Back when Noelle came to treat Theodore, Otis had followed her on social media.

Theodore and Ethan were still sitting on the couch when Otis suddenly glanced at his phone and laughed. “Ms. Kain just posted a story, hehe. It’s a photo of Mr. Sebastian. Wow, he looks really happy in it!”
Theodore and Ethan both stayed expressionless.
Otis realized he’d said the wrong thing and quietly shut up.
“Are you that bored?” Theodore shot Otis a cold look. “You’re done with your work, so you’re playing on your phone here? Hand it over. Put it on the coffee table.”
Otis meekly placed the phone on the coffee table.
Ethan stood up, his voice flat. “I’ll head back to my room.” He went upstairs, and Otis retreated as well, leaving only Theodore in the living room.
He sat there with a stern face for a while, his eyes drifting toward Otis’s phone on the coffee table.
Seeing no one around, the old man quickly picked it up, swiped the screen, and sure enough, it was still on Noelle’s story.
In the photo, Noelle was smiling brightly, nestled against Sebastian.
That kid Sebastian … was actually smiling too, with a softness in his eyes he’d never seen before.
Theodore stared for a few seconds, snorted, but the corner of his mouth quietly lifted. “At least that brat looks human when he smiles.
He put the phone down and strolled over to the window with his hands behind his back, his mood visibly lighter.
A few minutes later, Ethan came back down, as if he’d forgotten something.
His frame looked slim from the back, loungewear hanging loosely on him. As he passed the coffee table, he paused, glanced around to make sure no one was there, then picked up the phone too.
After unlocking, it still showed the same photo.
Ethan looked at Sebastian’s smile in the picture, his expression complicated. It was a smile he hadn’t seen in a long time.
When they were little, he and Sebastian used to smile like that all the time. Sebastian took him everywhere to play. He was timid and got bullied, and Sebastian always stood in front of him.
To him, Sebastian was the strongest big brother there was.
But…
Ever since the Menzie incident and his parents were brutally killed, everything changed.
His parents died because of Sebastian’s parents. After that, he couldn’t smile anymore, and Sebastian couldn’t either.

Ethan pressed his lips together, forcing down the storm of emotions in his chest. He put the phone back where it was, turned around, and went upstairs, his back looking burdened.
Only after Ethan went upstairs did Otis slowly come back in.
He’d seen the grandfather and grandson’s little actions clearly from outside. Amused, he shook his head.
What a pair of awkward men.
I can tell they care about Sebastian. They just… sigh.
He quietly put his phone away and walked into the garden, where Theodore was still getting some air.
“Mr. Theodore,” Otis asked tentatively, “your birthday party is coming up soon. How do you want to do it this year? Mr. Sebastian is in Kingstowne now. If you ask me, you could invite him back-”
“Enough.” Theodore shook his head. “That brat would only bring unnecessary trouble if he came. That brat… only knows how to cause me trouble. I don’t want him here, not at all.”
Otis opened his mouth, then closed it again.
He knew Theodore wanted Sebastian to come to the party. But it was also true that if Sebastian showed up, the Hernandezes wouldn’t sit still.
Melrose Manor.
Sebastian and Noelle had gone at it almost all night.
The next day, Noelle couldn’t get out of bed at all. Sebastian told her to rest while he had food sent up.
Noelle watched him get dressed, neat and composed, completely unfazed as he walked out. It annoyed her.
Wasn’t this man crippled for over ten years? How is he this strong, like he has endless energy?
Good thing I’ve trained and can hold my own. If it were someone else, he’d probably need a new wife every so often.
“Be good.”
Sebastian fastened the last button, walked to the bedside, and kissed her forehead. “Rest well. Tonight…”
His eyes darkened slightly. “Round two, yeah?”
Noelle was stunned.
“Round two?”
“What, you can’t handle it?” Sebastian’s dark eyes fixed on her.
