“That’s right! Search her! Make her hand it over!” Lindsay shouted along.

Veronica lifted her chin slightly, her tone thick with condescension. “I don’t want to make this ugly. Either you take it out yourself, or let us check you to clear your name, and we’ll drop it. Otherwise, I’ll have security come over or even call the police.”
Every gaze in the crowd turned to Noelle at once–curious, suspicious, a little gleeful.
Noelle stood there in her plain T–shirt and pants, posture straight and unyielding.
Faced with the aggressive accusations and the probing stares, there wasn’t a trace of panic on her face. Only a thin layer of frost settled in.
She spoke at last, her voice clear and cold, like ice striking stone.
“First, I’ve never seen any necklace, let alone taken one.
“Second-” Her gaze sharpened, cutting straight at Hailey and Veronica, “what gives you the right to search me? Who do you think you are?”
Her presence suddenly turned sharp, forcing Hailey, standing closest, to instinctively step back half a pace.
Veronica hadn’t expected Noelle to be this defiant. Her face darkened. “You’re guilty, and you know it! If you won’t let us check, that means you’ve got something to hide! Call the police. Lindsay, call them right now. Tell them there’s a theft of valuable property on set!”
She was certain someone like Noelle–ordinary background, cheap clothes–would fold the moment police were mentioned.
Instead, Noelle looked at her with near–indifferent calm and said lazily, “Then call them.”
Veronica frowned. She hadn’t expected that reaction.
Noelle looked plain and unremarkable, wearing off–brand clothes, yet she carried herself with unsettling composure.
She shot a subtle look at her assistant.
“You really dare to let them call the police? If they do, you’re going to jail!” Hailey piled on, trying to intimidate her.
At that moment, the assistant suddenly rushed forward. While Noelle’s attention seemed to be on Hailey, she tunged, pretending to shove Noelle. Her hand darted toward Hoelle’s pocket, fingers quick as a hook, and she cried out loudly, “What’s this hard thing in your pocket?”
Her movement was lightning fast. In the next second, she yanked something out and raised it high, shouting, “Found it! The necklace is right here. She stole it!”
Under the sunlight, a diamond necklace glittered in her clenched hand, the pendant dazzling.
The crowd erupted.
“So she really did steal it!”
“Oh, my god. She’s caught red–handed!”

Chapter 340 Apologize
“She was acting so tough just now! Turns out she’s really a thief!”
“Look at how plainly she’s dressed–maybe she snuck in just to steal!”
“The nerve, stealing something from Alliance 749’s design studio!”
The tide of public opinion flipped instantly.
Disdain, disgust, and gloating stares stabbed toward Noelle from all directions.

Veronica felt a surge of satisfaction, though she put on a look of distress. She stepped forward, took the necklace from Lindsay, examined it carefully, then let out a relieved breath. “Yeah, that’s my necklace… Thank goodness it’s back.”
She turned to Noelle again, towering over her. “Miss, now that the evidence is right here, what else do you have to say?”
Hailey was practically glowing with triumph. She stepped forward, nearly pointing at Noelle’s face. “You bitch! The proof’s right there–how are you going to deny it now? Veronica, we can’t just let this go. She stole something from Alliance 749’s design studio. This is a crime!”
