In the front row, Viola bit her lip hard. Her face was pale as paper.

Ever since moving into the Guzman Residence, she had tried everything to gain Roman’s favor, but he had always stayed distant. Now, he was looking at Noelle like she was priceless.
She couldn’t understand it. Why did everyone she worked so hard to please treat Noelle like she mattered most instead?
Ethan watched from a distance, his frown deepening.
He hadn’t expected Noelle to know Roman. From how they interacted, they even seemed close despite the
age gap.
Sebastian’s wife does have some chops.
His gaze shifted to Lucas, who was chatting happily with Noelle. His lips pressed tighter before he looked away coldly.
The freshman welcome party was about to officially start.
When Noelle went on stage to give her speech, Roman and the others returned to their seats.
“Next, please welcome our freshman representative, Noelle Kain!”
Noelle walked onto the stage with calm, steady steps. The spotlight shone down, making her cool presence * stand out even more.
Thunderous applause filled the hall.
She stepped up to the podium, holding a folder.
When she opened it, she saw several blank letter–size pages inside
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
The audience waited for her to speak, but she didn’t say a word.
Soon, a murmur rippled through the crowd.
“What’s going on? Why isn’t she speaking?”
“Did something happen?”
“What’s wrong with Noelle?” Eleanor frowned. “Why hasn’t she started?”
Quinna quickly sensed something was wrong. “The speech script must’ve been messed with.”
“What?! Who’s that awful to swap her speech out?!”

School officials also noticed something was off. A teacher, Kiara Zimmer, rushed backstage to check.
The backstage was already in chaos.
“The speech script was switched! Someone replaced it with blank pages!”
“What?!” Kiara’s face turned pale.
Many leaders and business figures were present. Who would do something like that just to embarrass Noelle?
Kiara stared at Noelle, who kept quiet on stage. Her panic rose. If Noelle couldn’t say anything, it wouldn’t just be her embarrassment–it would also embarrass Kingstowne University!
She didn’t expect perfection, only that Noelle could say a few lines and avoid total silence.
In the front row, Viola’s lips curled uncontrollably, satisfaction flashing in her eyes.
Roman frowned. Lucas sat up straight. Alina’s gaze turned cold. Even Ethan looked displeased.
Just when everyone thought Noelle would panic, she calmly closed the folder and smiled slightly at the microphone.
“Looks like my speech decided to play a prank on me today.”
Her voice echoed clearly through the hall, steady and calm, without the slightest hint of nervousness.
“But that’s fine.” Her eyes swept across the audience. “Some things don’t really need a script.”
She paused briefly, then began to speak.
She spoke about her hopes for college life, her dedication to learning, and her sense of responsibility to society and her country. Her thoughts were clear, her words flowing even better than a prepared speech.
There were no fancy phrases, yet every sentence hit home. No overdone emotion, yet it moved people deeply.
The entire auditorium was silent. Everyone was completely drawn in by the calm girl who thrived under
pressure.
At the end, Noelle bowed slightly. “Thank you.”
After a brief pause, thunderous applause burst out, filling/the hall.
Noelle stepped off the stage, composed.
The host quickly moved on to the next segment.
Backstage, Kiara, who was in charge of coordination, nearly wanted to drop to her knees in gratitude. “Noelle, you were amazing!”

Noelle stayed cool. “Ms. Zimmer, my speech was replaced with blank pages. How will this be handled?”
Kiara replied quickly, “Don’t worry. I’ll investigate and give you an answer.”
Anyone bold enough to pull something like that at such an event wouldn’t be let off lightly.
Once the culprit was found, there would be consequences.
“Ms. Zimmer.” Holly suddenly stepped forward. “It seems only Teagan had access to the speech. She was also the one who handed it to Noelle.”
Holly was volunteering backstage. Volunteers earned extra credits and a stipend, so she signed up immediately.
Kiara’s sharp gaze snapped to Teagan Reid.
Teagan was a sophomore from a poor family and was usually very quiet. Hearing that, she immediately defended herself.
“No! Ms. Zimmer, I didn’t! It wasn’t me!”
“Teagan, just admit it. If it wasn’t you, who else could it be? You were the only one who touched the speech.”
‘It really wasn’t me!”
“It/real!
Teagan was close to tears. “Ms. Zimmer, Noelle, please believe me. I didn’t do this. I don’t know how the speech became blank pages.”
Holly snapped, “How could you not know? Stop lying!”
“That’s enough!” Kiara shouted. “I’ll investigate this properly. Once I find who did it, I won’t go easy on them!”
