I glanced in the rearview mirror, seeing the blood on Ollie’s face, that had smeared on his cheeks, the way his fangs seemed to be shining in the inside
car light.
“He’s manifesting early,” I said, my voice filled with concern as I tried not to worry about the implications of this unusual behavior.
“The stress that he had been on tonight was enough to trigger a partial shift
Lumina pulled tissues from her purse, trying to clean the blood from Ollie’s mouth with shaking hands, trying to get rid of my blood in his mouth.
“Look at me, baby,’ she whispered, gently her eyes terrified not because of her son, but what this meant and could possibly do to him. “Look at Mommy.”
But Ollie’s red eyes remained fixed on me, a low growl was coming from his throat. He was caught between his human self and his wolf, too young to understand what was happening to him.
“Ollie,” I said softly, meeting his eyes in the mirror, as his eyes hardened as soon as he saw that I was speaking to him.
“I know you’re angry with me for what happened back there. I know you’re scared and don’t know what’s going on. But you need to calm down before
you hurt yourself.”
“I hate you,” he said, his voice small and broken despite the Alpha power in s eyes. “I hate you for taking me away from Daddy.”
The words had hurt me harder than his fangs had. I’d known this would be difficult for him, but I hadn’t anticipated this level of trauma, that would be
forced on him.
“I know,” I said quietly. “And I’m sorry. But I’m trying to keep you and your mommy safe.”
Slowly, the red began to fade from Ollie’s eyes. His fangs went back to normal, and his body seemed to deflate completely as the Alpha power left him. He looked like a normal five-year-old again, except for the blood on his lips and the way he looked very exhausted.
Then he broke down completely, burying his face in Lumina’s neck as he cried loudly for his father again.
“I want to go home,” he cried, his voice was muffled against her skin as he held on tight to her. “I want Daddy. I want to go home.”
Lumina held him close, rocking him gently, patting his back as her own tearsell.
‘I know, baby. I know. It’s going to be okay. Everything’s going to be okay.”
But I could hear the doubt in her voice, the uncertainty. We had hurt a child beyond repair and I wasn’t sure if this was something that was going to be redeemable or if it will have an everlasting mark on his life.
The rest of the drive went by in tensed silence and it was broken only by Ollie’s occasional whimpers and Lumina’s quiet attempts to soothe him.
My arm was hurting badly from where he’d bitten me, but I was more concerned about how we were supposed to deal with this complication now. If I was certain of what I was thinking then Ollie was undergoing his shift, maybe very slowly but this was a crucial time for him to be with his parents.
When we finally reached the border of my territory, the patrol guards recognized my car and waved us through without asking question.
My house sat on a hill overlooking the main pack settlement, it was a large ictorian mansion that had been in my family for generations.

Chapter 115
As I pulled into the circular driveway, I saw one of the household staff rushing out to greet us.
Alpha Zade, Maria called, her voice filled with concern. “Your mate is furious about your disappearance. Lyn’s been pacing the house for hours.”
I felt my stomach drop hearing this from Martha. In all the chaos with Lumin and Ollie, I’d completely forgotten to call Lyn. My mate had probably been worried sick, wondering where I’d gone and why I hadn’t returned.
“I’ll deal with it,” I said, getting out of the car and wincing as the movement brought new pain to my injured arm.
*Please take our guests to the blue suite. Make sure they have everything the need.”
“Of course, Alpha, Maria said, but I could see the questions in her eyes as she took in Lumina and Ollie’s exhausted form.
I turned to Lumina, who was climbing out of the car with Ollie in her arms. He’d cried himself to sleep during the last part of the drive.
“The
room is upstairs,” I said quietly. “You and Ollie will be comfortable there. We can talk more tomorrow about what comes next.”
both
Lumina nodded, her expression numb from shock as she wiped her face. “Thank you,” she whispered. “For everything.”
Before I could respond, I heard rapid footsteps on the ground behind me. I turned to see Lyn’s twin sister Lynn rushing toward us, her face filled with
anger
“Zade!” she snapped, her voice loud enough to be carried across the driveway
“Where the hell have you been? Do you have any idea how worried-”
She stopped mid-sentence when she saw Lumina holding Ollie, her expression changing from anger to confusion to something softer.
“Oh,” she said, her voice sounding more gentle as she took in the scene. ‘I didn’t realize you had guests.”
Lumina looked at Lynn with curious eyes, and I realized she was probably assuming that Lynn was my mate.
“I’m sorry for the intrusion, Lumina said politely, trying to shift Ollie’s weight in her arms.
“I’m Lumina, and this is my son Ollie.”
Lynn’s eyes widened slightly as she took in Lumina’s name, clearly recognizing it from pack gossip.
The disappearance of Silver Creek’s Luna with their rival Alpha would be the talk of the supernatural community within hours.
“I’m Lynn,” She said, her voice warm as all her initial anger melted away as she came closer towards them and added. “And please, don’t apologize.
You’re welcome here.”
Her maternal Instincts were kicking in as she looked at Ollie’s sleeping form
“The poor little one looks exhausted. Here, let me help.”
Before Lumina could protest about how she didn’t want to bother her, Lynn gently took Ollie from her arms.
The boy stirred a bit but didn’t wake up completely, his small hand clutching at Lynn’s shirt as she settled him against her shoulder.
‘Let’s get you both inside,” Lynn said softly. “You look like you’ve been through hell.”

Chapter 115
As we walked toward the house, Lynn shot me a look that clearly said this conversation isn’t over.
I nodded my head, knowing I’d have to explain everything to both her and Lym once our guests were settled.

The sound of a door closing upstairs made me flinch a bit as I looked upwards but I didn’t see anyone. I knew Lyn was waiting for me, probably pacing our shared bedroom and demanding answers that I wasn’t sure I could give.
Author’s Note: Lyn and Lynn are twins. It’s not a typo error.
I might go on hiatus
