Veronica felt a chill run through her chest, but forced herself to stay firm. “Then don’t blame me for being harsh. Stealing valuables from Alliance 749 isn’t something you can afford to answer for!”

Seeing Noelle still daring to push back, Hailey’s anger flared. She shouted at a few crew members and extras who usually flattered Veronica and her, “What are you standing around for? She stole something and still won’t admit it! Hold her down! Make her kneel and apologize–right now!”

The men exchanged glances. They’d benefited plenty from small favors from the Flynn sisters, and with the righteous excuse of catching a thief–plus the urge to curry favor with a star–their courage swelled, especially when they saw Noelle alone and plainly dressed.

They answered. Four or five of them closed in on Noelle, reaching for her arms, ready to force her down.

He was about to blow a gasket.
