Chapter 24 Get Your Hands Off My Bike

“All right, all right! I admit it, you’re my sister! Is that good enough? I guess I’ll i take this motorcycle!”

Elmer said it as if he were doing Noelle a favor, which made her laugh.

“Who said this motorcycle was for you in the first place?

“Get your dirty hands off my bike. Don’t mess it up.”

Elmer’s face turned sour. “Noelle! Seriously? I already admitted you’re my sister. Isn’t that enough? What more do you want from me?”

The Kains had ripped her away from her real parents for 18 years and treated her like dirt. Of course, she wanted every single one of them to pay for it

But Noelle didn’t say any of that. She just shot Elmer a cold smile and turned to Stephen. “This motorcycle is for you. Take it. Ride it however you want.”

Stephen looked at Marsh for confirmation. When Marsh nodded, Stephen straightened up and shoved Elmer aside. “Move it! Didn’t you hear what Noelle said? She said this motorcycle’s mine! Mine! Take your hands off, and if you get it dirty, I’ll make you pay!”

Elmer stumbled, barely keeping his balance. He glanced back at Noelle, who looked ce than ever. She was nothing like the girl he used to know.

Noelle was silent.

She really had changed.

He felt a wave of panic, but he couldn’t figure out why. He muttered, “It’s just a stupid bike! Who cares? I’m the heir of the Kains. I can get whatever I want.”

“Yeah, yeah, you’re the heir of the Kains. That’s so amazing. Why don’t you go buy your own bike, then?” Stephen taunted.

Elmer was practically shaking with rage.

“All right, everyone’s here. Let’s get this race started,” Marsh said.

Elmer and Stephen both got on their motorcycles.

Stephen was riding the one Noelle gave him.

He’d taken it for a test ride just now, and the performance was on another level- of his old bike.

He had doubted he could beat Elmer before, but with this new motorcycle, he w could win.

“Man, Noelle is the best! Check out this awesome ride! She bought it for me!” Stephen boasted, shooting a look at Elmer.

Elmer’s face turned purple with rage. He jammed his helmet on, glaring at Noelle with bloodshot eyes.

Marsh brought over a chair for Noelle to sit.

She took her seat, looking like a boss.

Elmer fumed. Just wait, Noelle. I’m going to win. I’ll prove it to you!

“Ready, set-”

With Marsh’s signal, the gun went off!

The two motorcycles shot out like rockets.

Mount Emberwing’s curves were sharp and steep–even pros found it challenging. For Elmer, it was brutal.

Now that it was getting dark, the visibility was even worse.

Elmer and Stephen sped side by side.

“Man, the bike Noelle bought for me is amazing. It handles curves like a dream. Try to keep

loser!” Stephen called out, blowing past Elmer on a turn.

Elmer cursed and slammed the throttle, trying to catch up.

Skill–wise, he and Stephen were pretty even, but Noelle’s gift was just too good–it was leagues ahead of Elmer’s old bike.

His parents never approved of him racing, so every bike he’d owned was something he bought with his own money. They were nothing special. This bike from Noelle, though, was top–of–the–line.

Elmer had the throttle all the way down but still couldn’t keep up.
