“Stop that nonsense!” Terrence snapped.
He tried to stay calm, but his face was pale. The storm was getting worse.

In the heavy rain, more accidents happened. Some people slipped and fell. Others had old injuries that suddenly flared up.
Steve and Noelle didn’t get to rest. They rushed from one person to another, treating the wounded.
Maisy’s injury was the worst. Her leg had been soaked in rainwater for hours. The rough handling during the rescue made it worse. Now the wound was badly infected. It was swollen, red, and leaking pus. A terrible smell filled the air. She was burning with fever.
Steve was busy treating another patient. When he finally glanced at Maisy’s leg, his expression turned grim. He tightened his brows and shook his head at Noelle. “The infection is very serious. If we don’t deal with it soon, we may have to amputate the leg to save her life.”
Maisy heard him. Her face went white. She almost fainted.
After finishing with the patient beside her, Noelle walked over.
The moment Maisy saw her, she shrank back slightly. Fear filled her eyes. There was still a trace of stubborn resistance there.
Terrence saw this and exploded. “Maisy! What is wrong with you? Look at the situation!” he shouted. “Dr. Kain just saved your If she wanted to hurt you, why would she tell people to carry you back? Stop being so ungrateful!”
Maisy’s lips trembled. Her voice was still edged with pride and awkwardness. “I… I’m not causing trouble. I… I’m willing to let her
treat me.”
Noelle looked at her calmly. “If you want someone to help you,” she said, her voice flat, “you should at least ask properly.”
Maisy’s expression shifted. She struggled for a few seconds before finally lowering her head. “Dr. Kain… please… please save my leg. I know I was wrong before. I shouldn’t have treated you like that, I’m sorry. Please help me.”
Only then did Noelle crouch down to examine the wound carefully.
A moment later, she stood up again. Her tone was serious. “The infection is very severe. We don’t have antibiotics here. We can’t perform proper surgery in this place. Normal treatment won’t work.”
“What?!” Maisy almost passed out from the bad news. “Then, what do we do? Amputate it? No! I don’t want to lose my leg
“There is one more option.” Noelle looked toward the mountains in the distance. The forest had been washed by the storm, “After heavy rain, a special herb sometimes grows in the mountains. If I can find it and combine it with my needle therapy, there’s a chance we can control the infection and save your leg.”
“Then what are we waiting for? Go pick it!” Maisy shouted anxiously, without thinking about anything else.
As soon as she said that, everyone around her frowned.
Maisy really was unbelievably selfish. She only cared about herself.
Steve had finished with his patient and walked over. After hearing Noelle’s plan, he nodded slowly. “Dr. Kain is right. That herb can be very effective. But the storm just passed. The mountain trails are extremely dangerous right now. Landslides could happen at

any time. And the herb grows near cliffs. It’s very hard to collect.”
Which meant Noelle definitely shouldn’t go.
But Noelle pressed her lips together and turned toward the exit.
“I need to go.”
“Noey!” Sebastian grabbed her arm.

Noelle spoke gently. “I know it’s dangerous, but I have to go. It’s not only for her leg. It’s also for my grandfather. His birthday is coming soon. He was poisoned before, and his heart was badly damaged. If I can find this herb and use it as medicine, he might fully recover.”
“No! It’s too dangerous! You can’t go!” Jasper protested first. He grabbed Noelle’s arm tightly. “Risking your life for that foolish woman and that old man? It’s not worth it!”
Sebastian stepped forward as well. His brows were tightly furrowed, and his tone left no room for argument. “You’re not going, I’ll go.”
Noelle looked at him. Her eyes softened a little, but her voice remained firm. “You wouldn’t recognize the herb. You don’t know where it grows or how to pick it. If I go, there’s a much better chance.”
“Then draw it!” Jasper said quickly. “Draw it clearly! Sebastian and I are both grown men. It’s safer for us to go than you!”
But Noelle seemed not to hear Jasper at all. She only look decision, it won’t change.”

Sebastian looked at her for a long moment. In the end, trust and his affection won.
He let out a soft sigh and took her hand. “Fine. I’ll go with you. But you must stay close to me. Don’t leave my sight, I’ll protect you.”
‘Sebastian!” Jasper almost lost his mind from the rage. He turned to Sebastian, hoping for support. “You’re really letting her do his? Climbing the mountain in weather like this could get you killed!”
