AUTHOR’S POV.
“I don’t want to stay here,” Violet said, her voice small, tremulous, and raw with fear. “They’re going to come for me… they’ll find me… we have to leave…. now…”
Lucian’s hand tightened slightly on her arm, but his tone was calm and firm, it was meant to anchor her panic. “Violet, you need to calm down. Right now, the most important thing is that you regain your strength. Once you’re stable, we’ll leave. You’re safe here for now.”
“No!” she protested sharply, sitting up despite her weakness. “They’re going to kill me… somebody’s going to come here… and they’ll… they’ll finish what they started!” Her voice cracked, and she buried her face in her hands, trembling.
The doctors exchanged concerned glances. One of them stepped forward, asking Lucian in a quiet voice, “Sir… do you want us to sedate her? She’s… hysterical, and we can’t treat her properly if she keeps panicking.”
Lucian shook his head firmly, his jaw set. “No. She doesn’t need sedation. You can leave. I’ll take care of her.” His eyes were unwavering, and there was no room for argument.
The nurses hesitated for a moment, then nodded and quietly left the room, leaving Lucian and Violet alone.
Lucian leaned closer, lowering his voice to a gentle but demanding tone. “Violet… look at me, I am right here and I am going to make sure no one hurts you, but you are going to have to tell me everything. Who are these people? Why are they trying
widened with fear as she shook her head, words tumbling out in a panic. “I… I don’t know… I really don’t… e worked for him… the man in charge… and before she could tell me everything… they… they killed her…” swallowing hard, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. “She told me… she hid a safe… with proof… evidence… g about him… his name…. who he is… and I haven’t been able to get it. Not yet… and now… I think they’re looking for That’s why I had to call you… I had to reach someone else who’s looking for him.”
can’s hand tightened around her wrist gently but firmly, forcing her to meet his gaze. “Slow down. Breathe. Listen to me, Violet. You’re safe for now, but I need you to calm down so I can understand this. Right now, you’re too panicked…..your words are all over the place.”
She buried her face again briefly, then shook her head and met his eyes. “I can’t… I’m scared. We have to leave please… I don’t want them to find me here…”
Lucian’s expression softened for a moment, though the edge of steel never left his voice. “I know. And I get it. I understand your fear. But I’m here. You’re not alone. And I won’t let them get to you. Not here. Not anywhere.”
Violet swallowed, her breathing still ragged, but the warmth and firmness of Lucian’s presence seemed to calm her, even just slightly. She closed her eyes for a moment, finally letting herself be still under his watchful gaze.
Lucian exhaled slowly, keeping one hand on her arm and his other on the bedframe, scanning the room for any potential threats. “Alright,” he said finally, more to himself than her. “We wait here until you regain enough strength to move. Then…. we’ll go. But first, you tell me everything. Start from the beginning. Who is after you? Why?”
Violet’s lips quivered, her voice low but finally coherent. “I… I don’t know everything… but my mom… she knew… she tried to tell me… about a man… a dangerous man… and a safe… hidden… with his secrets… I’ve been looking for it… but now… they’re after me too…”
Lucian’s eyes narrowed, a cold but determined look flashing in them. “Good. That’s enough for now. I’ll get the rest out of you… once you’re calm. But for now… stay here. Do exactly what I say. Rest. Regain your strength. Nothing else matters until you’re able to move.”

Viet nodded weakly, her grip on the sheets tightening. She finally let her eyelids drift shut, exhaustion overtaking the terror Lucien Mayed by her side, his eyes scanning the window constantly, calculating every possible threat.
He was already planning their next move.
Once he was sure she was sleeping, he stepped to the door quietly, opening it just enough to see Ace waiting outside.
“Did we get anything out of her bow?” Ace asked, voice low and anxious.
Lucian exhaled, tension in his shoulders. “Barely, She’s terrified, Ace. Terrified out of her mind. Whoever’s after her.. is definitely trying to kill her. She knows nothing yet in full, but we’re getting close. And I have a strong feeling the person we’re looking for is the one responsible
he’s jaw clenched. “So what now?
Lucian looked back at the faint rise and fall of Violet’s chest. “Now we get her out of here, unnoticed. Fast. Before anyone
se shows up. Once she’s safe, we’ll dig into this fully”
