“Accident?”

A loud girl’s voice cut through the crowd. “When you pointed that gun at Noelle, your eyes were popping out of your head like you wanted her dead! An accident? Who are you kidding?”
Madeline stepped out of the crowd. “You think only you can use a phone? I recorded a video, too. Mr. Valdez, look.”
She pulled out her phone, opened a video, and showed it to Marco and the instructors.
The video was clear. It showed Holly’s face perfectly–how her eyes went from jealous to straight–up crazy after Noelle got a perfect score. You could see her slowly raising the gun, aiming right at Noelle, with a terrifying look on her face, before she pulled the trigger.
This was not an accident. It was a cold–blooded attack with killing intent!
Madeline pointed at the screen. “Look at her eyes, her movements. Does that look like someone who accidentally fired a gun for the first time? This is attempted murder!”
The evidence was solid.
Holly stared at her own twisted, jealous face on the screen and the clear aiming motion. All her strength left her body. She collapsed to the ground and couldn’t even argue anymore.
Marco watched the video, his face turning dark. His chest heaved.
He thought this was just some petty girl drama, but this was a serious assault!
This was way beyond a normal rule break.
“Holly!” Marco’s voice shook with anger. “You’ve gone too far! Attacking a teammate with a weapon on a training ground! Do you know how serious this is?! It’s a crime! Do you know how hard it was for you, with your background, to get into Kingstowne University?! You-”
Marco was disappointed. Holly came from a poor family, and he was the one who personally recruited her. He remembered how shocked he was when he first visited her home
It was rare for someone from such a background to make it this far–and yet her heart was this cruel.
“You’re done with this training! I’m reporting this to the school leaders. You’re going back to campus right now!”
Just like that, Holly was dragged away.
What waited for her, even in the best case, was punishment.
At worst? She’d be expelled.
“Mr. Menzie, I’m sorry for this trouble,” Marco said.
He and Sebastian gave a salute.
Having IBI officers train them was an honor. No one expected things to turn out like this.

“We’ll leave her to you. I trust Kingstowne University will be fair.”

Marco nodded, grateful that Sebastian wasn’t making a bigger scene. After saying a few words to Noelle, he left to deal with the situation.
With things blowing up like this, no one was in the mood to keep training. Sebastian dismissed the freshmen for the day.
Eleanor grabbed Noelle’s arm and almost screamed.
“Noelle!
Noelle! Noelle! Y–you and Mr. Menzie… you’re really married?! Oh my god! This is crazier than every novel I’ve ever read! It’s so romantic! Ahhh! The couple I ship is actually real–and officially married!”
She was so excited she could barely talk, staring at Sebastian and Noelle with excitement.
Quinna walked over, too. She was much calmer than Eleanor, but her shock was still written all over her face.
The other students slowly snapped out of it. They looked at Noelle and Sebastian with a mix of envy and awe.
The SAT’s top scorer was seriously something else.
An IBI officer was actually her husband. Even if Sebastian wasn’t high–ranking, just being part of IBI was already something people looked up to.
Holly lost her military drill qualification and was taken back to campus. There was no way she was avoiding punishment.
The military drill soon came to an end.
The last day was the final evaluation.
