Serena commented as well, [Tsk, the girl’s gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous! The guy… well, I guess he barely counts as human.]
Terrence wrote, [Dr. Kain, Mr. Menzie, you two are a perfect match, truly made for each other! Congratulations!]
Angus attached a big thumbs–up. [Bring Sebastian home for dinner sometime! I’ve got a big gift waiting!]
Someone from Alliance 749 wrote, [Boss! Have you lost your mind? Why go public already? There are thousands of men in the world; haven’t you had enough fun yet?]
Another person from Alliance 749 chimed in, [That’s not right. Even if our boss goes public, she can still date thousands of men. Anyone who disagrees can get kicked out!]
Darell simply commented, [Congrats.]
The comments kept flooding in, almost all of them blessings, teasing, or mock complaints about being roasted as singles.
Noelle held her phone up in front of Sebastian, chin tilted slightly, eyes bright. “So, Mr. Menzie, satisfied now? Enough proof of your rightful status?”
Sebastian read through the comments one by one. The last trace of unease in his eyes finally disappeared, replaced by a deep, unmistakable satisfaction.
He took Noelle’s phone, locked the screen, and set it aside. Then he tightened his arms and lifted her with ease.
“I am,” he murmured against her ear, his breath warm. “You treat me so well… I should return the favor properly.”
He carried her straight toward the bedroom.
Noelle looped her arms around his neck, buried her face against his collarbone, and smiled silently.
But the warmth didn’t last long.
They’d just fallen onto the bed, clothes half undone, their minds already hazy, when Noelle’s phone rang again.
The sharp ringtone cut through the quiet night.
Noelle frowned, clearly unwilling to deal with it.
Sebastian paused, irritation flashing in his eyes at the interruption.
“Ignore it,” Noelle leaned in to kiss him, her voice soft and blurred. “Let’s keep going…”
But the ringing stopped for less than three seconds before starting up again, relentless and insistent.
Sebastian took a slow breath, pushed himself up, and glanced at Noelle, eyes unfocused and cheeks flushed. He reached for the phone on the nightstand.
The name flashing on the screen was “Mrs. Guzman.”
Sebastian’s gaze cooled as he handed the phone to Noelle. “It’s your mother.”

The haze vanished instantly. Noelle took the phone, expression unreadable, answered without hesitation, and deliberately put it on speaker before tossing it casually onto the pillow.
“Hello.” Her voice still carried a faint hoarseness, but the usual chill was already back.
Mary’s voice exploded through the quiet bedroom, agitated and sharp.
“Noelle! What do you think you’re doing? I just saw your story! You’re shameless! Wearing loungewear, clinging to a man and taking those kinds of photos and posting them online! Do you care about your reputation at all? Do you care about the Guzmans‘ name? I just introduced you to a proper blind date today, and you actually posted the photo with Sebastian… Are you doing this on purpose, just to embarrass me? To go against me?”
Her voice was furious, wounded, and dripping with authority.
Noelle didn’t even blink. She simply rolled onto her side, hooked an arm around Sebastian’s neck again, and pulled him closer. She spoke even more softly, her voice deliberately sweet and breathy. “Don’t mind her, honey. Let’s continue.”
She let out a few deliberate gasps. Mary froze in disbelief, then shouted, “Noelle!”
“Hah…” Noelle narrowed her eyes, clearly enjoying Sebastian’s attention. “Mrs. Guzman, if you wanna listen, be my guest.”
At the Guzman Residence, Mary finally snapped and hung up, her face alternating between red and white, trembling with rage. “S–she’s actually with a man… and making those sounds!” Mary stared at Wesley, who sat calmly on the couch. “Look at your daughter! What kind of behavior is that? She’s doing this just to spite me! Does she even see me as her mother anymore?”
Wesley set down his newspaper, rubbed his temples, his voice tired and faintly distant. “She’s an adult. Let young people handle their own lives. She knows what she wants. Sebastian seems fine to me.”
“Fine? What’s fine about him?” Mary snapped. “He’s a disgrace who’s been kicked out of the Menzies! He was disabled before, and his methods are ruthless. How is he worthy of our daughter? And you’re so calm. Anyone would think you’ve got other kids outside and don’t care about this one!”
