Chapter 116
LUMINA
Lynn led me inside the house leaving Zade behind. And down the well decorated hallway, her presence alone was commanding and sure as she moved through the house with the confidence of someone who belonged here with no doubt. The way the staff members we passed by, nodded respectfully to her and parted the way for her to allow us to move quickly, the way she happened to know where everything was all strengthened my suspicion that this was Zade’s mate and the Luna of this pack.

“The guest suite is just down here,” she said softly, glancing down at Ollie in her arms with concern.
“It’s one of our larger rooms that we keep for important guests or family members. It has a sitting area attached to it for luxury and
it also contains everything you might need.”
I could barely focus on her words. Ollie had grown increasingly pale against her chest during the walk through the house, his small body was emitting too much heat that seemed intense for a normal fever. His breathing had become shallow and rapid, and he kept
mumbling some incoherent words.
“Daddy,” he whispered, his voice slurred and distant, like he was stuck in a nightmare and he couldn’t wake up. “Daddy, where are
you? I’m scared…”
My heart clenched tightly at those words. Lynn tried adjusting him so he could have a more comfortable position as I held my hand
against his skin and shook my head, worried.
“He’s getting worse,” I murmured, more to myself than to Lynn, but she heard me anyway.
“What exactly happened tonight?” she asked, her voice low, but sounding concerned as she opened the door to the guest suite.
‘I can see there’s blood around his mouth, and he seems to be running a high fever.”
I followed her into the room, as I took in the warmth of the place, as my shoulders immediately went slack, the tension leaving my body. Since we left tonight, this was the first time that I was feeling comfortable to allow myself to relax.
I was just worried that Xenois would get his men to chase us, I was worried about Ollie’s strange transformation at a very young age,
I was worried about a lot of yhings going wrong tonight.
Lynn handed Ollie to me and immediately moved to the bed, pulling back the covers and arranging the pillows.
“Here, let’s get him lying down,” she said, and I carefully placed Ollie on the soft mattress.
He immediately curled into a ball, shaking despite the heat that was coming from his skin.
“We need to get him out of these wet clothes,” I said, my hands shaking a bit as I began to unbutton his damp shirt. “We were
standing in the rain for so long, and he got soaked…”

Chapter 116
Lynn moved to help me, her movements quick and efficient as well as she seemed well practiced in doing this.
“I have a nephew about his age,” she explained softly, probably guessing the unspoken thought in my head.. ‘Let me help you with
this.”

As we worked together to remove Ollie’s wet clothing, I found myself explaining what had happened to her as she paid attention, not
saying anything allowing me to get the words out like a vomit.
“He was so upset about leaving his father,” I said, my voice breaking slightly as I kept speaking.
“He kept saying we had to go back, that Xenois would get sick from standing in the rain. And then he just… he attacked Zade. His
eyes turned red, and he had fangs, and he bit him so hard he drew blood.”
Lynn’s hands stilled on Ollie’s pajama shirt, surprise flickering in her eyes as she looked at me with a hint of worry in her eyes.
“He shifted? At five years old?”
