As soon as she spotted Noelle, her eyes gleamed. She sauntered over, hips swinging, with that overly sweet voice that rang loud enough for the whole block to hear.

“Oh wow, hi, Noelle I heard there was some kind of disaster at the party the other night. A chandelier came crashing down or something? Yikes, must’ve scared the life out of you! Poor thing. Viola’s expression twitched, but she still swung the passenger door open like she owned it. She slid into the seat and, just to rub it in, rolled the window back down so she could throw Noelle a smug, taunting smile.

Alina stayed behind the wheel. Her gaze brushed across Noelle without stopping.

Their eyes met for one brief second.

Alina’s fingers tightened slightly on the steering wheel. Then she turned away, raised the window, started the car, and drove off without a word.

“What is with those sisters?! They’re both awful!”
