shadows.
The worst part wasn’t even the betrayal itself – it was the way Xenois had looked at me in that hospital room. No, I expected it, especially with the fact that I had been reborn. A part of me knew that I wasn’t the most important persen in his life. What broke me was the doubt in his eyes, the way he’d
actually asked me if I was capable of hiring thugs to attack Sophia. My own husband believed I was a monster.
I pulled into our driveway and sat in the car for a moment, trying to compose myself, taking deep breaths as I used my handkerchief to wipe my tears. Thank heavens, I didn’t rub makeup before leaving. I couldn’t let Ollie see me like this. Whatever was happening between his father and me, my son didn’t
need to witness his mother falling apart because of him.
I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand and blew my nose with my handkerchief and felt a little better and clear headed at the moment.
I took a deep breath before stepping out of the car. As I approached the front door, I could hear voices inside – Thorne’s familiar tone, but also another
voice that made my heart skip a beat.
I pushed open the door and froze. Standing in my living room, looking every bit as commanding as I remembered, was Alpha Zade. His dark hair was longer than the last time I’d seen him, but he was still the same man who had held my heart before I’d ever met Xenois.
“Zade,’ I whispered, fresh tears rolling down my cheeks.
He turned at the sound of my voice, his expression immediately changing to one of concern.
Without hesitation or thinking about rules, I crossed the room and threw myself into his arms, burying my face in his chest as I broke down sobbing
hard on his body.
“I’m here,” he murmured against my hair, his strong arms wrapping around me, his body warm against mine protecting me like a shield. “I’m here, Luna.
It’s going to be okay.”
The familiar nickname one only he had ever used for me – broke something inside me. I clung to him desperately, letting myself be vulnerable for the
first time in hours.
“Mommy?” Ollie’s voice came from the doorway, where he looked small and rightened. “Are you okay? Why are you crying?”
I pulled back from Zade’s embrace, wiping my eyes as I looked at my son. Behind him stood Riley, watching with those green eyes just like Ollie’s I
realized looked so much like Xenois’s.
The resemblance hit me like a physical blow. How had I never noticed it before or thought about it even further? They looked like brothers because they
were brothers – half-brothers, as they shared the same father who had betrayed all.
‘I’m fine, sweetheart,” I said to Ollie, my voice shakier than I intended as I exhaled shaking my head before giving him a small smile. “Why don’t you
and Riley go play in the playroom for a bit? I need to talk to the grown-ups.”
Ollie hesitated, clearly not convinced by my reassurance, as he took a glance at the strange man and the fact that he was holding me. I doubt Ollie has
never seen anyone but Xenois hold me.
“But you’re crying, Mommy. Did someone hurt you?”

Chapter 105
The innocence in his question nearly broke me. Yes, someone had hurt me. His father had hurt me in ways I was still trying to process.
‘I’m okay,” I repeated, forcing a smile as I nodded my head trying my best to hot scare him.
“Just some adult stuff that’s making me sad. You don’t need to worry about

Riley stepped forward and took Ollie’s hand, speaking up from the first time since I came back. Unlike Ollie, he still had that blank emotionless look in his eyes and it seemed like he had an idea why I was like this or maybe I was jus projecting because he’s Sophia’s son. I doubt Sophia recruited him in taking my husband from me.
“Come on,” he said quietly. “Let’s go play with the trucks.”
There was something in Riley’s tone that made me look at him more closely. Was it my imagination, or did he seem less… emotional than usual? Almost like he was going through the motions of being a caring friend without actually feeling it.
The boys soon disappeared down the hallway, as Ollie allowed Riley to take him away and I turned to find Thorne staring at Zade and me with hostility
present on his face as he clenched his fists, which was shaking from anger.
“What the hell is going on here?” Thorne demanded, his voice filled with anger as he gritted his teeth.
Alpha Zade, you’re being hosted here as a guest. You need to respect that and keep your hands off Xenois’s mate.”
Zade’s expression didn’t change, but I could feel the tension in his body where he still held me. “I came here for Lumina,” he said calmly. “She called,
and I answered. That’s why my presence here is… vague.”
Thorne’s eyes widened as he looked between us. “You called him? Lumina, what’s going on?”
I stepped back from Zade, though I immediately missed the comfort of his embrace as I turned to face Thorne. Thorne was still a friend to me despite it and I needed to know what he knew. If he also kept me in the dark all these years “Thorne, did you know that Riley is Xenois’s son?”
The color drained from Thorne’s face, genuinely that I knew he was not faking it. “What? No, that’s impossible. There’s no way. The boys are the same
age, and Xenois never cheated on you.”
‘But he kissed Sophia yesterday,” I said, my voice flat. “Right in front of the school after I left because he picked her side.”
*That was a mistake,” Thorne said quickly. “He was confused, emotional about Sophia being hurt. It didn’t mean anything.”
