Elmer’s eyes flared with rage. “The Kains will never let you walk away from this!”

“Then let them come,” Noelle replied with an amused smile. “Haven’t you always said my life was worthless? Swapping this ‘worthless‘ life for your leg sounds like a pretty fair bargain, don’t you think?”
Elmer’s entire body trembled uncontrollably.
He was genuinely terrified.
This was insane.
The Noelle standing before him was nothing like the silent doormat he used to bully. This sudden, fearless ferocity made dread crawl up his spine.
“Noelle! Have you forgotten the Kains raised you for eighteen years?” He clung to the old excuse he’d used countless times.
This time, Noelle pressed her foot down harder, her tone turning glacial. “Don’t ever bring that up again. If it weren’t for your family, I wouldn’t have been kept from my real parents for eighteen years.”
“What?” Elmer stared at her in confusion.
Before he could make sense of it, Noelle lifted the metal pipe high. Under his horrified gaze, she aimed at his leg, prepared to slam it down.
A police siren tore through the night.
Flashing lights swept across the mouth of the alley.
A group of officers rushed in.
“Tsk.” Noelle’s eyelids lifted slightly as her swing halted, irritation flickering across her features at the interruption.
Janice seized the moment and burst into exaggerated sobs. “Officers! Over here! Please help us!”
The police scanned the chaotic mess and immediately hauled everyone back to the station.
Melrose Manor.
Lucas watched Sebastian take his medication. The pills from The Miracle Healer, which were

worth an entire billion, had finally arrived. He passed them over without delay. “Well? Feeling any different after taking them?”
The pill started bitter, but a spreading warmth quickly flowed through every bone and limb. Even the faint sting along his meridians cased.
Sebastian gave a slight nod, his expression relaxing a bit. “The Miracle Healer earns the reputation.”
“Good.” Lucas let out a heavy sigh of relief. As long as Sebastian felt better, the cost didn’t
matter.
“I had Primo transfer the billion into your account. Thanks for everything these past few days.”
“Hey! We’re friends–why bring up money? A billion isn’t. I already sent you the card
number,” Lucas said, brushing it off. He noticed another medicine bottle near Sebastian’s bed -the one Noelle had given.
“Why keep that girl’s medicine here? Just throw it away.” He reached toward it.
Sebastian stopped him, his eyes lingering on the bottle. His voice was cold. “No. Leave it.”
“Boss!”
Primo and Duo hurried in. “We’ve got a problem!”
Sebastian lifted his eyes. “What is it?”
“It’s Ms. Kain!” Duo shouted, “She was taken in for fighting!”
“Someone attacked her?” Sebastian’s stare iced over instantly.
Primo’s expression was complicated. He added, “No one touched Ms. Kain … She took down more than a dozen armed men on her own. And she didn’t exactly hold back–there are multiple fractures.”
Sebastian froze for a second.
At the police station.
The situation blew up fast. Willow and Viola both showed up.
When Willow saw Elmer covered in bruises, his wrist wrapped in bandages, she exploded. She lunged at Noelle, hand raised to slap her.
