‘How can you ask me that?” I whispered, tears rolling down my face, not even bothering to wipe them.

‘How can you even think I would be capable of something like this?”

“Just apologize, Xenois said, his voice pleading with me as he tried to step closer, pain in his eyes.

‘Apologize to Sophia and my mother, and we can put this behind us.”

Before I could respond, Silvia slapped me out of nowhere. It was a slap that made me lose balance a bit and left my ear ringing.

“Don’t you dare tell her to apologize to me,” she snarled, pointing at me as she added. “She should be in prison.”

Without thinking, I slapped her back, the sound echoing through the hospital room. Silvia stumbled backward, her hand flying to her cheek in shock.

“You’re right,” I said, my voice calm as I turned to face Sophia. “Someone here does deserve a beating. But it’s not Silvia.”

I lunged toward Sophia’s bed, slapping her hard as I took her unawares with my actions. She cried out, and I grabbed her injured arm, squeezing it

through the sling.

“You manipulative bitch!” I screamed, hurting her even more as she was struggling with the pain and was trying to push me away but I held on tight as I

slapped her hard across the other cheek.

“You’ve been playing games with my family for months!”

Silvia tried to push me away, but I sidestepped her easily, my anger giving m strength I didn’t know I possessed.

“Xenois!” Silvia shouted. “Stop watching and control your crazy wife!”

I felt strong hands grab my waist, pulling me away from Sophia’s bed as I struggled to fight back. Xenois’s grip was gentle but firm as he tried to

restrain me.

“Lumina, stop,” he said quietly, looking down trodden as he shook his head. Please, just stop.”

I spun around to face him, my heart breaking at the look of disappointment in his eyes. Without thinking, I slapped him too, stunning everyone in the

room including myself.

“Don’t you dare touch me,” I said, my voice breaking. “Don’t you dare try to calm me down like I’m some hysterical woman. You betrayed me. You had a

child with another woman and kept it secret from me for five years.”

Xenois’s face was pale, a red mark blooming on his cheek where I’d struck him. “Lumina, please. Let me explain—”

“Explain what?” I interrupted him raising my hand up to stop him from saying anything as I kept going.

“Explain how you’ve been lying to me? Explain how you’ve been letting me care for your bastard child while his mother plots against me? Explain how

you believe their lies over your own wife’s word?”

The room fell silent except for the sound of my ragged breathing as I tried pace myself, I looked around at the three of them – Xenois with his guilty expression, Silvia with her justified righteous anger, and Sophia with her fake vunerability.

“I’m done,” I said finally, my voice hollow, with pain and resignation. Thereas no hope again for the both of us.

“I’m done with all of you,”

I turned toward the door, but Xenois’s voice stopped me.

“Lumina, wait. Please don’t leave like this.”

I looked back at him, seeing the man I’d loved for five years, the father of my child, the person I’d trusted with my heart and my future.

‘You made your choice,” I said quietly, sounding exhausted as I closed my eyes and exhaled.

“You chose to believe her over me. You chose to defend her instead of supporting your wife. You chose to keep secrets instead of being honest with me.”

“That’s not- he started, but I held up my hand to stop him.

‘I hope she’s worth it,” I said, my voice breaking. “I hope your son and your precious Sophia are worth destroying our marriage and breaking apart our

family.
